Its been a week now since I've actually been able to log in and play for more than 20 minutes. I'm allowed to play for 20 minutes with serious lag spikes, and then finally I get disconnected with an error code 90000. I have contacted my ISP (RCN) twice in the last two days and they explain to me that they are aware of the problem, however there is nothing they can do from their end. The fact that I am getting more information about a video game from my ISP than the actual company who made the game, is to me, a joke. The only response we've received from Squeenix is a moderator closing a thread and listing it as "resolved" when there are clearly thousands of people having this problem. If there are hundreds if not thousands of people complaining on the forums of this problem, imagine how many aren't even bothering to come on to the forums. How many players are you throwing aside? 5,000? 10,000? 50,000? I really enjoy this game, but this is becoming ridiculous.

Yeah, I have horrifying lag too, I don't get d/ced. I'm starting to wonder if we're being redirected to japanese servers now, and no I don't mean that in a trollish manner.

Honestly, my cousin who played FFXI right when it launched these 90000 issues are almost exactly the same. He believe very much that the problem is not enough ports are opened from their end. so ports get filled and you get 90000 when the ports can't handle anymore. This is probably why i can get into a JP server on night hours but can never get on a NA server.
NA/EU servers need more ports opened. -

I'm having these horrible lag spikes as well, then eventually a 90k error disconnect. I too have tried all network, isp solutions. As for being p2p, I only have had this issue since 9/2/2014 with them. Before this, including closed beta I never had a problem. I've ran into so many people with these problems and I just got an email saying they resolved this with the last patch... Ya, ok... Jap servers give me no lag spikes or 90k errors... Just saying.
BTW, have you noticed the recent posts about this have been buried? -

Also, if your ISP is the problem, playing through a VPN should remedy your problems. That is, if you're CPU savvy enough.

This isn't becoming ridiculous, it has already reached the the point of being utterly ridiculous. Since around noon on Monday September 2nd, I have experienced constant lag spikes and disconnects like every 15 minutes with the error 90000. It makes the game almost unplayable and impossible to do group event.
A ticket I submitted to SE's help center was replied back it to me. The only problem is whoever responded back is completely incompetent and obviously didn't even read what I described as being my issue. This is what I got:

This issue has been going on for days with no real input, no mentioned into what they are doing about the issue other than "looking" into it, and no ETA on when this issue is going to be resolved. Are we going to be given free time for this? The game ranges from almost unplayable to completely unplayable for many of us...like the log-in issues many had.
Do you community reps plan to actuality tell us what is going? Do you even read any of these topics? This is extremely frustrating and only makes it more frustrating with very, very, little communication. I love the game, but there's only so much I can tolerate. -
