I'm not asking for IP blocking, before you gusy think about that. I'm asking for those that purchased EU games FINAL FANTASY XIV to let them join only EU servers, same goes with NA and JP server. The reason MOST players can't get in its because we have idiots from NA and JP trying to get in EU servers I can't login to my character because of them sorry to say this...

This is what destroyed Final fantasy XI in the 1st place didn't have many EU players MOST of them were NA or JP players....
and I still think they have low amount of EU players here still...
They have copied the idea from (guild war 2 FATE IDEA) I'm sure they can copy WoW idea for Servers.

How about no. The "idiots" were on ragnarok before you showed up, and it's a server recommended for EU, not an EU-only server. Besides, the servers are placed in Canada, so strictly speaking there are no EU servers. If you think that wanting to play in a global community is idiotic, then I pity you.

Also such a system would break up a lot of communities and one like mine would stop playing altogether if our members could not play on the same server. -

You're on Ragnarok? Well, here's your problem in a nutshell. Of all the servers having issues with logins, it's the Legacy servers that have it the worst. Because of all the whining and crying during the Alpha and Beta about 1.0 players and their supposed impact on economy and accessibility, they were all forced to play on all of 10 servers, 5 per region. Now, there were alot of players at the end of 1.0's life, the game having finally started to be something enjoyable. Take an installed player base, cram them into 10 servers and then open the floodgates... yes, the Legacy servers were hit just as hard with new players as the rest of the servers. Problem here, the servers weren't empty beforehand. Dare say I'd think the Legacy servers boast character counts that dwarf the rest of the servers. Segregating the regions wouldn't do a thing to alleviate that, only allowing 1.0 players to migrate will.

Non-legacy are just as busy, if fact I'd say the same as legacy servers. There just aren't enough servers for the sheer amount of people and SE had NO servers ready to be brought online if needed. Poor planning on SE's part and this is their second (third if you count 1.0 and 2.0 as seperate) MMO launch and they have experiences of all other MMO launches from other companies too.Quote:

Please, don't necro this. As far as the discussion, region-locking is really not something I'd go for. The reason why I said this is, what if an NA/EU person went to go study in Japan? Would you deny them playing with their friends in between classes and sightseeing? I did this this past summer, and the stressball that is studying abroad was eased by being able to play with my friends. Thing is, over there you can't access regular hulu, crunchyroll, or even google without it auto switching to the Japanese site (or not being available at all). So, yeah, region/IP locking? Not a good idea.
