Scholars Guide To Healing

STATS
Strength is the primary damage dealing stat for melee classes
Dexterity is the primary damage dealing stat for ranged classes
Vitality is the primary defensive stat for tanking classes
Intelligence is the primary offensive stat for spell casting classes
Mind is the primary healing stat for healers
Piety corresponds to higher MP. More MP allows you to cast more spells during combat

For Scholars Mind & Piety Are the main Primary Stats to Focus on

Scholar Abilities
Lv.30 - Adloquium: Restores target HP. Potency of 300. Erects a barrier nullifying damage equal to the amount of HP restored. The barrier matches HP restored, even if the heal is critical.
Lv.35 - Succor: Restores HP in an area around the caster. Potency 150. Grants a shield to each member healed that nullifies damage equal to the cure.
Lv.40 - Leeches: Removes a single detrimental effect on target. 1s cast time
Lv.45 - Sacred Soil: Creates an area where everyone inside takes 10% less damage. Duration 15s. If cast under "Aetherflow" there is a 20% chance the next "Succor" will cost no MP.
Lv.50 - Lustrate: Restores 20% of target's maximum HP. Only available Under Aetherflow.

EOS ( Healing Fairy )
Lv.1 - Embrace (Shared) - Restores target HP. Potency of 300.
Lv.1 - Whispering Dawn - AoE Regen around fairy. Potency of 100 for 21s. 30s recast.
Lv.20 - Fay Covenant - Increases Magic Defense around fairy by 20% for 20s. Recast 2m
Lv.40 - Fay Illumination - Increases healing magic potency of self and nearby party members for 20% for 20s. Recast 2m.

SELENE ( Support Fairy )
Lv.1 - Embrace (Shared) - Restores target HP. Potency of 300.
Lv.1 - Silent Dawn - Silences target for 1s. 40s recast.
Lv.20 - Fey Glow - Increases Spell speed of self and nearby party members by 30% for 30s. 60s Recast. Can not be used at the same time as "Fey Light".
Lv.40 - Fey Light - Increases skill speed of self and nearby party members by 30% for 30s. 60s Recast. Can not be used at the same time as "Fey Glow".

The shield value is doubled when you crit.

Cross Class Abilities

Healer & Buffer - Physick,Protect,Succor,Summon II,Sacred Soil,Resurrection, Eye for An Eye, Leeches

Full Healer optional - Cure,Summon,Aetherflow,Succor,Protect,Raise/Res,Sacred Soil,Adloquium

Healing in Parties

When healing in parties Scholars should always Remain Mid range in the party close enough to heal everyone while at the same time far enough away from the boss and add's try to stay near a ranged dps is there is one you should not have to stop healing to focus on an add they are not our problem.

The Tank should always be your main focus when Healing in parties, if someone else needs a heal in your party there's a little trick where if you lock on to the tank and then scroll to the person who needs a heal the fairy will continue to heal the tank for you.

At the same time while staying mid range a Scholar Must Remain MOBILE when needed since VIT is not a stat we need one shot can be fatal to us and a dead healer is not useful keep moving.

how MND affects the healing? has anyone tested this? The INT bonus traits doesnt make any sense :/

Thank you. I love the cross pad setups. Trying to decide what to use at times gets a bit confusing, this works really well.

Int is only for spell power which is your magical atks MND affects how much healing you can get out

Correction:

Sacred Soil requires Aetherflow to cast. The 20% chance is always there.

I've read that int determines healing magic power when you're playing as Scholar. Don't know if I can truste it but it seems logical to me.

No point cross classing raise as it's only in combat castable as a conjurer/white mage as cross class abilities don't benefit from passive traits from other classes. not to mention arcanist's version of raise can already be cast in combat. No need to cross class Cure either as physick is the same potency and mp cost.

Cross classing swift cast and sure cast from thamaturge is very useful.

I have been raising MND as it is the stat used for healing potency. I can't see why INT would be for healing potency as SCH. Any tests on this?

INT does not increase the healing of your spells as a SCH, MND does. Tested myself with both Physick and Adloquium.

The Magic Damage of your weapon however does significantly affect your healing.

Correction, Stoneskin stays 10% for SCH as the passive that boosts it to 18% is WHM only.

well as a sch i have 288 mind 211 int. when i heal its like 500ish but when i do cleric stance i heal for 300ish so its quite a bit

Square Enix: The design of Selene fairy is totally useless. A fairy that increases your attack / spell speed 0,1 seg (wow....). If you didnt want to modify our GCD why just dont give us another useful buffs? You should know that Selene fairy is totally crap.

I hope you modify something about Selene soon (at least give us a real 20% at. speed if you dont wanna give us a REAL 30% as it puts in the description)

INT is the primary stat for arcanist. But scholars need MND for healing. You put all your stats into INT as an arcanist. You will need to use cleric stance to swap your stats for healing.

