Change Appearance

Is there any way to change your character's gender, appearance, or species? I just want to know. :D

You will be able to change certain aspects of your character in 2.1. It was mentioned in a Live Letter once.

Q16: What features will we be able to change in the barber shop?

A16: You will be able to change your character’s hairstyle, hair color, eye color, face paint, color of the face paint, and beard.

We currently plan to release the barber shop feature in patch 2.1 (initial patch), so please don't stress too much when creating your character!

After your first 30 day sub, you'll get an item that will allow you to do just that.

It's the 30-day veteran award. You get it as soon as you pay for 30 day or more of subscription. Worthy of note, if you are in NA, you cannot pay (even with time card) for days until your free time is used up. But as soon as you pay for 30 days, you get the item. You can then use it to do a one-time race/sex/appearance change.

For appearance only, just use the barber shop coming with 2.1

Pretty sure it doesn't.

Kind of hoping they implement an option like that in the future. :c I tried to FF14-ify my FF11 name... and, despite how much I'm Trying to like this iteration, I just don't like it. :c She's already 30 on two jobs with a choco and all. -_- I don't know if I can stand to reroll again.

Sadly i think you'd only get a name change if you change servers and the other server has a character with the same name already. i guess when world transfers are up you could make a character on a diff server, give it your characters name then transfer your character to that server for the name change and transfer back? lol

Dunno how feasible that would be - both realms my friends are playing on are highly populated already. I might transfer off and get stuck rofl. :s Genius idea, really... I did that a number of times in WoW. Totally forgot about it in this instance, though.

Question: is this an item that all character (current and yet to be made) get? just like the onion helm and moogle hat?
