Blue Mage! But adding new classes is still 2 years ahead of right now :D
I personaly would like to see a Dark knight or a Corsair like in FFXI, but thats just me lol
Dragoon WITH a wyvern
beastmaster of course!!
Beastmaster or Summoner would be awesome! d:
Summoner, dragoon, ninja, thief, blue mage, beastmaster, time mage, dancer, dark knight, hunter, chocobo knight is all but a few of the classes i want :) chocobo knight = epic! Check ff tactics advance :D
Put some uniquiness into it.
1. Mechanic: Crafting class wield a screw driver and off hand a wrench.
2. Robotic technician: DoW class, wield a robotic Arm (wood, metal, alumium, gold..as tier) Off hand can be a 2nd arm. Can use special armor, like power backpacks or robot legs as gear.
3. illusionist: Wield a Book/tome DoM: cast illusion as buff - increase strength, decrease strength, debuff, heal and attacks, more crowd control like
4. Poem: Wield a pen, off hand: patchment or paper. DoM: Write songs or poem to enchance stats or control enemy or Draw "inked" PET class that is more like a pet class.
5. DANCER... no idea what to wield.
6. Defender: wield one hand LANCE + offhand tower shield Superior defend character
7. Ninja: Wield: katana or throw sickles
8. lastly ... 360 HARDCORE GAMER: wield: 360 controller off hand: throw DVD
Ok its on the FFXIV emblem. Your hume in the video carries one. PLEASE PLEASE a two handed sword class. Not Samurai swords. I'm talking big bastard swords, great swords, Giant Knives, anything. Sorry to say this but you got us hooked on Cloud/ Zax weapons so you gotta keep it coming. Thanks.
I would also like to see Chemist in this game. I don't think it's ever been used outside the original tactics game though.
oracle oracle oracle oracle oracle oracle a million times oracle!
he could be crowd control or something i dont know.
Edit: or mystic if you played the remake.
Oh yeah my two handed sword class could be called Berserker, and give him Break Abilities. STR Break/ VIT Break ect... so not to be confused with main.... btw I love maim.
I'd personally like to see Fencer somewhere down the line, or perhaps a class that uses the empire's gunblades...
But yeah, I'd say we're a little ways off anything radically new, more likely we'll see the older standard classes return first.
I am 100% for a Gunblade class. My brother read about some of the legends of Coerthas and it said that the warriors from there used Gunblades, so who knows maybe they will put it in.
I'd like Disciple of Hand/Land classes to have an active role in battles.
Ninja has always been dual class, but maybe we should have things like: thief one sword katana ninja; second katana
I wonder if the Ninja class will be the Assassin with mystic abilities. Although the Gladiator symbol does have Dual swords. Maybe Assassins rank 20 trait will be Dual Wield. It was a rank 10 ability used as a sub job skill with rank 20 off classes in XI.
I wonder :
Thief (dagger + Steal)
Ninja ( dw )
Dark Knight / Paladin ( heavy armor + Black/White Magic )
I would suggest 'Musketeer' and 'Arcanist' as both of these classes already have guild buildings present in Limsa with NPC's demonstrating example weapons and attack animations in each therefore it would not be too difficult to implement with a list of abilities possibly being the only thing to decide upon.
1. Flayer/Lasher
2. Musketeer
3. Thief
4. Chocobo Herder: 4th DoL Gathering Class
I made this suggestion a while ago on Eorzeapedia.
Quote:
Mimic: A Blue Magic User
Mimic - Disciple of Magic Class
Main Weapon: Sling Shot
Pouch Types: Pellet, Stone, Marble, Fire Cracker, Gem
Rank 1 Skills:
Trick Shot - Simple Quick Attack that can cause a stun to spell casting.
Mimicry - The last ability that landed, is performed with Magical effectiveness. Magic Potency replaces any physical requirements for the ability. Will Generate TP if it misses.
Yes, The Sling Shot. Mimic being a class meant to confuse and confuddle the enemy uses a sling shot to deal ranged damage and status effects. Pellet and Stone pouches can replenish from around you.
Marble, Fire Cracker, and Gem have to be filled by a craft, when they run out they turn back into a normal Stone Pouch.
Pellets do piercing damage, stones do slashing, marbles do blunt, fire crackers do elemental, and gems do astral/umbral.
Abilities - More then just Copy Pasta...
Enemy Skills: Every Even Rank (2, 4, 6, 8, 10, etc.) unlocks the ability for the Mimic to learn an ability from an Enemy. These abilities will be listed under "Enemy Skills" in the Action Bar menu. These abilities while being used by the Mimic act as 100% as magic abilities and only use the mimic's Magic Potency as its judge of effectiveness. Each ability is also tied to a Class, and only certain classes can use certain Enemy Skills. For instance the Marmot ability Nutcracker can only be used by Archers, While the Mole ability of Breakout can only be used by a Pugilist. When being used by its Associated non Mimic class, this ability uses the classes Primary combat stat as its determination of effectiveness (Attack power or Magic Potency etc.)
