Is your ISP RCN? Are you having problems with lag and disconnects?

Was finally able to log into the game today after about 4 days, only to encounter a totally new problem, severe lag and disconnects about every 10 to 15 minutes, without fail. My latency was steady at about 60 ms all throughout beta, early access, and release. The one thing I've noticed scrounging through these forums for a solution is that many of the players are on the same ISP as me, RCN. Can people who play FF14 and are on RCN confirm this? Are you guys also having problems? Did you contact Square or RCN and were you able to fix the problem?

I have RCN, in eastern Pennsylvania--and I've been having this issue. It's been happening to me since 9/2, and nothing has worked. I can log in and play for a bit before I get booted with a 90k error.

I know about http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...P2P-throttling forum, and have already posted in it. The game is borderline unplayable, since I can't do anything. No dungeons, no duties, even solo quests are frustrating from being dropped all the time. I understand there are server issues and other problems afoot, but plenty of people seem to be having this problem now and it needs to be addressed. I haven't contacted RCN yet, since I have the sinking suspicion that they're going to say everything is fine on their end.

A mod addressing this issue or a news update would be very appreciated. Sitting in the dark not knowing when this will be fixed is frustrating to say the least.

Yes, I have RCN and have been experiencing lag and disconnects since mid-day Monday. I'm lucky if the game doesn't disconnect me in give minutes of playing. When I am playing , the lag ranges from very annoying to unplayable. SE hasn't responded to myself in a ticket or other topics I've seen, one which I posted in today. The disconnect error is always the 90000 one.

It is not just RCN

I have no idea about the relationship the ISP has with the servers, but it would seem that this is a pretty serious problem, as there are probably hundreds if not thousands of us on RCN who cannot play the game. I just tried playing another game just to make sure (CS: GO), and I literally had 16 ping throughout the whole 10 minutes.

RCN customer in New England. Lag and disconnects here. I'd rather be logged off in a sanctuary with 1017 errors than disconnect mid-battle. :(

Heh, I hear that brother. I died about 5 times mid battle today because of the lag... I enjoy the heck out of the game, just wish this would get fixed sooner rather than later.

I've been 90k'd several times. I can play for maybe 40-1 hour at a time before I get the error. It's frustrating especially when I'm in a dungeon. I don't have RCN however.

Maybe Square should start contacting ISP's? I remember hearing something about during RIFTS launch Trion had to contact several ISP's because they were classifying the game as P2P software.
