Somebody should pay for this ridicolus launch

Thanks god Yoshida cried talking about this RIDICOLUS launch. It's a complete fail, somebody, or better THE PERSON WHO:
1)has chosen the number of servers
2)has chosen the kind of servers
3)has chosen to allow 5000 maximum access (anyway this is connected to point 1 and point 2)

this guy should be fired or at least dismissed.

The guy your referring to is Yoshi, who made this great game. Just wait for 10 days to get it fixed and enjoy the game years to come

If you think a week of server issues at launch hurts Square-Enix's image more than 1.0, you're sorely mistaken.

Yet this same guy, from my understanding, rebuilt this game from engine up (not alone obviously), and made it to where this many people wanted to give it a try - and stick around long enough for servers to smooth out? Of course the game itself could use a few tweaks, it just launched. Although overall, I'd say its a quite a better success than FFXIV 1.0 out of the gate.

Well, it definitely doesn't help it.

As good as the game is, no one cares if they're not able to experience it.
I've been fighting tooth and nail trying to keep some friends interested that have been put off with the issues, in particular the inability to play together atm due to the character creation restrictions for realms.

I just wrote the reality. I played FF14 v.1 from day one to its last day, you can check my achievements. So my loyalty to this game was very high, I played when almost nobody was playing anymore, waiting for a great game, a great launch. They started BETA phases early this year, the got lot of time to make GOOD decisions and now they FAILED again. All the websites are talking about this launch, in your opinion is SE CEO happy?

You don't sound very loyal when an issue arises and you immediately jump on the "BURN THE WITCH" bandwagon. It's alright to be upset because your video game doesn't work all the time, but the servers ARE available for people to play on, just not all of them at the same time. As it's been said before, this is a temporary problem.

This forum really needs to grow the hell up sometimes. This isn't that big of a problem.

Since this is a TEMPORARY problem, but STILL a fail they should had AT LEAST put a timer to kick out INACTIVE players. In your opinion is a good thing that 220k people are playing and maybe outside there are more 50k trying to access the game and cannot? I think this is a completely FAIL.

this is absoultely ridiculous ,especially to legacy members who have supported this game since launch in sept 2010.it is very sad to not be abl ot log in especially after 2 days off from work due to "error 5004 World Currently full" or some nonsense. horrible launch experience and i have to keep my PC on all day just to keep my spot in game secure,somethin i never did in FF11 or FF14 early years.and theyre talking about payments by Novmeber ? yea ok keep it up with this nonsense i will not be paying for anything in november at all......

Remember Blizzard's launch? Same deal here...they didn't think that many players would be interested and now they're swamped. It will get fixed, just chill. Most MMO launches are nightmares.

We all will be eventually paying for this...once the free month+1 week is over.

It will sort itself out soon enough. Obviously you love the game or else you would not be so upset that you want someone to lose their job over your play time being affected. Just give it a week or so.. the damn game will prob run for 10 years.

ive stood around for 3 years and i plan on staying aroung longer,sorry it just gets frustrating at times especially after 2 days off of work(now already gone bcuz i work tonight),and not being able to even at leats play for 5 min. Im not bashing yoshi or thier directors like this guy above me is,they have done a great job trust me,especially remembering the old 2010 days(when it sucked so bad)

Hey guys,

First time posting on these forums.

While I think their compensation is quite good, I think the only real thing they could do to ease everyone's pain would be to offer free transfers for where people want for a very limited ammount of time after the increase on server ammount and capacity. I really wish they could do this.

I personally dislike leveling multiple characters, and I am a roleplayer that is stuck out of Balmung. I'd really love to get on that server, but at the same time I don't fancy re-leveling stuff, and I dont feel like leveling when there is no real point to it considering I will reroll... As such, free transfers to whatever server people want would fix this simply because people could play on any server, and then pick where to go once the fateful wednesday comes :3

Yes Fhyrr is right, they should be able to offer a free transfer to certains servers that are less populated. Or able to kick inactive people.

