Like... this error is so annoying that I'm considering not paying a subscription for a game that I cannot play. If I am paying 15 dollars a month, I should be able to play the game whenever I want.
What do you guys think>?

I dont want to have to wait till midnight to login. That means I can only play on the weekends because people have to be up in the morning for you know... real life things
Yeah I think thats a good plan. I just don't care anymore. I'll wait until servers are stable enough and reliable.
I'd much rather pay a subscription for FFXIV than FFMXVII. That said, I enjoy the mess the AFKers are causing and encourage them to make an even bigger mess-- if for no other reason than to hold Square's feet to the fire.
The problem will be extinguished within a month or two. Come back later, if you see fit.
I have not been able to access my server since the end of early access. At lest not when I have time to play!
I would like to play the game I spent money on, and I would like to play it when I have time to play, not MAYBE at 4am, if I'm lucky.
I should have logged in and stayed logged in like all the people that are keeping my server full.
Do you understand how bad of a response is that? Do you understand they have 1 strike already and reputation is bad, in fact reviews are horrid at the moment cause of this choatic mess, do you understand this can be end before it begins. This all could have been fixed if the Square Enix developers implemented an AFK mechanism.
No, I guarantee many are not subbing and I got my $$$ refund cause GameStop knows how bad the launch was, just because they didn't put in an AFK system.
Well tomorrow will probably be the make or break for this game for quite a few. If I recall they are doing maintenance starting at 5pm pacific for the new servers and change to how the duty finder works. When it comes back up whatever time on Wednesday we shall see if we continue to see the issues. I'm hoping for the best. When I do get to play the game is great. But as I states WHEN I get in.
It is a little discouraging. But I definitely am at least giving them a couple months. I love the game when I can get in. The log-in trouble is a real annoyance but not a deal killer for me.
Yet.
So obviously A) you are working for Square Enix or are just a fanboy or fangirl. or B) You dont understand logic.
They said they would give us 1 free week. Does that sound like 2 extra months of time to you? During that time will you not have to pay to play or not? I'm pretty sure you will. So yes, while people are not paying right now... they did pay for the game which also costs money. The game did not come free with the local walmart buy an orange get ffxiv free. It costed MONEY. Now I understand a few messups, but this is ridiculous. How can you keep defending them>? Listen... if you seriously think people are going to pay 15 dollars a month for a game they cant even play during normal hours... then you are either delusional or just stupid.
Your response is worse, I guarantee you. If anything, I'm being realistic--it's likely not going to be fixed by Wednesday. And a lot of you are failing to understand that an AFK timer can be easily circumvented; it would fix the problem for half a day, and then no one would be able to log in again. That's not a solution.
Also: I want to know where you're getting your stats from. Critic previews and reviews have been mostly positive, so have User reviews. Rock-bottom reviews are coming from angry morons who are rating their login experience and not the actual game.
1. I'm speaking specifically about that week and the three day extension on the Early Access period. Get your head out of your ass.
2. They've given away a free year and discounted the subscription heavily in the past (down to three dollars a month). From a business perspective, I could see them doing it again if it meant they could keep a steady base of subscribers. Whether they would give away an entire month is cause for debate (given that Wada is no longer the President), but it's also not entirely impossible.
I am really torn with the game, I mean its not a great MMO but its most def playable and there are things that is very much enjoyable. MMOs take couple years after released to be polished and I get that. BUT, the way they have handled all the server issues while still promising the world in future patches really eats at me. Yoshida should be a politician, I want to believe the guy but chances are its just bullshit.
I really hate make or breaking a game on server issues. But, I took a week off with half of it dedicated to this game and I feel more stressed out going back to work then when I left work. I just don't want that kind of stress when I am looking for a game to just get lost in for a couple hours a night.
Its make or break wednesday for me.
It's not like just waiting until they fix the problem is a viable solution. We must demand reparations!
We all (1.0 players & newcomers) have a certain free to play period, and because of these issues
many of us (the vast majority) are effectively being ripped off! Seriously , like we have to wait until
a subscription fee is necessary before we can play w/o issue? NO!
They MUST extend the free to play period for all users! By at least as long as these issue have been
present. You know, 1.0 was free to play for several months because of customer dissatisfaction?
I'm hoping SE does the right thing and holds off on the subscription fee's for at least a week, or two.
On a related issue, one thing that is really beginning to irk me about 1017 is the message it displays:
"The server is currently full. Please wait for an opening"?
