Guys/Gals I finally figured it out!

So check this out, after I hit 30+ as an Arcanist I finally was able to queue as healer in the DF. But queues took 30+ mins to get in. So I started to blame it on tank shortage.

Today, i decided to try fate grinding for the first time. And let me tell you... in my first party alone there were 5 tanks, and 2nd party later there were 4 healers.

So this game has no shortage of tanks or healers, its just that they are not using the dungeon finder or even interested in dungeons- because they are busy grinding fates!

This is how it goes-

#1 sit in down to gain rested EXP
#2 ZERG to the nearest fate that spawns and complete
#3 teleport back to town asap to gather rested exp
#4 move on to next zone/leveling area and repeat
#5 Profit???

I recommend replacing Dungeon Finder completely with FATE Finder- cause clearly this is the only relevant content in the game and where majority of the population is only interested in.

TLDR: FATES>ALL other content in this game

I feel like removing the dungeon monsters from hunting logs (towards the end of beta) was done without much thought for the long road. There is little to no incentive in going into a dungeon more than once for the story. I'm already seeing tons of people roadblocked on the first set of dungeons and Ifrit on my server.

1. Roll tank or healer
2. Complete story
3. Fate grind on any other job you're interested in
4. Win???


Other option is get in a Linkshell and ask for help, there's more ways to start a dungeon group than Duty Finder.
That being said unless I'm helping a friend I probably won't be redoing story dungeons, the reward is just not there for it.

What they need to do is allow us to manually enter a dungeon in whatever fashion we so choose like WoW does. and if we use the duty finder, it does the party setup with 1 tank, 1 healer, 2 dps.

If i want to group with 7 of my friends and assault Haukke manor, i want that option. I want to be able to get a party of 8 Arcanists, and run through any dungeon i so choose regardless of level. If not for the rewards, but just for the fact that i could.

They need to nerf the fate exp.

No they need to increase dungeon exp. Nerfing the fates will just make it abysmally slow to level your 2nd /3rd class and so on. It is already abysmally slow and boring to level a 2nd class the way it is. If they buffed dungeon exp and maybe gil drops it would be a nice break from fate grinding to go do a few dungeons and vice versa. Get your fist class to 50 and start a 2nd on its way and then come back and say nerf.

I already have. I'm old school tho, i would rather do it the FFXI way and group up to chain higher level mobs than mindlessly spam attacks on stuff in a big group.

They could add that too and increase exp. I had fun in EA running chain gangs ant lower levels with my FC mates. We could get any class from 1-15 in about 1.5 to 2 hours. The problem is after about 15 it gets abysmally slow. I would really like for them to balance the game so you could really do anything and get the same exp an hour about. That way it would spread people out all over the world doing numerous activities, the DF would always be full, there would be people running fates, etc.

What I am afraid of if they nerf fates is we will see no one anywhere, everyone will just sit in town and sit in the DF.

I have never had a problem with the duty finder yet. The longest I have had to wait is 30 minutes (which is nothing if you work on your crafting in between, do some fates, or undertake S&P missions for your GC). I have run Haukke Manor 3 times recently and all three times I queued in under 5 mins and once that was at 6 AM EST. So I disagree with the fact that the duty finder is not working. Maybe you are just having bad luck?

The problem I see is people don't gear at all. My FC is running longstop nonstop for the 3 sets. We ran the first 3 as well for sets. I stop the grinding to hq my guys any jewelry they don't have dungeon drops of. Even though we're on a legacy server only 1 member is legacy. The TLDR of it all is this: too many non legacy players are about nothing but lvl 50 on all jobs and grabbing darklight. Enjoy life and have a some fun.

You can queue with 4 dps if you make the group first if you want just as you can in wow, but wow does not let you bring more than 5 people into a regular dungeon so not sure where you got that from. I think it should let you bring less if you want but def not more unless it disables loot and exp.
