Hi , i wanted know if i can have a "pet" , i bought a chocobo but it s still so little lol

Theres a few u can buy from various vendors as well as some from quests. Not sure if u expect it to lkke do anything though...they just follow u around

Those are actually called Minions, the real pets are the one participating in the game and capable takig comands - like Carbuncle pets for Arcanists.

Ya...he refered to a lil chocobo so i guess i just assumed he ment that lil minion one poplin out of an egg

Only arcanist and summoner get real pets that are class specific. Anyone can use non-combat minions. You get them from quests and fates. Around level 30 every class also gets to use their chocobo as a combat pet after doing the quest for it.

The only class that gets 'pets' sofar as i know, that are actual combat pets, are the summoners.

Yes i was mean mammet 001 , cherry bomb and wayward hatchling. I bought one and he just follow me and always little, trought he can attack or level like a pet.

They are just there to be there.
The only ones who can fight with you are your Chocobo at level 30 when you get him to fight, and your ACN/SUM/SCH pets.
Pretty much this:
Companion: The Chocobo.
Mount: Coruel/Chocobo/Goobue.
Pet: ACN and co. pets.
Minions: The lil' things that be cute and do nothing lol.

You receive your chocobo mount by progressing through the main story and joining a Grand Company and obtaining the required amount of GC Seals.

At level 30 there is a quest in Camp Tranquil in South Shroud that gives you the quest to unlock your chocobo companion.

Mount
Defeat Ifrit continue story line until your quests tell you to talk to a Grand Company officer (allows you to join respective GC). After this point you need 2,000 seals to buy a chocobo license from your respective GC's Quartermaster. Talk to Chocobo Keeper in that town with the license and you have yourself a chocobo.

Companion
Main story line related. Companion now Available will appear across your screen when you've done the correct one. It is around Lv.30.

i dont think the companion battle is main quest related tho wasnt for me... i went to camp tranquil n looked for the fiesty chocobo quest was 34-35 when got it since was waitin for main to take me there

Perhaps in a future expansion update Minions (Vanity Non-Combat Pets) could be given the ability to grow and evolve into Combat pets... However if such an expansion were to come out, I'd say I would be at least a year away.
