Problems will only be resolved by implementing temporary free world transfers

The current worlds are over crowded and most people won't be willing to scrap their character to start over in a new world.

We need a temporary free world transfer system to allow people to move to these new worlds. This system should have been developed in parallel to the implementation of the new worlds. Without both, there is no solution.

How about increasing the capacity of the existing worlds? transferring the data to better servers perhaps??

I'd love it if they allowed free transfers to the new servers, and made a new server that 1.0 characters could move to as well. At this rate it looks like I'll be paying for a transfer to a JP Legacy server if I want to play somewhere less packed. One thing nice about sharing servers internationally was that you could fit more people on them, 'cause they logged in at different times.

I am curious how many more people they could allow to log in by increasing capacity. Whenever I've been able to get onto my server it has been packed, players everywhere! It isn't overcrowded, per se, but if they allowed even more people logged in at once, it would be. In cities especially.

Of course, players will be more spread out as time passes, so I hope that helps. But it can only help so much, particularly in regards to cities.

Transfers will in no way help. Stop looking for handouts. What they need to do is abolish this regional server crap and add servers as needed.

More than 5,000 would be kind of overkill on a server. I feel like there's too many people running around as is on each server. but that's just my two cents.

If SE is simply adding new worlds without increasing server capacity, it would only make sense to add capacity indicators (low, medium, high, full) beside each world in the selection menu along with allowing temporary free world transfers. This would allow players to transfer over to worlds with less activity and thus allow for evening out of the player base.

I'm curious as to why you think that? 5K on a server max at a time. People currently can't get into their worlds to play. You think by adding more servers (worlds) that people are going to stop trying to get into the server where their character is and start over from scratch? If your server is busy now and you have trouble getting into your server, the only solution is for people to go to other servers. Do you not agree? There's a much greater incentive to go somewhere else if you get to keep your character.

There is no way transfers would help right now as all worlds are full and there are no low pop worlds to which you could transfer.

It was announced that new worlds are being added on Monday (I thought most people knew this). The developers think this will solve the congestion problem. The entire point of my post is that new worlds alone won't solve the problem.

Unless you make certain worlds off limit the the larger worlds will just get bigger with world transfers. Most people on the more populated worlds are going to stay in them and then loads of players who couldn't get in them originally will join also

I would gladly take my character and transfer it to a new server if it means I actually get to play when I want to. I have no guild or anybody tying me to it. I don't know what that other moron was talking about with the "hand outs" part. We paid for the game and we're paying a sub after.

Need more capacity on Legacy worlds, or another legacy world or 2 with free transfer. New worlds don't do anything for the people already playing.

i cant even get the NA/EU server list to load. I tried to log onto a JP server and all of them are full as well. Transfers might not be a fix.

They need Transfer servers (no new characters) to allow people to the ability to log on and play and servers for new characters only.

Letting us move characters after the world increase would be great. I have friends spread out all over just so they can play. Would be great if we get to all move to the same server after the fix.

What he's saying is that just throwing hardware at it by itself is not a solution. It needs to go hand in hand with server transfers as well.

Personally, I agree with the OP. There needs to be a grace period after new servers come out where they allow free world transfers to give some incentive for people to transfer off their current worlds. I'd wager only a very small percentage of players are going to just abandon their characters for new servers. That small percentage across all of the servers does not help the congestion we're currently facing.
