Nope.
/10char.
Its like error 37 reborn! HAH !
The problem is: They have LOST 100's of millions over the last couple years with all the other failed games.
they have to pay off backers, the yakuza, employees, pay for overhead expenses, make sure their mistresses are happy, pay for the equipment they bought, and make sure they have enough money for love hotels and hostess bars as well.
Dat Title screen, I can stare at it all day.
It's not like they can just snap their fingers and more servers suddenly appear and alleviate all the problems. Hardware has to be purchased, rack space has to be obtained at the data center, then the servers have to be installed, configured, and brought online. If they just slapped together a solution it would come back to bite them in the ass. Give them time, they are supposed to get everything resolved sometime this week. Yes, it sucks that there are issues, and yes it sucks even more that it's a holiday weekend in the U.S. and we can't be exceedingly lazy and sit on our butts playing a video game for 3 days straight.
God, I'm losing interest in FF fast because of this server problem thing... one more day of not logging in and I don't think it's worth it anymore -_-
Imagine how much money they'd be making if this launch would have been even barely successful. Considering the terrible decisions SE has made over the past few years, they must really be hating themselves right now because there is money falling through their hands right now.
and what does this post have anything to do with a new techincal issue?? you are the child here complaining for the sake of complaining..... dude we know there is an issue we also know they are fixing it and how they are fixing and when its gonna be done. they are also giving us free play time. grow up learn how the real world works kido.

MEANWHILE! IN THE NA/EU SERVER ROOMS!
Because server installation, networking, reprogramming, and burn-in only takes a couple hours right?
the whole process is a little more involved, as in most of the time you need electricians to provide extra circuits, sometimes even an extra transformer.
Then you have to purchase battery backups, and additional hardware/server racks to compliment the extra servers. It sucks because it probably wont be resolved until after next week.
So, since Yoshi-P said the fix would hopefully be here by Wednesday (~2 days from now), and tomorrow is a US/Canada holiday (people will be trying to log in all day again), you should probably just drop it now and gain an extra free day to do something more fun than worry about logging in. :)
ya'll niggas be postin in a spiderman bread

Too bad doesn't mention anything about free transfers since whats the point of going to a new server to start all over when some people have gotten to 50 already and this I have no fucking idea how they did unless there the luckiest bastards alive and never got a error and never logged off.[/QUOTE]
no but they are upgrading hte data centers and current servers as well so that will help the issue we are currently having as well as giving incoming new people a lower populated server to start on also helping the log in problems we are having. its a win win. plus giving free game time
Yes because bringing a server online takes only a couple of seconds... If you follow the dev tracker OP you'd know what is going to happen this week, specifically on Wednesday (Japan time). It's on the main forum page, just click the forum title at the top of the page and look to your right...
i know a lot of you may dislike GBTV, but just listen to what the Monty guy has to say on the matter of servers, etc. will shed some light on the matter (not that anyone didnt already know it or will actually take what he says to heart)

True that. However if these problems are still apparent next month it's going to be an epidemic. It'll be an entire different ball game if we're paying to play without actually being able to play...
On a more positive and realistic note the teams are working hard to fix these issues. The LAST thing they'd want is for us to not be able to play. Yoshi was almost drawn to tears when the problems first arose. So give 'em some slack. Launches are always a bit bumpy... The update for more servers and extended capacity is supposed to go out Wednsday. Until then play another game given XIV hasn't spoiled your taste for anything else ;)
Why are people assuming they'll have to pay to transfer to the new servers or have to start all over? Far as I know it's par for the course when adding Worlds in an MMO that transfers are freely given (have to properly populate the new Worlds) and when a transfer happens your character data (levels, items, quest progress etc.) goes with you. You don't start over. I played FFXI and have witnessed server expansions. SE has never charged for transfers that are required to populate a new server...
