I know the feeling, it stings all the more when you log in within 15 mins, only to get d/c after 2 and then spend 7 hours trying to log back in to be met with 1017 at every turn... That's my day in a nutshell.
Been struggling to. I noe dat feels.
Yep. Not an impressed or happy customer right now.
...Yep. Same problem here. Goodbye 3 day weekend.
Maybe they could send Blizzard a check for $100K or so for some development help, they've had queues that could hold 1000 characters since 2007.
4 days for me lol.
But I pure could not get on at all today...
There's this wonderful thing called doing something else, which all of you could do instead of endlessly trying to log in. Just wait till wednesday when the server situation is worked out.
Isn't it amusing that they'll be taking monday off at the data centers? gg -_-
No more of this, ok? We are paying customers. We bought a product and we expect the product to work. It not working is a failure on their part and something they should be fixing faster. Hell, with their income and experience and the knowledge of pre-order sales and estimated physical copies bought they should be more prepared. They weren't. This was a failure entirely on the corporation's part all because the higher ups wanted to save some money instead of making the product work right from the start. No more of this cop out bullshit for corporations, ok? Let's not be corporatists. They are not your friends, they don't care about you, they don't do a good job unless you bitch and even go so high as to make legal issues of it.
Hell, why did FFXIV get a remake in the first place? Cause it was hurting their bottom dollar with all the anger. Time to do the same.
we shoudln't have to be dealing with this junk since we are PAYING customer even tho we're on free trial it still is a paying customer and this is BS close to quitting a good game cause they put a very small limit on worlds and they have TON OF RMT BOTS THAT NEVER!! LOG WHICH ARE TAKING UP SPACE FOR OTHERS!!!!
THAT CONFIRM IT RMT ARE SE PAID MOST LIKELY
they dont wanna kick all the AFK 24/7 but if someone doesnt pay they will kick them inmeddiatly no matters if he/she played
You people need to learn to mouse macro. I just set it up and walk away, even if I do log in with the macro playing, the mouse is just clicking on the game screen and not doing anything and when I get back to my keyboard after a few hours of errands and playing with my son, etc.......I am in. If not, I do something else. I'm NOT going to sit at my keyboard and endlessly try and log in...that's why automation was invented. “Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” Google: Ghost Mouse, ReMouse, mouse recorder, mouse macro
Oy. Lets add insult to injury...was 33 in queue and then the World Full message popped up over top of the queue message.
So...after finally reading the sticky threads regarding login issues of all sorts I tried what it said. I rebooted all my equipment. Guess what? PROBLEM SOLVED! I"M PLAYING LIKE CRAZY RIGHT NOW...
Seriously, try it it worked after me trying to login since 11 am this morning.
If you really don't like it, then ask for a refund and leave. The game functions perfectly, with a few bugs here and there that have either not been noticed or are being fixed. Implying that the inability to log into the server is a problem is an incredibly selfish thing to say, as it indirectly implies that your inaction is harmful or otherwise unwelcome to the servers and their general populous. The developers are working on the problem, and that problem will be fixed, so have some patience and never forget that you have to option to just leave.
I'd just like to point out that the status of your computer has no effect on the space of the server, restarting your computer doesn't automatically reserve you a spot on the server. You just happened to get lucky and log in at the specific moment there was space available.
The game functions fine eh? Then why can't so many get online to even play? Oh wait, because the product doesn't work fine. It's more than just the core game that's promised. Otherwise they might have well as made FFXIV another single player game. Stop defending a multi-billion dollar company that could have avoided this hassle in the first place if they had put proper resources into the product. Instead, they skimped where they could all for their corporate greed. I don't blame or hate the developers, they did a good job with the core game, I blame the higher ups whose greed keeps them from doing the right thing for the customers.
Honestly, people like you make me sad. Sad that there are such corporate kiss asses who'll let them abuse them and say "please sir can I have another" instead of fighting for your consumer rights.
