Error 2002 - Lobby Dead

So currently getting Error 2002 - The Lobby server connection has encountered a problem. Start button never highlights and can't even get to character select.

I didn't see any news post about this, anyone getting the same error?

I just got the same error 3-4 times. I decided to try "Run as Administrator" and that let me in.

Probably just a coincidence, but give it a shot!

Running as administrator didn't work for me. Haven't managed to log in for about 2 hours already.

I am also getting the same error. I noticed it began yesterday around 8 at night.

I got in but it says all NA/EU servers are down?

It seems to be alternating between the two.

This is beyond a joke of a release. I think SE fails to realize that they're losing this "unexpected" population of players that they didn't prepare for. You would think the fear of bankruptcy after 1.0 would've made them even a little wary of releasing 2.0 successfully- but nope.lol

Same here. Curious as to wtf is going on though, since its pretty early and servers have been fine before when I log in this early. Maintenance? Maybe just haven't announced it yet?

I'm looking forward to the day where we can actually login and play without any issues.

Soon. Maybe even next week soon. I estimated 1 month from early access, but hopefully those new servers announced Will clear it all up. I almost hope they take a month though. It would get rid of all the self entitled children that have been flaming up the web recently.

Thank god the first month is free, i'd be mad if i had to pay the $15 and not be able to hardly play...

Same issue here, which is a shame since I got up extra early on a weekend (7am EST) to try to avoid all the peak hour issues. Was doing fine till about 7:30am EST where I got DC'd and have since been stuck in Error 2002 limbo

Running as administrator seemed to do the trick

you realise thats it those "self entitles children " who are giving a ton on bad revievs atm all over the net , its not 2005 anymore game cant afford itself to have bad revievs on the net to survive , they said themselves its probably their last chance and atm its terrible fiasco - will the situation be better in a month ? probably - will all those players float away to other mmorpgs which are f2p a without any issues liek this - most definetly - they want to base on subscriptions to make income not on initial sales and in this moment the more time they loose the less people are likely to subscribe . people are not idiots - well maybe i was cause i bought this without checking internet revievs but if u type FF XIV iinto google first thing which catches eye is more and more negative comments - no game can afford itself this especially game which was awaited liek this - they knew people were interested into this and failed horribly - dont know how itsi n NA but in EU if product u buy is bad/faulty u have 7 days to return it and seller is obliged to return u money - here product is working its servers are at fault - this is why many unhappy customers even if they wanted to return it to shop have no right to do it - and are pissed liek hell about it ><

Went from the 2002 no lobby to getting In but no n.a./eu and then no jp and spamming against the 1017. Now back to the beginning. Pretty sure the servers are going to take a dump soon. I love how some people say things like "this isn't 2005 anymore", as if 2005 was this distant past where everything was so different (really shows their age). I'm sure SE will do just fine since they were expecting to make a profit from far less players than they have now and will have after the impatient children leave in droves.

Same on PS3 I hoped playing the game today without errors. Last week has been a hell, needed to registrate again because of the pre-order and normal registration. Costed me 2 hours to figure that stuff out and then i just threw the game away because it was to late to play it anymore. It is ridiculous and i still have to write a review about it.. Inmagine how it will come out.

Ditto - I don't even know why I post to threads when there are problems. I sometimes think SE only reads the JP forums since that is all I read in the News on the Loadstone lately = getting very bitter

I was getting 2002 or NA/EU unavailable for about 30 minutes. Then I came here and read to run as administrator. Did that and logged straight into the game. Maybe that caused it to work or maybe it was just freak luck!

It's luck. I'm on ps3 and get the same error so it's nothing to do with admin rights or hardware, unless it's a very general error that covers many diff issues. Most likely it was coincidence. Just keep trying and eventually you will get in. It's never failed for me. Got in after an hour this time.

Yeah, the launcher has been sluggish and it has it's normal set of errors, likely just due to congestion. Servers need a dose of decongestant, aka AFK kicker!
