PS3 and PC

Got this on PS3 and I'm loving it. I would be playing right now but wife is on Netflix on the PS3, can I buy PC version and play my same characters on both platforms?

Yes, you can. You just need to register the PC version under the same FFXIV Service Account.

If you plan on eventually doing endgame and the like, you'll be wanting to have the PC version handy anyways. While simple activities like lvling or gathering are fine for the PS3, it just won't cut it as far as endgame events go. There are already free companies recruiting for PC players only, and for good reason.

does ffxiv support kb/mouse usage on the ps3? if so i may get a copy for console too for s&g.

Discrimination against PS3 players already? good thing i play solo on most of my games. i wouldnt want to play with people that discriminate because of what system your playing your game on. And not sure i know what you mean by "with good reason" because they use a controller instead of a keyboard they are inferior? These PC elitist (i use the term elitist very loosely) do realize that PS3 players can use a keyboard and a mouse to play the game? Well whatever no skin off my back like i said wouldnt want to play with discriminators anyways. Its almost as bad as racism and its sickening.

PS3 works fine for endgame.

I wouldn't be surprised if some people play on hardware that is lower spec than PS3 lol.

Your play style will be judged, not your choice of platform.

That said, this game looks so much better on a gaming PC. I would aim to get a PC that can run the game on max settings. There are posts in the archive about various builds.

The elitest comment is very true pc players feel they have advantage over ps3 player for some unkown reason, I have played on both pc and ps3 and I see no difference in play other than the hot bar which is easy to use on both ps3 just have to be more picky over what that put in the hot bar. So I say stop the stupid eliteness, shut up and enjoy the game which has been made for more than one console so people can enjoy gaming with each other not "pc players are better" crap it is not needed, just enjoy the game

Yes - each platform registerd to the same service account will give you 30 days so for PS3 + PC you'll got 60 free days in total (it's actually even stated in the initial User Agreement which aparently nobody reads anyway). I have it exactly like that.

And to anyone saying you'll need PC for end game - have you even TRIED to play it on PS3? There are many people out there with much worse specs PCs than PS3 and / or using controllers while many PS3 players are using keyboard + mouse only so keep your uneducated missinformation out of the forum (it's actully one of the main forum rules which nobody seems to read either).

I was in a party last night where they trashed the GLD for being crappy because he played on ps3, and in the same breath told me I was an incredible BRD. I play on ps3 too. So I waited till we got to the boss and me and the tank ditched them. We formed our own party and did just fine.

FC's wanting PC only need to get over themselves. Ps3 users do just fine. The thing is, at least in last nights case, a lot of ps3 users may be new to MMOs. They just need time to adjust, get a keyboard etc.

I actually play on both PS3 as well as PC and I'm more crap on PC (and total dissaster if I have no controller availabe) comparing to PS3 and frankly I'd not like to be a member of FC which discriminates against PS3 / console / controller players. Your "gear" has little to nothing to say about your capabilities as gamer.
