Dungeon Kick Feature..?

So this has probably happend to you, but what happens when a player has either just AFK'd or D/C'd for an extended period of time. Just sat in Amdapor Keep for 15 minutes waiting for someone at the start. Had to leave and now we have the "Deserter" debuff :/ Can't see why there isn't a kick option.

Thats a bug, happened to me before. The said person didnt even really appear.

No he appeared, then had the "D/C" symbol next to his name. Was good fun waiting in the instance. Would be cool if I could leave the dungeon while waiting, but if they had that feature it would obvious that they would also have the kick feature :/

So the better solution is to assume the worse? Right. Glad SE would rather just have us sit in dungeons with people AFK for an absurd amount of time and/or D/C.

In the situation where someone disconnects or doesnt move for 5 minutes, a kick feature would be fine. However since you are a 50 you should understand why this feature is more detrimental to the community than a 15 minute penalty for leaving. Do you really want to see new players get into Keep and be booted out because they don't want to speed run? Do you really want to be booted if you accidentally get knocked off by the demon wall? The community is already a craphole when it comes to FATEs (Class exclusion, Dark Devices death threats) and Keep (Can't finish Keep in 15 minutes, you're labeled as a crap player).

It's too bad that some players are like that, but it still doesn't change the fact that I have sat for 20+ minutes SEVERAL times in Amdapor Keep, usually because the player has gone afk or they have just rage quit because someone in the group keeps dying and won't keep going until they leave. We NEED a kick feature even if people that are inexperienced will get kicked. They will just have to go learn the fights via youtube before for going it. I watched the speedrun video in order to understand and haven't had any problems with groups since.

+1 for vote kick function.

A kick option is a very bad idea.

There should only be a kick option if someone has been afk at least 8 minutes.

I know it will cost SE money per month, but will be worth it. And the only solution to the DF problems that wont harm innocent players.

This reply is pretty rude, and makes no sense given the topic. I didn't see you say this to anyone else in the thread that disagreed with you, AND brought up kick being good after a certain amount of time. What Unaki said is spot on. You don't have to be level 50 to know that the kinds of reasons Unaki gave can happen in any dungeon where a rude party leader can kick anyone for any reason, including thinking the player is a bad player because they make a mistake, or the speed run issue, or whatever other reasons there can be.

And actually I have done more than you think. I have 3 characters, though 1 was deleted after phase 3 which was my highest level character. I then started an Elezen arcanist in phase 4 for a min-max build, but recently decided I wanted to choose my preferred race Hyur or Miqo'te rather than min-max build for arcanist since I planned to play every class/job. This was before I knew of the Fantasia I'd be getting. You're technically saying just because I've only played the first 7 dungeons in the game that I can't say whether kick is good or bad. That's the silliest thing I've ever heard. I'm well aware of the time limit and how every minute counts in the tougher dungeons, even though I haven't played them since they're beyond the first 7.

I don't have to do Amdapor Keep to know that a kick option is bad, though I could see it being ok if they're afk for a certain amount of time.

Why is everyone so "White Knight" about this? I had a SMN during Amdapor who died on every boss fight. I'm ok with this, really. There's a learning curve and I'm fine teaching people. But she was being the biggest loser about it. She'd rush me, (the WAR) into the fights, and then die and then blame for killing her. I would tell her what she did wrong, (I mean, maybe a little sarcastically,) and her response was, "Deal with it and stop crying. If you don't like me dying, just leave."

Really? These are the people who need to be kicked.

There needs to be a kick function, plain and simple. There is more good to it then bad. If you're SO AFRAID of being kicked from a group because you're bad or you're making mistakes, join a free company and queue with a premade group. Kick function is REQUIRED for PUGGING.

The kick option worked for WoW, it didn't seem to deteriorate the experience for new players. I am concerned with trolling without fear of any kind of punishment. There is a lot of control as a player entering a dungeon whom cant get kicked, especially if that dungeon is one like Ifrit, Garuda, or Titan where players cannot join after the instance has started. Re-queuing is an option but a very bad one if you are DPS.

