So, Is this game just grind fates on a 2nd class?

I am asking this because thats about all there seems to be left to do once you do all the quests with your main class. Anyone else see an issue with this? or is it just me? I mean I guess its better than forming a party to grind mobs, but it would have been cool if each class could get its own quests randomly generated in each hub/base. Do you agree?

P.s. I also love how they deleted my topic about how shitty the story flow is with how much they fill it with comepletly unrelated and pointless fetch quests in between the quests that actually matter.

Pretty much, Unless this changes before the 2 week trial for old 1.0 players ends, I most likely won't be subbing. I may change my mind alot can happen in 1.5 weeks, but this is how I feel about it right this moment, or I may just take a break for a few months and come back later after a content update or 2. I just don't really look forward to grinding fates from like level 10 to 50 on another class, but if each class had their own set of quests at each hub i'd be cool with that, even if some of the quests get reused. Just something so Fates is not the only option we have. We do have Leve's but they have limited allocations. Maybe Square will do something to remedy the problem.

why would you do everything with your main class? If you're intent, on leveling a second class, or others, you can easily leave non essential quests alone, and just use leves, hests, and dungeons to level through.

IF you carefully pick and choose and keep some quests and level up your main class with the FATES and other adventures, and explore a lot you can certainly do three or four classes and have fun all the time. I love the side story and the way all the detail enhances the game world. I like to remind myself that this is a vast and wonderful story and not just a shooting gallery and that makes such a nice differnece.

The system does give you new quests, they're called Leves. You can do as many as you like in bounds of your allowance.

fates will only help you at lower levels. just do sidequests, guildleves and fate to get the class to lvl 15 then run the dungeons to lvl up. runnng the dungeons is the fastest way to lvl post lvl 20. guildleves and fates will not cut it.

Pretty much what Zdine said. I'm not a fan of the grind a sub-class to get anywhere myself or all in one character, class type of thing.
Since games who do that, end up as a grind fest. It's not all that bad I guess...But I see how you mean. I rather be CNJ - WHM w/o the need
to be a a ACN personally, don't care for cross-classes skills either since it still makes the main class, lack fun skills in general.
Thankfully, I'ma stick to 1or 2 classes for a while, I don't wanna go back to level 1 grind all day lol.

I don't necessarily see that happening. There are a total of three cities in addition to extra zones here and there (Coerthas, for example) and you can hit those site's zones accordingly. I really wonder how anyone can truly come to the conclusion that the game expects you to grind fates for 40 levels when there are three main cities; all with their own zones and side quests. Not to mention guildleves/hests.

your options are larger than just fates,

there are of course the fates which will act as a main stepping stone as you hunt around.

The hunting log provides large bonuses and each class has it's own unique log.

Guildleves are repeatable on alotment, and you can gain bonus exp for completing them on higher difficulties.

Guildhests can be undertaken by parties, these are a mix of a guildleve and a fate, and do not take alotment.

When your new class achieves the required levels you can begin doing dungeon runs with them to earn gear and large exp rewards on completion.

not to mention that each city has it's own pool of sidequests from 1-50 to pull from, so as long as you don't complete them all with a single class and waste them, you've got plenty of content to keep you... well... content.

Sorry but this is wrong. Fates are the fastest way, even if you get instant queues for dungeons. I actually skip ALL side quests and save leves for crafting. Pointless really with fates being so rewarding.

One does not simply complete all quests with one class....

pretty sure you can travel to another town and start doing their quests from low lvl up. But thats if you want to stay in your Hometown.

Yeah I'm with you on this I leveled MNK to 50 in like 4days even with all the issues with Errors but the leveling system sucks! I really hate it I cant even bring myself to level LNC past 20 so I can get the cool cross class skills I'm having thoughts of not subbing after the free trial is up And I'm a huge FF fan but the amount of EXP you need is crazy and to have to fate burn everything sucks.... Yes I could go do dungeons but there is no incentive to go redo low level dungeons I think I'm finally starting to see what other people have been saying even though I didn't want to believe it. Maybe playing FFXI for 8years is my problem, I had 8 75's before Abyssea even came out I really want to do this same with this game cause that's the way I am but that's to much fate grinding. And leve Allowance is too slow.

You are allowed to use alts like in other MMOs.

Just dinged 30 on my marauder, and everywhere I go, there are quest icons. Up to this point, I've just done story quests, dungeons, class quests, and any fates that I stumble across. I also do the intro levequest in a new area, but leave the actual leve allowances that I'm accumulating to level my crafting and secons, third, fourth class. Up to lvl 29, I out leveled all of the main story quests and dungeons were fairly easy. The level 30 story quest was the only one that was unavailable immediately after the preceding quest, so I hit my hunting log, which I'd been neglecting, and bam! Level 30 after completing the second set of marks. I love this game, and there seems to be way too much to do!

Agreed. Honestly, I'm only going to focus on the magic users for my main and then make another character for things like Dragoon and Warrior.

Levequests, dungeons, guildhests, hunting logs are other ways to level, ways that i prefer currently due to how FATEs are(massive zerg rushes that just are not fun, they need to have their spawn times nerfed, as they are now they spawn so fast that everything else pales in comparison)
