Windows client crashes

I keep getting these really random crashes with the Windows client. It has me nearly terrified to do anything when I'm able to log in because I never know what I'm going to do to cause the crash. I thought it was graphics drivers, so I upgraded them from the current WHQL drivers (320.49) to the most recent beta (326.80), and I'm still randomly getting crashes.

Attached below is the information from FFXIV System Information tool. If additional information is required, I'll do my best to provide it. Any help would be appreciated.

This is a regression in the client program I am very sure. I won't get it last week and now I get it every time I am in the game playing and alt-tabbed.
My computer configuration stayed the same (that computer I only use it for FF14 and FF14 forum bowsing. I do my other works on my other 5 computers), no windows upgrade or whatnot.

Interesting thing is it never happens on title screen/character selection screen.

I've had the client crash a couple of times since EA. Most often when alt-tabbed. Next time it happens i'll try to remember to get a crash report and post it.

I've had it happen plenty when ALT-TAB'ing, but it's also happened randomly for no reason as well. Yesterday afternoon I was fighting the last set of minibosses in Tam-Tara Deepcroft and I crashed out. With the way the servers currently are I wasn't able to get back in until about 11:30 that same evening.

I figured it was a regression of some sort with a conflict in with 3D drivers. Are you guys also running Nvidia cards? GTX560 here.

I had the same issue as you, I did update to the new 326.80 beta drivers and it didnt help (much)....what DID help though, is I moved to a Japanse Server (I am in Western Canada) so the primetime wouldnt affect me as much. I am almost confident that it has everything to do with the servers themselves. I have done virtually everything to figure it out (a variety of past drivers, memtests, pulling memory, a variety of PC cleaning tools). Try playing on a less populated server (if you can find one) and see if that helps you. Yes that means re-rolling but you can always transfer to a server of your choice if you need to be with friends.

I am also having the same issues. It happens totally at random during play. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling FFXIV and updating drivers to no avail.

I set a new record today I think. Two game client crashes, and four BSODs.

I'm tired of reporting all these crash reports, I've gathered over 20 of them in the past week.

Bump.

Still having the problem. I've moved hardware around, changed various drivers, uninstalled drivers, etc., but to no avail. Today alone I've had three crashes in about three hours. 13:38, 14:26, 15:26. Square-Enix support closed my last ticket without ever getting back to me, so I'm submitting another ticket once I finish this post.

I am getting this issue today I have not changed my setting, and I keep crashing every time I enter my password and click on the login button, tryed every trouble shooting possible and even uninstalled the game, and tryed again same problem..... I am not sure what is going on here :(

I've been having this issue since launch. I couldn't participate in open beta since my motherboard was out for repair at the time, but the previous beta tests ran perfectly fine for me. This problem started with the official release of the game.

Same issue I'm afraid though I got the game yesterday. Been having random crashes since and have downgraded and updated the drivers of my video card several times to no avail. Even reinstalled the game several times, changed graphic settings but still nothing. The crashes are so random, it is hard to tell if a tweak fixed it or not.

I had one random crash since launch and after switching from full screen to full screen (windowed) I haven't had an issue. I alt+tab ALL the time.

I'm having this issue as well but only when I alt tabbed. Tried everything the other tries even switching resolution and to full screen windowed. I'm think its the game client itself but I don't know why its not been posted as a known issue yet.

I had the same problem as described by others in this thread and I FIXED it! At first my game would lock up and crash whenever I alt tabbed. Then it started to crash even when I was just playing and didn't alt tab. Then my computer started shutting off and not turning on for a few minutes after. My problem kept getting worse and worse as time went on. I ran many hardware checks on my computer and found all the components seemed to be working fine.

However, when I looked up my power supply unit model number the Thermaltake TR2 600NL2NC, I found that it was a defective model and was known to cause problems like I was having. Anyway, I went and bought a Corsair psu and installed it. I have not disconnected/crashed/or had my computer shutdown while playing FFXIV.

The morale of the story guys: Check your hardware. It seems to be a very select part of the population having these types of problems and if it was a program problem a lot more people would be having the same issues. I also noticed that my friend who had the exact same rig as me minus the power supply didn't have any of my issues.