Swapping you stats using Cleric stance is a horrible idea, it reduces healing potency by 20% which is a much bigger loss then any gain you'd ever manage to get, if any considering SCH's gear is all MND focused

Just to point out Cure has the exact same stats as Physick, both are on the global cooldown timer and sch can not crossclass Cure II, so there is no reason to set it on sch or arn. I can see using cleric's stance when doting and then toggling it off for healing, but as it reduces healing magic its not a solution for people who want to be both perfect summoners and perfect scholars, even before accounting for gear.

So, if i well understod, is nos posible to be a perfect scholar and summoner whit the actual tools in game.

If you wanna be good scholar after job qest, you have to respect arcanist points to MND.

If you wanna be a perfect summoner, you have to spend all points into INT.

Any solution to this? You have to choice one? My plan was be summoner and acholar, both.

Cleric Stance is actually a very nice skill for both CNJ/WHM/SCH.
The only way it is viable though is if you use MND as your primary stat. Switch MND into INT stat and you can dps with a 10% increase in damage. Yes, you do 20% less healing but Cleric Stance is used to put a Healer class into a dps mode. Cleric stance also doesn't follow the GCD and to remove it has no animation so you can easily switch back into healing mode in an instance. In CBT I played CNJ a lot and I was very pleased with how they could change to damage or healer so quickly.

Cleric stance for SCH would be amazing but only as long as they make MND their primary stat. I view scholar as a DPS that CAN heal. They still get all of ARC dps skills - just more heals added on. Cleric Stance would be great for them.

Also, fun fact, the game considers Piety to be main stat of Scholar. When a SCH joins a party, the PIE highlights in the party limit break menu. :o I found it interesting.

Soloing as a Scholar is really slow for me (and boring... you take forever to kill or to die), compared to the other classes, and this really helped me to get it going just a little bit faster :)

I think it's 30% increase to your skill/spell speed stat. It'll be good at level50 in 50 gear.

thats cause CS drops healing by 20% if it didnt your heals would not be as bad... thats why going all int with talent points is a bad idea... if its anything like 1.0 than the amount of potency from mind is 1/3 of total mind... 252 mind 84 to magic potency... and you wont get another point til 255 then 258 and so on. NO HEALER should heal with CS active. You will use twince the amount of mana for the same amount of health.

I'm not sure if the 20% reduced healing potency affects scholar. Here's what my stats before cleric stance.
Int 290 amp 290
Mnd 220 hmp 220

Here's after cleric stance
Int 220 amp 220
Mnd 290 hmp 290

This is all my bonus stat put into int.
can anyone confirm that if you wear all int gear at 50 and use cleric stance would be better that mnd gear?

Its not going to be better, SCH doesn't get access to the higher end INT gear to begin with our Mythology gear (the Argute set) is all MND and i dont believe we can wear the darklight caster dps set at, then theres our relic which doesn't have INT either and we can't use the GC weapons of casting, only the grimoires of healing which again, all MND.

The 20% healing down absolutly effects Scholar healing (and the 10% damage up works on all our damage spells too for refrence)

I like the basic guide to SCH. But I want to know all of your thoughts of secondary skills that might be important for SCH. Why does all our gear have so many points in VIT? In 1.x the VIT boosted Stoneskin for an example, does VIT affect SCH in some way that we're not aware of?

Also, would you go for increased crit hit rate (if it affects the healing spells?) over Spell Speed (more static effect than %chance of the crit hit rate)?

VIT is on gear to simply scale HP upwards as you get stronger (this allows bosses to hit harder later) other then health total and health regeneration it doesn't effect anything (unless someone has done the testing for which stats transfer over to pets! id be interested in seeing it)

A lot of the healer gear has spell speed on it but not critical so it would be a bit bothersome to test which is better in large stacks personally i'd prefer critical rate over spell speed just because it feels like it makes more of a difference, i never notice spell speed changes even with selenes buff up though i might not have high enough spell speed for her to enhance anyway~

According to someone on BG that tested, the Aetherflow mp regained is based on ones Piety (or max mp)...

informative for those just starting as a scholar good job! as far as stats i would focus on mind only as SCH has so many great ways to restore MP on the fly you should rare encounter MP issues unless you are spamming unnecessary heals, plus with cleric stance you can go full attack if healing is not needed at the moment. SCH is a on the fly continuous healer you have to stay on your toes!

i use a mix of healing and DD on my load out that allows me to keep my tank and party healed while also dealing support damage when no healing to speed up dungeon runs seem to work well for me!

I have a problem with SCH.. I'm level 44 and i soon i'll be 45 and 50, and i won't have enough slots in my skill bar for all the skills :/ I did a few macros to 'remove' 1 or 2 skills from the bar but i still won't have enough slots for the 45 and 50 skills :/ How should i organize that? .-.

Important question, how do our stats affect our pet heals? and to some extent spell speed?

+MND equals to bigger Embrace?

In then HUD overlay youre able to allow more than two hotkey bars.