After running a few instances using the dungeon finder, I must admit, I am wanting a kick system implemented in the near future. Today, I grabbed a healer friend and ran Stone Vigil. Our Group makeup was myself as a paladin, her as a white mage, a dragoon, and a summoner. Both the dragoon and summoner were new to the instance, and although I knew the boss fights, I wasn't able to kill the final boss due to time restrictions. But that is beside the point. In the group that was successful, with the dragoon and summoner, I really wanted to kick the summoner. Not because he was new to the instance, but he wasn't paying attention to the boss strats, was standing in front of the boss, and spent most of his time dead because he didn't listen. This really frustrated myself and the healer. We both wanted to kick the summoner and keep the dragoon who did an amazingly good job. He was listening, he did what was needed, and was quick on the ball. I marked targets and only once did he screw that up, but hey! That is fine, he did a great job. He even did the cannon duty on the second boss. Although we got bad luck at times with multiple tornadoes sitting on a cannon, but such is the boss fight. Didn't blame him because he couldn't use the cannon on time if he even could.

A vote to kick system I think will help separate the good and bad dps. By removing the bad dps to bring in dps who will do what is needed. And truly, after being kicked enough times, the dps will smarten up if he wants to get anything done.

Also, at the end of Stone Vigil, that dead summoner thanked us for carrying him. Yea, thats right. CARRYING HIM. The Dragoon thanked us for having him and for explaining the fights to him so that when he does it again, he can explain what is going on.

I really think the game needs a vote kick feature... for a party of 4 you need everyone pulling their weight and communicating. I had a dungeon where the tank was not doing his job at all. The Tank kept stopping and everyone asked why... we whiped on the boss because the tank stood there and aggro went to me and dps. i said "afk a sec" (wanted to plug in my speakers) ... the tank went and pulled four mobs!... the dps asked why he pulled when i was afk... the tank says He didn't know i was afk... he had chat filter on... >.< when i came back 1min later we were all dead again!... at that point i realized there was no kick feature and decided to leave the dungeon... I'd been in the dungeon for over 20min ... only to leave and have a 15min debuff

3/4 say kick to kick the 4th to try and make it not too abused.

Lets face it at 50 using the DF you get lv50's who are using lv47 whites (NOT EVEN AF) in your group for AK and it isn't going to end well and when this is say your tank it isnt even going to start, but we get the penalty because there is nothing stopping people from joining something thy are not ready for (gear or skill or both)

This is exactly why a kick option isn't needed. It's like Unaki and Izumi were saying, and like someone else said kick should only become an option if player is idle a certain amount of time. Kicking someone because they don't play the way you want is exactly why it would be a problem. If you're going to use duty finder rather than form a group with people you know, like from an FC, LS, etc, then that's your own fault for taking the chance. Other people shouldn't be punished because you chose not to form your own group. Besides, all the higher level content is better to do without using duty finder. Yoshida even pointed this out. If you're going to use duty finder you better be prepared for some bad match-ups, but oh hey give me a kick option so I can kick someone I don't like because I CHOSE to take that chance. It's like rolling a dice or flipping a coin. It won't always be in your favor. You're in the level range where you should already be involved with an LS/FC. If not, consider it.

The fact of the matter is, these DPS want to be carried, they don't want to contribute to anything. I can pull experiences from several other games that even the best guilds will have trouble fielding all their members into premade groups. Not enough tanks and healers even in the best of guilds. At times you are forced to use a LFG System such as this Duty Finder. All of those games, I will point out, have a vote kick system. People are new, I don't care, as long as they at least try to listen to the strat and contribute their abilities to the team. If they don't, they should be removed. Today, I ran stone vigil with a LS, that a friend of mine got me invited too, I ran Stone Vigil, and we had to use the Duty Finder to find 1 dps. So we went into the Duty Finder. The first Dps, immediately started running into the wall, but since one of us 3 help the Leader of the party, we were able to kick him. Fancy that?The leader of the party was able to kick and he was removed from the dungeon. We got another dps who was more than willing to contribute and assisted with any mechanics of the boss fight that I missed. He was extremely helpful, where as the first DPS wasn't helpful.

