Determination compared to mind?

not sure if this has been asked, i did try to search for this topic. I was curious as if anyone had any info as to how good determination stat is compared to the mind stat? for example is it a 1-1 ratio? I know that determination also increases spell dmg, so i would assume Mnd would be more powerful in terms on healing, but havent tested.

From my little bit of experimentation, Determination isn't a BAD stat to have, but it's better to get others, and just get Determination from Gear. Save your Materia for Spellspeed or Mind in my opinion.

Mind > Spell Speed > Determination > Piety > Critical

Determination and Spell Speed are the two best stats right now, in my opinion. Just +1 DET difference was adding 15-20 points on a heal.

+1 point of spell speed looked like it took off 0.05 seconds on an 8 sec spell cast.

Usually how it works is stack spell speed (aka haste) until you run into MP problems, then go with DET. If you're already having MP problems, go with DET.

Can someone get a nice bunch of DET to try it out for pet scaling?

I believe it is 2 Determination = 1 Mind for healing potency. This would make sense, since Determination increases healing and attack damage, so each point could be broken down into .5 to healing and .5 to damage. Unfortunately, I do not recall where I read this.

Tested +71 determination gave barely 10-15 hp healing(physick) . In fact some heals were low enough that they were near the higher end of the previous healing. Pet heals like +10-15hp more with +71 determination. Quite a lackluster stat

I had theory that it augmented crit heals but i tested and i was wrong :(.
Renew tested too +71deter is like 10hp heal

So not worth vayna melding.

I was told that Determination has more effect when fighting boss mobs, and that it really only comes into play at end game. Idk how true this is, but the person that told me this said it was in the DEV post somewhere... I never verified, but somebody may have.

Like I said, Never verified.

I noticed it helped WHM more than SCH... (which is really kind of dumb) but then again SCH has a shield based focus therefore crit is more of a desired stat than det.. also as of right now SCH is equivalent to the DK tank back in wrath of the lich king.. they COULD be good healers but only if they have atleast a 50% crit rating... otherwise they will be out done by whms. SCH doesn't need a buff... it just needs to be ironed out.

Crit ~ Mind > Vit > Spellspeed > Pie.

That's for me. I don't really care about Det at all..

I keep thinking of Determination as a PVP stat, given the number of quests in the game where a nigh-unkillable mob has to have a key item used to lower its DET to a point where you can effectively damage it.
