To the 1.0 Players: Do you plan to sub?

I am just curious as to the amount of 1.0 players that plan to sub to the game after the 2 week trial. Me? I am still very much on the fence more leaning to the won't sub side.

My reasons are well, lets see, boring generic combat, leveling a 2nd class will suck due to a lack of quests to do, fate farming has already gotten old and my first class is not even 50 (fates are also way to efficent for leveling), leves are very limited so they won't get me far and I try to save them for Miner/botanist because those 2 classes are by far the worse classes in the game to level due to how low the exp they get for gathering is.

So I am kinda stuck atm, I mean after I get my main class to 50, I don't know if I'd want to level another class mostly due to how I'd be forced to level it. Personally I think every class should get their own quests from npcs in usual quest hubs even if they have to reuse the same quest.

So, anyway, Do you plan to sub? if not why?

I already subbed and lvled several classes, lvling a class without quests is no problem since there's fates ^^

leveling is incredibly easy just doing hunting log and fates. I leveled acn 40-50 in one night of fates in coerthas, mor dhonna, bluefog. I plan to subscribe this is loads better than 1.0

i think every class do have their own quests
the ones that you get every 5 level

i am no 1.0 player but i feel you
fate grinding is the most effective yet annoying way for leveling in this game
if you don't fate grind, your progression will be halt like 1/10 times -_-"
if only they can adjust the exp rewards from levequests, i'll be glad

Yeah it is better than 1.0, My problem is I just get bored too easly, I find fates extremly boring but they are also the best way to level. I dunno the entire game just feels trivial to me. I'm not a fan of these new age of mmo's since wow where its like "rush to level cap then raid for gear thats pointless to even bother with" I dunno maybe I am just burnt out or something.. Anyway back to doing fates in Coerthas since its the only efficent way to level... wheee fun *yawn*

I know where you're coming from, I don't bother with the FATES are they are both dull and usually over by the time I get to the area. The story that they are telling in the game is interesting though and I'm prepared to level at a slower pace and enjoy that story, I'm not convinced that I need to rush to 50 as what will I even do when I get there.

Yes, I plan to stick around for a long time. I've enjoyed myself in 1.0, but wasn't able to do all the available content due to "lack of free time" combined with lag issues in harder content.

In ARR i'm enjoying myself even more, so i've changed my subscription period from 90 days to 180.

There's so much to do in the game already, for instance:

leveling 8 battle classes, 8 crafting classes an 3 gathering classes.
unlocking classes/jobs and doing their class/job quests
Running (I think) 16 dungeons (hard versions are on the way)
Battling Primals
Exploring
Getting to know the world through (side) story quests
FATEs
Guildleves and Guildhests
Collecting Relic weapons

I'll be busy for a while and then some. (^_^ )

It can get tedious but all MMO's are tedious lol. I just like the feel of FFXIV and I love the people I play with.

Your forgetting for those 8 combat classes, 7 your going to level by running the exact same fates over and over, since there are no new quests aside from class quests every 5th level to do, or your going to do leves. Only dungeon I have run more than once has been Cutters cry, the others just haven't been worth the time to run twice. Exp sucks, and half the time even if an item is for my class the dumb game refuses to let me roll on it.

ive subbed, but bare in mind, im only focusing on blm and wtm, you dont have to level everything, no one is making you do that, SE sure arent doing it, the option is there, theres also a reason why even in other mmos, people only have a few alts, altaholics are few in between.

will say, there isnt enough quests anyways, be nice, gives more options, options is good, never take that away from players, need more quests, even generic ones, which is why blizzard have so much quests its beyond ridiculous per zone, the options are there and make sure everything is stream lined

No, I didn't forget. Like I mentioned, there more to do then just dungeons and FATEs. While there aren't enough sidequests to level all 8 battle classes, the are still quite a few of them all across Eorzea.

I'm from Gridania myself, but when i'm leveling my Arcanist, I would travel to La Noscea to do the side quests there. Then there's the Hunting Log. While that too will not get you to 50 just by completing each hunting log rank, it does give you a fair amount of XP. Don't forget that you can level on Guildleves and Guildhests too.

The XP you get from dungeons is higher then farming mobs outside of FATEs. You can use food to gain an extra XP bonus as well (on top of the rested XP and the free company XP bonus action). I still enjoy running the low level dungeons. When I would help linkshell members through it, I would bring along my low level class.

With every content patch, more quests, dungeons and FATEs will be added to the game.

I will sub once the free time dries up

I have a 1.0 character. Since my PC can actually play this game (and my PS3 can play it much better than my PC can) I'll definitely be subbing up. In fact, I need to just buy $20.00 more Crysta before my time dries up (Oct 9th now, Oct 16 after tonight's maintenance). My Subscription is set to Auto-renew via Crysta at the 180 day mark (darn-it for not being legacy :()

I dont know the game is great but so as Guild Wars 2 and that game dont required a sub.

Even though I did played FFXI for 4 years and I bought this game when it first came out even though it bomb.

I am on the fence with this game.

Even though the log in is stupid.

I dont think I am going to sub because I think this game could of went without a sub model.

Oh yeah, I am already gonna sub. I played 1.0 for a bit, but I was disappointed honestly. I spent forever in Gridania wondering what I was supposed to be doing, since it didn't really give me a clear explanation. At least, I don't think it did... kinda just threw the book at me and said "READ THIS NAO!"
But yeah, definately alot of fun, especially like the crafting, like a less intense (read dangerous) version of EQ2. Can't wait for player housing and chocobo breeding!

I didn't play the 1.0 version but I have played other MMOs (starting at Ultima Online and EQ, then City of Heroes & WoW), for the short amount of time I've been able to play this game I'd say it really is worth the Sub, except for the fact that it can't be played at the moment. If the new servers fix the problems with logging in & I am able to actually play then I'll happily subscribe; if not then I'm done and I'll go play something else.

I played also FFXI: Liked and hate it the whole time. When FF14 came up I hoped for a new "FF11" but with things you can also do in short times.
The disappointment of a not so very good designed successor hit me a face and I was not even sure if I would give 2.0 a chance.

But what should I say, beside the Server probs which they gonna fix in the next days, I am happy as hell. You have a lot of stuff to do, graphics engine runs better, the PS3 version has been released etc.
You can still go hardcore, but also do many things when you got no so much time on some days. And the servers are full of people! This is so nice to see how many people are playing this game.

I might sub for about a 6 months to a year. That seems like a doable timeframe get my remaining classes to lvl 50 and obtain some decent gear for most classes too. With PS4 coming out soon and a few other hot titles, it's going to be hard not to play those too!

I will sub for long. This is very close to FF11 experience/feeling...this is what ive been waiting for.

I'm not sure yet - if I actually was able to play for a week or two and try it out I might give it a month sub and see how I go.

For me there are so many good F2P options at the moment; I am enjoying Rift, LOTRO, Secret World etc so that going back to a sub is hard to do.
