While this isn't a game breaking or game making feature, it's one more-so for quick convenience of being able to free my General chat from RMT spam in main cities. I'm aware it takes a few seconds to manually do it, but I'd still like to see a feature like this added in the future.
It shouldn't be a priority over new content or bug fixes, just a nice add-on sometime down the road :)
I have to say, I think adding this feature would just cause accidental blocks more than intended ones.. Also, you won't see the RMT shouts as much once game goes into paid service mode. Unless I'm mistaken and SE is going to allow new player trial before purchase on this game.
Right clicking would be great, I agree and add my voice to this request.
Another that would be nice would be not having to put the player's name in quotes when you use /blist add "Soandso Jones". Had to explain this six times in shouts today when people said it wasn't working. Everyone has a first and a last name, I would think the game would recognize that without the quotes if we type the name correctly.
I agree also add a report gold selling/botting feature to right click. I was on Faerie server for 10 min and had to add 2 gold sellers to black list. Give the players an easy way to report the offenders. You will get rid of them quick enough.

Sadly I don't believe a RMT blacklist will help. I have been in the same location for the last hour and they create a new character about every 20 mins. I think the only thing that will stop them is in a suggestion I replied to in a post on this section. "Gold spammers are taking advantage of SEs limits." Since people are reading this please go to the other one and voice your opinion on said suggestion. The more ideas we have the better S.E. can deal with this mess.
It is badly needed, as its getting worse! I also saw the teleporting mining bots that plagued GW2 last night blinking from ore point to ore point, some were even in companies, though I'm guessing they are hacked accounts (or very dumb players). :mad:
Whether it helps to stop or not this is a quick way to stop spam at least for people like me on PS3. Adding and submitting cheat report is no joke. It may not be a full solution but at least I can easily block them. I am very sure there will be confirmation prompt in case you accidentally click on BL.

I agree. While this won't really help with RMT issues, it will definitely make it quicker to add them to the blist. So we can move on and get on with the game instead of wasting time trying to catch the spelling of the names. And while this will increase the chance of adding someone to blist by mistake, we can simply remove them from the blist if we added the wrong person. I can't remember if we have that option on XIV or not. I only added them there... I have no intention of unblack listing those people... but i know in XI you could put people on blist and remove them from the blist. I'm pretty sure, if this feature is not already in place, it can be easily added.
It's so hard trying to even catch the name on ps3 with them spamming so fast! Granted, my vision isn't that great and sitting across the room from the tv makes things hard on reading that teeny tiny print but really.. I can't go into cities for all the spam!
I agree that right clicking the name would be very helpful. They could take it a step further and allow a drop down box that has RMT as an option and have their name drop into a different list that doesn't effect your Black list. Grouping these names into a list designated as RMT should help SE to quickly filter through the posts of this list and track common names listed by other players. This could take a snap shot of one line of their post proving to SE that they are spamming a website which is one of many user agreement violations and make it easier to ban them. You have to have an SE account to have a char so it wouldn't take long to ban just those accounts and not have to even investigate reports.

Agreed, besides it pops up with "Add ____ to blacklist?" doesn't it? So a mistake click wouldn't be too hurtful.
I fully agree to this. I play with First names only. (Evelyn. T, for example), which makes blocking goldsellers much more difficult.

On a plus side, if you accidentally block someone you can always go to your blacklist and remove their name. :) The right click > block feature is a great idea.
Right Click Name > "Add to Block List" & "Report" would both be great additions. Would make cleaning chat and reporting faster.
This is a NEEDED feature. It's getting to the point that there is now so much Gold Buying/Power leveling messages when in a main city that weeding out chat is almost impossible. Right click block is a great idea however, right click report would be better.. let Square/Enix ban gold seeing accounts
