It's almost midnight and I haven't been able to log in for 2 days

Was hopping to make it to lvl 50 before going back to work after a 3 day weekend. Since server is down tomorrow...that's 3 days I won't get to play this wonderful game.

Assuming the new server and maintenance actually correct the issues this time...

I know a few people who havent logged off in 3 or more days, and yet when i do get a chance to run past them they are still in the same spot. I can't get mad at them though cause theres nothing stating they can't afk.

I'm right there with you. Well, less than an hour or two in the last couple days due to 1017.
This issue is only broadening the gap between no-life's and casuals. It's definitely not equally
affecting all players. Some have been constantly logged in and playing since release and have
reached the cap. And some have been able to play less during the time available to them.

I hope they implement an 8 hour limit per day. No one needs to play more than 8 hours in a
24 hour period, and most of us cant on most days.

Maybe that would be a bit extreme, but it would discourage AFK'ing. I actually like the experience
cap they had in 1.0 :/

I'm glad you decided how I'm allowed to budget the 18-19 hours I'm awake.

Being a taru ( er... lalafell) makes it all worthwhile.

They aren't expanding server capacity so overfull servers will still be over full.

You're completely not understanding what is happening tomorrow night. Existing servers will be fine, and will be playable.

Uh I have hes under the misguided perception their are server caps in place.

I'm on a I'll wait and see how this fix actually fixes. I would rather think the worst and throw a party when it proves me 100% wrong. Than to think that it will solve world peace and find it just causes even more issues.

Welcome everyone to the 1017 club.
Everyone is having the same problem, except the AFKers that is, they of course are inconsiderate and only care about themselves but what can I or any of you do; nothing.And please stop acting like you guys know what you are talking about, nobody but SE knows what SE is doing about it. They are the only ones who can fix the problem and if you don't like and don't feel like waiting then return the damn game. I of course am extremely mad but I payed to play and know that it will eventually settle it self out and if it doesn't then I'll gladly take a refund.
I am lvl 25 and should have been 50 I payed extra for AE and so on, but let me ask you this what happens when max out everything; wait for it..... NOTHING you can't do anything. You are going to sit around for 1 whole year waiting for the new expansion pack to come out. Me on the other I will gladly take my time.
To all you who feel the same way I know how you feel lets keep our heads up together.

The problem is getting worse because more slots are taken up by people who won't log out when they're done.

It makes the FFXIV community look selfish. However, there are plenty of considerate people who log out. If everyone helped, the problem wouldn't be so bad.

Thanks to everyone who logs out. Thanks for being part of the community and supporting other FFXIV fans. Maybe we should form Free Companies when we can log back on. 1017 United!
