How did you get the 3102 error?

I won't be able to play till later and I might not even bother. From what i'm seeing people are randomly being dropped/crashed from game and then not able to log in again. This does not seem to be the case

Has anyone had an abnormal crash (People that never crashed before today) only to return with a 3102 error?

Have you been kicked from the game because of this error or another error only to return to this error?
A.Yes, Final Fantasy XIV has stopped working error will lead to error 3102 (because of being logged out when game crashes)
A2.It's possible that "You have been disconnected from server" error may not lead to 3102 error

If you log out on your own using the exit option does this error still happen?
A.Logging out correctly has resulted in a 3102 error

Just characters on 1 server?
A.NO

just 1 character on 1 server?
A.NO

Does it lock out all your characters on every server for 1 region?
A.YES

Characters on Japanese/EU/NA servers all together?
A.YES

Has everyone today gotten this error eventually?
A.NO

Have you avoided this error by not logging out?
A.YES

How long have some people played before getting this error? Hours, Minutes?
A.Hours as long as you don't log out or are dropped from the game

If you could do it again would you not log in so that your character wouldn't be locked out for an indefinite amount of time or would you try it again hoping for the best?

I understand people are pissed and i'm sure there are many people out there that would rather not give sound advice as to what can be done to avoid this error but i'm hoping some people will be kind enough to seriously spread the knowledge of what they know.

thanks SplineCL I missed this.

I logged in pretty early after the servers came back on, around 3:30 PDT. Played for a while, logged off in a Sanctuary while I took a shower and ate breakfast before leaving for work.

My wife asked me to send her some gathering gear, so I logged on real quick to send it to her, hit with the 3102 while trying to log back in.

My wife has tried logging me in a few times over the past few hours while I am here at work to see if 3102 had gone away, no luck.

Currently lost any respect i had for Squar Enix...

I blame the guys in charge of the servers for fucking things up at every turn.

I seriously hope they get fired by the end of this week...

Me and my Fiancee were on Skype and I wanted to get the game sound coming through my headset so I exited out of the game normally than loaded it back up only to receive the nice 3102 error! Yes it blocks me from logging on any other character on the NA/EU realm. Been getting it for over an hour now hooray!

My wife is at home, playing just fine. She hasn't logged out yet though, and probably won't be now lol.

Oh and on topic.

I logged out 4 hours ago to do some work.

Came back 10 minutes ago to log back in and i got the message telling me i was not logged out and have to wait a few moments before trying again.

I used the "Exit Game" option to log out and I could not log back in.

I used the log out option after going to an inn cause i was planning on switching characters. I go to log into my character thats on a differant server and get the 3102 error.

Log in -> Starting one quest: I had to examine a few "Destination points" -> Click on first ·Destination point" -> FFXIV stop working -> Hello 3102!

I just wanted to re-log because the duty finder was broken again (who would have thought that lol) and upon new log in I got 3102. Its been hours and no chance to get back into game.

Have you ever received a FFXIV has stopped working error before today? Wondering if it's possible the update gave you the error while playing and it normally would not have or if it's possible that it was a regular error and since the error logged you out you got the 3102. ~TIA

I was online, playing for few minutes, got huge lag spikes every 30-40 secs, and one of spike ended with disconnect. Then i tried to re-log and got the error. I logged on Titan (japan server, where i have another char) i tested if i have lag there, and no lag at all. Logged out from japan and tried to relog on eu, no luck, tried again on japan and no luck there also (same error)... so... welcome 3102 :)

soooo THIS is why it was sooo easy to log in today, half the people that logged out after the recovery via exit game are locked out and cant get back in, myself included, i dont understand why its so hard to emulate the log in procedure for ffxi.... once again screwed out of another day of playing the game...

I just want to thank everyone for the info (for us nosy people) and being civil. Everyone is super frustrated right now and we all know how irritating it can be after a week of problems to come on today thinking most things will get better only to have them get worse.

Hopefully since they just acknowledged the error not too long ago it wont take them too much longer to fix the issue (Hopefully :( )

Mmmm i had a few "runtime errors". I had "FFXIV has stopped working" once, when i press alt+tab to open Raidcall and FFXIV crashed. It's was coincidence, but a bit annoying after being trying to update my client for 3 hours.... 1 more hour waiting to enter thanks to 3012 error..