If the product wasn't working fine, which it is, then no one would be able to play right now. I'm sorry that you can't log into your character, which from the looks of it isn't too much of a tragedy because there's plenty of generic elf girls running around as is. Why don't you design a multi-million dollar game with absolutely no problems, perfect servers, and a massive player base that all want to play at the exact same time? I'm sure you'd make for an absolutely fantastic developer given that you seem to be so full of knowledge on the topic.
But in all seriousness you should have a bit of patience and wait till wednesday, unless you plan on continuing to act like a complete child along with everyone else on the forums complaining. It's no ones fault that the game is so popular that all the servers are filled to their brim. I'll defend SE all I want, don't tell me to do otherwise. I like their games, I love FFXIV:ARR and understand the problems they are having with the servers enough that I'm willing to actually have patience and not whine like a child.
You know what really gets to me? I know there are issues with the server capacity, so I log off when I go to bed or go out or something - I don't think only of myself, and stay logged in but AFK all day and night. I let those other people waiting to play have a chance too. So I try to get back on, and I'm locked out until midnight or later because there are so many people on.
I guess no good deed goes unpunished.
Purple, there is no excuse for this. SE has access to every single bit of information regarding pre-orders, how many people played in the beta, and even how much people are talking about it on the internet - they knew how many people to expect, but they skimp out on the servers to save money. I'm not blaming the production or development team, but I agree that the corporate side of SE is just horrible, and cares for their wallet, not their consumers. Though that's just every company these days, games aren't really made for quality, but to make a quick buck. There is no excuse to have servers fit to serve 10-20% of the population that owns the game.
I've been trying to log on all day. :/
I was able to get in this morning but I sadly got dc'd and have not been able to get in since then. I was really looking forward to getting a bunch of play time in on this long weekend. Luckily, I have had work to do all day while I try to log in but it's still extremely frustrating. Today has been awful with error 1017. I get the error all the time but I usually can get in after about 30 minutes of trying.
Thank you for being the decent sort to think of others. I've noticed a lot of AFK people hanging around sanctuaries in particular, some not having moved even after I return an hour or so later.
It'd be nice if something could be implemented to kick people that have been idle for several hours, and free up space for those attempting to log on.
You do realize that when you purchase an item, or pay for a service in this case that that's exactly what you're 'entitled' to, correct? The ability to use the service or product in the manner in which it is intended within reason? A lot of people consider not being able to log into the service for hours, or days even unreasonable. Yet here you are, refusing to listen to reason and defending horrible practices like a dolt. It's pretty funny, if not borderline trolling. I was more than willing to accept issues with the betas, hell even early access as that was a 'gift' - but it's post launch now and it's time to get real. By now these issues should've been resolved, that's not and hasn't ever been an unreasonable request. Keep posting the garbage you've posting if you will, but from here on it's in poor taste.
I've always been that way, even when I was in the age that I should have been a little troll and ass in general. I just wish more people could think of someone other than themselves - so many people these days just step on everyone that gets in their way just to get what they want. It's funny, though, I treat everyone as nicely as I can, but no one gives me the time of day. :P
Ain't life great?
I really wished they did that. It is so annoying the people who stay online 24/7 for no reason. There should be a kick timer. I swear I have seen people that stay in the same spot that I can come back the next day and they are still there. It is ridiculous! Also the guy who is protecting SE needs to stop. The news post about having more players than expected is crazy. This is the worst launch ever. The free trial is not really free if you have to pay for the game! Also the part of the refund, the terms says no refunds allowed. They will not give you a refund. Please atleast read something instead of running your mouth!
Someone should let all you derpi know that gaming gets congested on weekends. Square promises to have the new log-in servers up and running early this week. Lets calm down.

Official announcement regarding this topic. GG.
7 hours, bully for you. over 12 here on my last day off.
Finally got on. :) .... and then got kicked. :(
14 hours, not even a queue. I really have to wonder what SE was thinking. "So we have 300k preorders, huh? Well we'll give enough space for 10k people to play at a time - that should be enough.", "Good idea!"
