Dear Scholars, please Learn to play

So SCH is OP but some(most) of you are not. Try this sometime:

1. Cast Selene not Eos
2. Do nothing. (Let Selene cast Fey Glow (spell speed +30%))
3. When Fey Glow buff about to wear, manually cast Fey Light (skill speed +30%)
4. Go back to step 2.

Why do people post stuff like this ? These types of posts I often see here like "tanks that suck", etc. etc. are completely unnecessary and are nothing but obvious ego-trips from people who apparently knew everything about the game from day 1 when they logged in.

You could get your point across just as easily and more effectively with a topic titled "Helpful tips for Scholars" or "Tanking 101 for Beginners" rather than the rude and condescending types of posts I see way too often on these boards. If you're really trying to help people get better at the game, you should already know that telling people they suck isn't the best way to get your message across or heard lol.

I'll use whatever fairy I need at the time. Thanks for the pro tips tho.

I'd have Scholars actually heal me instead of having them do DPS while their pet attempts to heal me and I die.

There are some fights were the healing faerie is more important than the party support one such as demon wall.

The +30% haste will help you beat the timer on demon wall or burn the adds faster. And btw Selene also heals a bit. And seriously if people are relying on the AI healing pet to survive then their SCH just sucks.

Speed increase won't help if you die from damage and having to move a lot thus preventing you from healing as much and selene's total healing doesn't compare to that of Eos. And i'll follow your logic, if the party needs to rely on the skill speed boost from scholar faerie to beat demon wall they suck.

people who make these threads are asking to be flamed, you cant compare the Healing ability of pure healer to a support its saying like we dont want WHM cos he is too pure healing guy but we want CON since he can heal as well, but you fail to get is whats the power of those heals and extra abilities that let you survive.

what you should do before posting these threads is try those classes/jobs out and be in the shoes of those scholars if you cant or dont want to do that then just keep quite and play the game you want to and dont ever bother telling anyone what to do as you arent capable of doing it your self, I know you are gonna come back at me saying you dont want to play as sch then dont tell them what to do.

Second you came forum Q_Q tell us learn our class but iquess you should learn it ur self.

Dear OP
Please learn not to adress the entire population of players using the scholar class for a handful of inexperienced individulas you came across.
Tips are welcome but you should post them in a non condescending way next time, the only thing it does is make you look bad.

I use Selene for trash mobs, and Eos for bosses and sub-bosses. Has worked out pretty good so far.

I don't know about you guys, but I like this OP... The OP reminds me of my friends chiwawa he has. Barking arf arf all day :) its adorable!

Of course these kind of flames are expected from this forum but hopefully I intrigued you to try new things out and play smarter :)

If you are having trouble with Demon wall, then please ignore my message, you have bigger issues on your plate!

I love how people are already a pro at Scholar. it's like they've been playing one for years and know all the tricks.

I'll run with your logic again, if people are having trouble with demon wall and need the 30% haste effect from selene to beat it they have bigger issues on their plate.

I daresay you haven't 'intrigued' anyone into anything, only annoyed them endlessly. Next time try to be, you know, friendly about it, instead of attacking all Scholars out there. If you had trouble with individuals then maybe you should've given them advice right then and there, when it was actually needed. Stop being so arrogant and perhaps people will actually appreciate and listen to what you have to say.

I suggest to the OP and others to not tell people how to play the game they bought. Just saying. ( Just don't play with them if you don't like it)

If you run Selene your AoE healing is nonexistent as Succor alone sucks big time.

Sorry, but I am not your buff bot. I am there to make sure you don't die when you act like a fool. If that means Eos is the better option, then I'll use Eos. As the healer and the Scholar it is my decision. You'll just have to deal with it now won't you?

Dear Scholars, I offer some of my game play tips

The SCH is versatile and fun to play in a variety of ways! Try this sometime:

1. Unless the leader has specific instructions, I generally cast Selene instead of Eos.
2. Then I pause, while monitoring the battle situation and teams overall health, until Selene casts its Fey Glow buff (spell speed +30%).
3. When the Fey Glow buff is about to expire, I manually cast Fey Light (skill speed +30%).
4. Then, if the situation dictates, I go back to step 2.

I use Selene if I know the fight or comfortable with the group and use Eos if I'm not comfortable with the fight/group.

But, if I ever get paired with you in Duty Finder, I'll be using Eos all the way cause you're a douche, like a real douchie douche kind of douche haha

It's literally +30% speed, aka your 250 or whatever skill-/spellspeed increases by 30% and you get -0.1 gcd on a 50% uptime. It sucks.

Ok I will do everything you just said...but if you pull hate for the tank no heals for you that the great teacher for dps =D

It's not anywhere close to bloodlust. Don't try to "help" people with wrong information. It's only useful if you're already stacking spell/skill speed, and even then it's gonna shave off like .2secs at most of your spells/GCD. It's worth casting over not casting the heals if it's easy content, but it's nothing crazy good and it's certainly worse than Eos spells on anything even remotely challenging.