This implies that the user would be some how aware or notified of an open spot to get in, such as
a "queue" ARR~gggg!
They have extended it. They are already giving everyone 1 week extra and possibly more depending what happens on the major fix on wednesday and like most people that wednesday will decide for most people whether they will stick to this game or not
I get that there will be server issues. It happens, whatever. But I have spent 5 hours of my day on the login screen. Hurray for a holiday.
If there were a queue, even if it went upwards into the thousands, I would have been totally fine with it. But no, the only time I seem to get into a queue is when I'm number 15 in line and it takes mere seconds to get in.
I just want to kill Titan, dammit. :|
can i hav ur stuf?

yeah...plagued by this on my day off today...give it a like a share; get the word out!
This is make it or break it time this week, either they fix it now or I'm out. I'm sure many agree with that.
The holiday gaming season is nearly upon us, and I'm not wasting money on a game I can't play when there's way better things coming, I gave this a shot during 1.0 and SE did nothing but apologize....they begged us to come back for ARR and this was our reward.
Well I'm fed up, even the most tolerant of people dump their worthless spouses eventually.
Been keep logging for 4 hours, this is ridiculous. If they don't fix it within a week, i quit, they don't care, i don't care.
you do realize that the log in process is part of the game right...if you can't log in you can't play simple as that, now I know other MMO's have had bad experiences with a launch but they at least keep you informed about what is being done to help fix the problem not only that but they don't have 2 months to fix the issue, I really hope I can play after the maintenance but I don't think adding a couple servers is going to take care of the big issue of the servers just filling up.
They cant reasonably charge money until the game can be fully utilized. I smell a class action lawsuit the day they start charging and this problem persists. Just saying.
They're adding and expanding servers on wednesday. The game hasn't been out for more than one week. They're already going to give you a week of extension for the trouble so in all actually you wouldn't be losing any of your trial days.
If you're really going to unsubscribe because of that then don't let the door hit you on the way out.
I love this...
When server issues happened in beta 4 the crowd screamed "you have no rite to complain this a beta you havent payed for anything" even though im a 1.0 player that payed back then, and I was bitching because release was so soon, I knew those issues were a sign of things to come (been doing mmos for 15 years)
When server issues happened in early release the crowd screamed you still havent payed they will fix it by full release
Now that server issues are happening in live people are saying you cant complain cuz you arent paying a monthly sub yet.
Whats next? We have more severe server issues into the next month and I cant complain cuz im only paying monthly and didnt purchase a full year in one billing sub?
omgwtfbbq
12 hours now of failed attempts to log in while all of my friends play because they were smart enough not to log out. A few got kicked and got right back in. WTF, SE. Thanks for wasting my entire day with this garbage. If this happens wednesday I'm out. There are better ways to spend my time.
Well, I for one am not going to unsubscribe, I haven't a subscription to cancel.
However, upon SE initiating subscription fees, or directly prior to, if I'm not able
to access the game during the hours I have available to play,
then I won't be subscribing.
Not like I paid anything for it anyway, not since 1.0 release.
Anyone who wants my items will be welcome to them at that time.
(Currently only level 13 due to this horrendous issue) so the items
I'm sure wont do you much good.
Also, who has ever been hit by a door on the way out?.
I'd like to see that just once, I imagine it would be quite humorous.
They will not charge a sub until the Servers are fully operational, if they did that would be bad business. With 1.0 they didn't charge a dime when the servers were bad ( this was before anyone knew about the whole game in it's entirety.) In fact, they game 1 free month at that point in time before they did it indefinitely, if problems persist I wouldn't be surprised if they game 1 free month.
and before anyone asks, im not going through SE to get it because the last time i put in a ticket they closed it with out responding and told me they didn't have time for it.
This is a huge problem. I have managed to get 1 character to 20. This is just ONE of the issues that is causing me to want to uninstall FF14 and not bother with it again. It looks great but it's nothing if you can't even get on to play it. Not going to waste $15 a month to be told 'Server is full, try again later'.
Simply put, they've known about server issues since Phase4 at the latest. Normally when a company receives information that servers are inadequate, they upgrade the servers ASAP. SE did not seeing that was 2 weeks ago and they're finally trying to upgrade the servers, now that their wallet's finally at risk. We've been shown that SE won't react to a known issue when it comes up and will instead wait for it to start actually hurting them. Both with 1.0, when people commented on a lot of the issues with 1.0 during the beta without having them addressed only to have the game flop, and now 2.0 with the servers. If this isn't fixed it could easily push someone over the edge.
