FATEs feel like rush hour in London...

I hate Coerthas.
I have taken part in some FATEs there and most of the time I can't even see what I am killing until it's dead. No strategies, just spamming one move over and over, the faster the better because otherwise the mob will die and I dont get any spells in.

I think this is the biggest downfall for the game for me at the moment. FATEs are great when there are 10 people doing it in random places, but not when there are 300.
Is this really the way people want to play their games?
I actually miss Natalan coffer parties from 1.0... sometimes you would wipe before you got to the camp. There was a chance you could get some nice items from the coffers too while exping... Now it's just mindless spamming until the FATE is over, and then running to the next one.

Besides that, I like the game :D

People want quick easy exp at all costs.. People who say they enjoy doing fates for 50 levels are full of crap and just "like" them because of all the exp.

You could just tab target if you cant see anything. As a bard I just tab, hit one skill and hit tab to go to the next target

Yeah it sucks. Costa Del Sol was really bad the past few days too. And ppl spam the hell out of the crab one that drops the minion.

Dude, you don't play MMO's for fun, you play it for the XP! Fun it what you do after you logout, honest.

It might just be me but fewer, bigger mobs that take time to kill seems more epic to me than masses of mobs that die when you sneeze on them.

Fates with 100+ player zergs are the most abhorrent thing I've ever experienced in an MMO.

Give it a bit..there won't be big groups spamming fates all day soon enough. There will still be people doing it, just not like it is now.

I'm finding fates to be nearly impossible for me to stay locked on anything,i like doing them for company seals.Any tips on locking on targets and or how auto target works etc. would be greatly appreciated

I actually enjoy the FATE zergs. It's good, mindless chaos that's a nice break from the storyline. Not sure how people can put up with doing it all day though.

It's all in part to get us primed fast for the end game content supposedly next month. That's only my op though.

Just gotta let the rush die down and the population spread out a bit. Most FATEs right now have been total zerg rushes, but I've also encountered a few in areas where there haven't been a lot of people and its just me and maybe 1 or 2 other guys struggling against a FATE boss. I imagine once people spread out in levels a lot more, stop playing and move on, etc. FATEs will feel pretty different from what they do now. There will be times where you are going to wish for a zerg when its been 5 minutes and you've only gotten a FATE boss down to 50% health.

Unfortunately the groups of mobs are the only ones you really have a chance at maximizing XP on as the 15 min NMs in Coerthas die in 15 seconds due to the horde of 1000 people zerging them.

I agree with the OP. I think it's pretty sad that we lost the classic exp party grind to these mindless zergfests.

This seriously is the perfect description of 'em.

I love the fates when it is just a clusterfeck of activity, 50 goblins, 200 players. Explosioins, shiny things, carbies, boom, bshaw!!!!

It is mental and a nice laughable 5-10 mins from other activities.

However, I do wish there was a way to be automatically grouped during fates - It can be annoying to attract aggro from 10 mobs and obviously a healer will struggle to click on someone need healing due to the aforementioned clusterfeck orgy.