I do understand your frustration, I am as frustrated as you, but consider that the problem is probably they didn't' expect such a success at relaunch maybe?
They are already addressing the problem.
Yeah I'd like too to have access NOW and NOW being right NOW because I want to play. But I honestly think is not like turning a switch and the problem is magically solved, I am not expert but I suppose is one of those situation in which they have to be careful to not break something else?
What happens if they put on more log ins and then we all die of lag? Or people get disconnected at random? Or the server fail to save your character or it brings back the 3102?
I'd prefer be frustrated for another 4 days then get more frustrated later if they solve a problem a break something else.

Who cares? Once it's fixed, you'll be able to play as much as you want and the days you lost will be refunded for free. They will postpone the date at which they will ask subscription.

And what will someone being removed from the FF14 team do to solve anything. Yoshi-P has already taken full responsibility for this, which means, the person you are asking to be removed from the team is him. So, your solution so that you what, feel better? is to remove the person that put together and led the team to make this game into what it is.

I love how everyone expected a flawless launch. There has never been a flawless launch of an MMO, whether it be inability to login, servers being completely down for days, if not weeks, gamebreaking bugs.

Everyone seems to be acting as if they are ignoring the issue and doing nothing. SE has been nothing if not communicative in what they are doing. So why can't we all just be patient.

I'm angry because there are alot of people SIT AFK in the Limsa fountain, in Uldah plaza and for sure also in Gridania somewhere. I don't want people who is playing be disconnected because of me, but I PRETEND people afk for hours THEY SHOULD BE FORCED to disconnected so guys like me could login... Is it asking too much?

you're joking but I'm working exactly in that enviromental office. If in the city there is 500ton of urban waste and we decide to dispose 400ton because the incinerator is full, you should try to tell the families living in the streets with remaining 100ton "hey we already disposed 400ton, wait some days and keep livining inside the junk", honestily they will kick you.

this is not unusual and not the first time a game had issues at launch, get over it.

It is unusual FF14 v.2 has issues.
the words A REALM REBORN meaning the 1st launch was a completely fail, we were expecting a better launch. We deserved it.

By far this games kicks the ass of any mmo that has come out, I'm actually interested in playing it and don't even want to look back to wow, they have done a great job and I look forward to see how things evolve. Not even going to touch Elder Scrolls Online. I can tell when an MMO is generic these days, and 14 surpasses them 1000 fold.

hiya i can't open my own thread cause my lvl is to low xD so i gonna ask it here.

i can't login on EU/NA servers cause of 10102 , then when i wanna login it says can't load servers list Eu/Na but i don't know where to see if the servers or down or not!

as i predicted in a previous post the opening weekend will make or break a lot of players choice to stay with the game people off school will want to play as they havent had chance all week people off work will want to play for the same reason and there first introduction will be servers are full or not exsepting new players i feel sorry for these people they buy the game for the game to say sorry SE didnt make enough servers so no you cant play.

its 9:30 am east coast us at the moment 6:30 am west cost and the NA servers are full dam you really screwed up this launch WTF are you going to do at 7:00 pm when its "prime time" when you servers are full before 9:00 am

what I meant was... if they guaranteed Free transfers once the Database increase comes; none of us would have to worry which server we were currently on, as when the increase comes, we could just move to other servers and go to our friends or our friends come to us. That way there would be no reason to rage besides the login problems, and these would be solved if people could just roll on any server knowing they would get to choose later on. This way game-time is spared because you're still improving your character and having fun, but also, you're going to a server of your choice when this increase actually happens D:

I don't mean only to low pop servers, even if this is not the case atm... I mean from any server to any server.

your right and wrong at the same time having the ability to switch servers to be on the one where friends are on will be nice but that wont stop the fact you log in make a toon on any random server knowing you can change later play for a few hours log off log back in cant play that toon on the random server no more servers full but you can make a new toon on a another server you would have tons of low lvl toons to transfer in the end

My whole issue is that they knew servers were going to get slammed in BETA. Imho they should of canceled early access and worked on servers. If people would of been upset let em but by no means did they work on servers or even put out a new client. 40 dollars for beta servers and a beta client *who doesn't put an afk timer in the game like c'mon yo* is just all bad imo. Idk the game will get better but I do believe the devs need to have a bit of hindsight when it comes to some of these issues because 1.0 gave you guys a horrible rep and well if things get worst I don't think people will just sit their and wait it out like some did in 1.0.

The game doesnt need help.. Obviously it's doing just fine if there are tons of people already playing and tons at the gate waiting to get in.