I am in several LS and a FC. I have trouble fielding a full group. I am taking my time in leveling and yet, I am out leveling them. If the DPS don't want to contribute to the group, they don't have to queue. But if they queue, they can at LEAST Listen and TRY. What is so hard about that? When you go to school and/or work, what will happen if you don't listen to your boss? What will happen if you don't do your work? You will get fired. But you are saying "You can't fire me because I am not doing anything. I work here! I am allowed to work here" Not when you are not doing the job.

We had a player DC right before the last boss in Cutters Cry an hour in. We had 30 min left. Waited a few and decided to try it with 3 people. After several wipes, we made it with 2 minutes left. The fact that we couldn't kick the disconnected player is absolutely ridiculous. It took us an hour to get to that point. If we couldn't finish the last boss, what were we supposed to do? Leave and try again? There NEEDS to be a kick option for DC/AFK players

We had a player come in, /sit down, and tell us to "PLEACE LEAVE." He wasn't AFK, he just refused to move or do anything. Or maybe move a little bit, then sit down again.

Guess who gets the "Deserter" penalty in that case?

There doesn't just need to be a kick. There needs to be a dungeon blacklist.

Would be nice, then I could avoid all the bad tanks, and dps, that stand in stuff and do not know how to aoe tank. Seriously, when one cure spell pulls all the mobs off a tank at 45 there is a problem and that player never would have gotten the good gear they had if we could kick them instead of carrying them and listening to them whine when we wipe because they refuse to learn their role/class and mechanics or even listen when someone explains it nicely to them. Why should I be penalized 15 minutes when I am tired of wiping and racking up a repair bill because of someone that just will never get it?

Yes, it may need a Kick Feature for dungeon run. However my suggestion is, unlock the Kick Feature when there is a member AFK or didn't do any move for several minutes and party member can only kick the AFKers not active member. If every member are active in the dungeon then the Kick Feature must be locked.

Kick feature is well know as an overabused function to kick innocent honest players at certain key point (last boss, inviting a guildy and taking credits, money, drop, what ever for example).
It would be a shame and i would not play this game anymore if kick (and abuse of it) is introduced.

The simple easy solution is put a afk timer. If a player don't hit a mob/interact with other players (like healing) for more than 8 minutes he will be automatically kicked out from the queue group, back in town with 15 minutes lockout, and his seat automatically replaced.
A repeated attitude attempting to afk using an exploit to not be kicked must be investigated, leading to a suspension of the account/jail.

Simple solutions, everyone is happy :)

I think it'd be abused and would make many people quit ff14. How do you think a guys gonna feel being kicked for sucking? Or what about abusers who kick for item priority? It needs an auto kick option.

has not cost any other mmo that uses it any subscribers. How do you think we feel for not being able to progress because we are forced to carry someone that sucks only to not be able to complete in the first place.
People are more likely to quit because they can not progress in the garuda mission or a more difficult fight or dungeon because we can not kick the healer that is under geared and has no clue how to heal or use their detuant to refresh their mp and refuses to drop out so the group can get a better healer or a similar situation with a tank or a dps that will not follow instructions. I was stuck 3 days trying to finish the garuda fight because we could not kick incompetent players that refused to do the mechanics after repeatedly explaining it and ending with a failed attempt due to time running out or getting a debuff because i got tired of banging my head against the wall trying to explain to an idiot that has no buisness tanking that he has to tank garuda away from the rocks, or explaining to a dps to kill the feathers. tried 30 damn times. i damn near deleted my dragoon and uninstalled due to it. GF talked me out of it so here I am still playing. other people will not be as patient and forgiving. Then there are the trolls, why wait and waste time, let us instantly kick and be done with it. I for one am tired of being forced to carry dead weight if I want to get anything done when my usual team is offline.

And as far as item priority goes, if someone gets kicked after a boss fight they still get to roll on the item. This has NEVER been an issue in any of the games I have seen it in.
