NA/EU character list down again

Hasn't appeared for me in the last 10 minutes.

Same. Just trying to get to Tuesday to see if this capacity increase will actually improve things. If not, it's cancel time.

I keep getting a greyed out start button. I can't even GET to the character select.

edit: Just as I post that it's not greyed out anymore...

I'm getting really tired of this....

my pc has been foced shut down several times by ff14 ive never heard of a game able to do that but its happened several times now all on the character select screen.

Its a bunch of bullshit. They should of been ready for this. I can see a few days after launch and dismissing the early access even as throwaway get your shit together time. But they knew this was coming in p4 and its still happening. Im with avaughnimous up there, they have about one more week to get this stuff straight or there will be no sub from me after the 30 days are up. Its the only option left to me as a consumer.

I took a gamble with turning my PC off last night instead of staying logged in. I lost. :(

There was just an in game message about emergency maintenance (Ragnarok.) I have yet to see anything about it on the Lodestone.

It's too late for them to make a second, second impression. They've already made their second first impression with the launch of a broken mess of login servers. I have no less than a dozen or so friends who were interested in this game after the failure of 1.0 who have once again been turned off by the server disaster.

Squeenix basically flushed all their good PR prior to the release of the game down the toilet by not A) Anticipating the demand B) Actually looking at their preorder numbers C) Failure to prepare for full servers with backup servers ready to be turned on D) Failure to address the current issues in a prompt manner (such as feeding their own cycle of failure by not immediately patching in an anti-afk)

So we're going to have an apology event (I hope) for a game that was an apology.

i get the na/eu servers but the japanese list is down (which is where my character is)
presumably because all the NA/EU people went to the japanese servers because the NA/EU servers were dead (to be clear, i'm not one of those people i got stuck there because i'm legacy)

Oh no down again lol, I really love the game but this is becoming quite bothersome x.x call me a fool but im still hoping the best and will still be subscribing :3

Im not one to complain about servers being down, but is there any information on it?

I don't feel comfortable with a pay 2 play game that the company won't issue an ETA (or a "we have no ETA" message) and a short description of the problem somewhere.

The server status sites I've been to say that they are up, but I haven't seen them in the list.

This is solely due to the lobby server being over loaded with all the request. I don't know who thought it would be a good idea to feed 40 servers through the same matching/logging server, but at least there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

I've played a ton of MMOs over a 15 year period and, even though my memory seems to get away once in a while, I cannot remember one that was THIS badly managed in regards to being able to log in. That's not to say that they didn't have login issues, sure they pretty much all did, but after over a week since launch? Nothing comes to mind.

I'm pretty understanding and patient when it comes to things breaking (coming from an IT point of view) but this...this makes me a sad panda something fierce.

I hope there are soon new servers

All JP servers are locked for new characters

I was going to make a new thread asking how the release compared to other released, but basically you just answered my question, would be interested to know how XI was on release,

Well, i was able to log into the server and attempt to log into my character... baby steps

Ive been trying to log in since last night and still can't.. I never thought I'd ever think about just not logging off and going afk over night..but its actually starting to look like a good idea.. this makes me sad

WoW, game was down for over a week right after launch. and was spotty had pretty much the same login issues, and ques that would take well over an hour...

Boy that sounds familiar...hell, a cursoury google search of "Guild Wars 2 launch Issues" turn up that anyone saying it was totally smooth is lieing through their teeth.

I've yet to play an MMO that on launch WEEK is up more often than it's in maintenance

when it released in Japan it was basically identical (which is to say , A Disaster) with the added bonus of having PlayOnline also being congested to hell and back... which basically makes these login issues seem paltry in comparison, there is actually a List of the various bugs, fixes and updates that were done to the game before it released in the US but I'm having trouble finding it

and down they go again. This is by far the worst launch in the history of all MMOs. There is no excuses. The game is good, not great but good and the lack of server stability just kills the game.

Me too. 90k is starting to bother me more than 1017.

Got kicked while finishing a story-instance. Now getting all sorts of errors and straight up getting kicked out of the client. Meh least a got a bit done since 7am.

I'm amazed that as time goes on there seems to be MORE problems and errors as opposed to less.

Seems your memory has completely gone or you have extremely selective and biased memory, there have been far worse launches than this

And now you know why I'm posting too. :(

Zoned into Darkhold and got 90k-ed. Now the launcher sometimes screws up as well as client login. Got to NA/EU servers once, tried to log in, character was 3102-ed. Client force-crashed itself, now alternating between not showing NA list to not even highlighting the START button.

EDIT: It appears to follow a similar issue from the JP worlds.

"During the following time period, players were being disconnected from instances on the Japan data center Worlds."

This happened shortly before NA/EU started.

Every time an online game launches, you'll find people who say it's the worst launch in history. At this point it's just like Reality Television. It's always going to be there, and it's always going to be retarded.