Learning Abilities: To learn an ability from an Enemy you must be currently set as Mimic before combat starts, Durring combat certain situations will increase the ability of a character to learn the ability that the monster knows. When the enemy is defeated as long as you earned some SP from the fight you have a certain percent chance to learn the ability.
1. 5%+ engage in combat with the enemy. (The monster doesn't have to use the ability in combat but learning it this way might take a while because its only a 5% chance.)
2. 10%+ Enemy uses the ability in combat.
3. 1%+ Enemy uses the ability an additional time (Each time adds 1%)
4. 5%+ Enemy has a critical effect with the ability.
All of these stack so if you fight the monster, It uses the ability with a critical effect, then uses it again once more later before being defeated you would have a total of a 5+10+5+1% chance or 21% chance. All of the chance bonuses multiply.
Mimicry Abilities: Every Rank ending in a 5, (5, 15, 25, etc) Mimic's get access to a Mimicry ability. These abilities allow the mimic to copy stats, buffs, debuffs, and other effects from party members to monsters, or from monsters to party members. Some abilities are meant to help control Enmity.
Rank 5: "Impersonation" 250TP - Swap the Enmity with the closest party member within range. (Literally has to be right next to each other) confusing the monster into thinking one of you is the other.
Rank 15: "Aura Steal" 500TP - Your next successful attack on the monster will wipe one Positive Status effect away and grant it to yourself.
Rank 25: "Improvisation" 500TP - Target a friendly player and grant them a random buff that anyone currently in combat is under the effect of. If the target already are under the effect of the same buff, its potency and duration are doubled. (Only one Improvisation per character, 5 minute cool down.)
Sling Shot Abilities: Sling shot abilities are granted at every rank that ends in 0. 10-20-30-40 etc.
Rank 10 : Loaded Sling 1000tp - Launches 3 projectiles in a small cone spread forward. - Targets chest.
Rank 20 : String Tension - Pull back farther for your next attack, increasing your attack power but lowering your stamina regain until the attack lands.
Rank 30 : Barrage - Rapidly fire multiple attacks, each successive attack allowing you to attack again until you miss. Each successive hit reduces your accuracy 10% for the next attack until you hit 0 or miss.
Add SCHOLAR! That is all.
Bring back the Bluemage! And try to make them have a cooler backstory than aht urghan..if you can ;) r.i.p aht urghan :(
I'd like to see something new like a Berserker (dual-wield 2H weapons).
Basic role: Build TP, buff up, deliver one shot of destruction, get killed.
I do miss the Samurai and Summoner class in this game.
Would love to see Summoner in the future, favourite job from FF hands down
Dancer! summoner! mediator! geomancer! calculator! ok maybe not calculator.
I'd wanna see something like a rogue/thief/assassin class. As for what I can assume we'll definately get eventually I'm looking forward to the musketeer.
At the very least, I'd hope they would keep the classical naming style they've been using thus far, as it in my opinion it adds layer of sophistication as well as the image that these classes are actual professions.
I'd personally like to see the introduction of Musketeer, Fencer, and some sort of Assassin-type class as well. More DoM classes such as Arcanist, Mystic, and some sort of Evoker class would be nice changes of pace as well.
I would love to some pet classes added, I do miss Carbie and Carrie. Also, some more mage classes would nice.
- Dragoon: Might be as an advancement class from lnc. Dragon grows with rnk.
- Summoner
- Musketeer
- Chocobo breeder/herder
- more (defined) mage classes
itd be SO COOL if they added these ADVANCED JOBS as say a specialty class that one unlocks at R50 since by the time they implement everyone whose stuck with ff would have reached that goal lol.
I think a lot of you are thinking of classes as individual jobs from XI and that isn't really the case.
Classes are a bunch of jobs compressed into one tree.
A Conjurer is both a White Mage and a Black Mage or can specialize.
Thats why I've always supported a Job Title System ontop of the Class System.
Equip the White Mage job title to your Conjurer and any White Magic based skills you equip give you a bonus to stats to equip them while non-white mage abilities give no bonuses. Then have the job title augment the secondary ability that the class learns turning it into a makeshift 2hr/ohshitbutton like from XI.
Accountant?
something like:
The Accountant uses File Tax Return on Dodore
Dodore uses Possible Audit
The Accountant parries the Possible Audit
Dodore takes 10,000 damage
The Accountant successfully Files Tax Return
The Accountant gains Refund
See... Now doesn't that sound exciting?
That sounds like the guys asking for Politician as a class in The Old Republic.
I think it'd be neat to get a buff class like Arcanist supposedly was that had a mini-game involved with buffing. We already have little game things associated with DoH, it would be great if they transferred into combat too.
Bard could apply this, for example a small set of strings could appear on the screen and you simply have to hit the right one at the right time over the course of the casting (would have to be fairly slow-paced) purely to make things more interesting.
I loved bard back in Aht Urghan merit parties for the fast pace and the fact you essentically decided if the party did well, but something like a mini-game would be great for making those tasks more fun.
I think this could be applied to all classes though to be honest, special moves that acted like the limit breaks of old where you time button presses to get more strikes. It would have to be client-side to avoid lag, but i dont think that would be too big a problem although I wonder how exploitable it would be.
