Will you pay them money before they fix the "world is full please try again" stuff?
If SE follows through they should have it fixed within the next well. On top of that Yoshi said he would be giving players the 'free time' that they lost with these issues. I have already set up my 180 day payment cycle, but I have a few weeks to reconsider if things do not improve. But they are working on new data centers, new worlds, and a afk kicker so I feel that this will be fixed within the next week or so.
Do I have faith they will fix it, yes.
Do I like the way it is right now, no.
Would I pay if this issue is still going on a month from now? I honestly don't know. And the fact that I have been a long time supporter of SE and love this game... me saying I don't know if I would pay is a big thing.
I think they will fix it, so I have already subscribed.
Already put myself up for 180 days payment cycle. So yeah. I know launching a big MMO isnt an easy task, and buying servers to avoid these kinda problems isnt cheap. They are pretty much highperformance PCs, and they usually are on a 3 YEAR contract.
So say if SE hired 50 new servers to fix the login problem, and people dont stick around after 6 months or so, and servers becomes dead/low pop. They cant simply cut off the costs, they still have to pay for 2,5 years for servers no longer in use..
So before people think its such an easy task estimating just how much to launch with, think again. Or ask SE for a job if people are so qualified for the job and see how well you do ;)
I can't log in myself most of the time, but I dont complain. Its not fun at all no as I really want to play it. But once I am unable to log in, I go play another game, watch a movie or visit a friend and try again later.
I will be using my free 30 days. I will wait until the very end of that 30 days to see if things are fixed or not.
I would probably seriously consider holding off on subscribing personally but keep an eye on things. Lack of server capacity is one thing. Not having the queues be used what they're meant for is another. There's no reason queues should be any strain on the servers at all, especially when you can have a separate queue server meant to only monitor server populations and hold people's places in line. Lot easier to set up than a world server quite frankly. Key thing is, I'd still give them a chance though once they DID fix it, but still, paying for a game I can't play half the time when I want to play games? Doesn't sound logical to me.
This game is too fun to not subscribe. I know it's very difficult to log in right now but with what little time I've had with this game before I get disconnected I've had a blast playing. So yes I will sub even after this crazy mess
Problems are problems. Almost every MMO game has them to start with.
I've already bought 180 days worth of game time via timecards. I've had a blast when I've been able to play, and want to support the game as long as I enjoy it. :)
Nope ... of course not! I still have about a month of "free" time so its probably going take up most of that time. Honestly, if I could, id have gotten a refund and bought it again in a month or so. There is no excuse for this anymore. If Trion handled their release better, SE shouldnt have had a problem. Its getting old.
I expect them to give us as many days as this problem has persisted since release ... bare minimum. This game is running on our dime now ... not theirs.
I'm awaiting to see how they will "apologize" for this fiasco before I decide to commit, if at all.
I'm expecting more free time at the very least and am curious as to how SE will make it up to all players.
They gotta show me their degree of goodwill before I put mine down. That said, I have great expectations since it is SE.
180 day subscription set up.
Whenever I can get on, the game is really enjoyable:) I am sure that this will be fixed.
Hell I remember when WoW had it's share of server issues, and those wonderful server hicups that would always seem to happen during the end of a raid dungeon (remembers fighting Rags, then a nice 40 second server hicup, then seeing ALL 40 raid members go down at the same time)
Also remembers Diablo 3s infamous "Error 37"
Not a chance in hell. SE has displayed some brutal incompetence over the last few days on several issues, and the few hours I've been able to play over the last few days doesn't come close to cancelling the frustration. I consider the early access to be a total failure at the least, and could make the argument for false advertising. It wasn't free, and it wasn't a gift, same as the 30 days included play time; it was a selling point for pre-purchase, and it turned into a fiasco. If the fanboys want to yell at me and call me an entitled american, that's fine, but in any other industry, not being able to use a product you've paid for would be grounds for demanding a refund.
I don't think i am going to subscribe , that is because all day i have been trying to log in and couldn't because of lobby problems or because the world was full (every single world actually), and i have had this same problem for 4-5 days now .... I have been actually been talking about this problem more than i have been playing this game . It's a great game but i want to have access to the product i am paying for !
I cringe when I cannot log on, but I'm very patient and with my free time they have provided (think around 12days left) I believe they will have the issues solved... If not, yes I'll still be throwing my money at SE hehe...
Nope. Why support a service until they can guarantee access?
No. I am not paying for a broken game. Maybe the Legacy players can support their devs again and get a free pet or whatever.
Already subscribed for 180 day cycle. Am Legacy, thus my cost is very low, and while I can't always get on during peak times, I've been getting plenty of time during the early AM!
Only thing bothersome is having my client crash frequently and for no reason I've discovered, especially during a dungeon!
Sure why not, better than constantly whining about successful launch woes!
I don't think anyone expects people to pay subscriptions if these log in issues persist, least of all SE themselves. This whole server/log-in thing was a mistake on Yoshi-P's part, but he's apologized and stated it'll be fixed next week. I also have confidence if next week's fixes aren't enough, they'll continue to implement more things until it's all working. They'll also probably compensate us with an extension of the free trial. If 1-it gets fixed and 2-we're compensated for lost time, I really don't see why you wouldn't sub if you like the game. It sucks this problem exists right now, but if FFXIV has proven anything in its lifespan, it's that they'll fix a problem if it comes up and compensate fans accordingly!
Also, imo it's a bit unfair to say "I can't believe I'm still getting the 1017 problem" and that "SE still hasn't fixed this." They didn't "continue" to mess up from OB to early access to launch to yesterday to today, it's one big mistake they're still working on fixing. So until the new servers open up next week, you'll continue getting the 1017 message. We all just have to sit tight until then.
I'm on JP server so the Login problems don't affect me, So i will subscribe after the 30 free trial is over. :D
The people here that are so quick to throw their arms up in the air on this forum are the reason why SE chose not to have a larger number of servers/server capacity. Every game has queues. 1017 sucks but they've explained why it happens. If SE did all the upgrades that everyone here bickered about, people would say "Too bad SE, you had your chance". So all that money on server improvements and then BAM it's now impossible to recoup those costs. Even if there weren't any server issues, people would find something else to whine about. If you're hunting for a F2P game, you'd best leave this community.
I've added a bunch of crysta to my account and signed up for the 180 day plan (hopefully all went well with the registration and payment option I selected >.>;; I'd hate for the account management site to be experiencing butthurt service too.) I am however extremely disappointed with how SE handled our name changes; advertising the info on the Lodestone site is just beyond stupid in my opinion. I am hoping that they will offer a paid service (yay tossing away more money -_- /sigh) and if so at that point they keep the info PRIVATE.
I would be willing to pay for a subscription if they make some sort of compensation for my time lost not playing the game. There are literally no servers that are not full and there is no way to play at this time. This has to breach some sort of legal agreement for goods and services. I am not saying I would personally do it but I believe they should offer customers the option to return the game for a full refund. Even if they don't the name of Square Enix will likely not recover from their ineptitude as too many customers are going to spread the word about not being able to play after paying for it. You can argue all you want I am positive they have lost a large chunk of game buyers and future subs.
I already bought the Crysta for 30 Days sub...so yes i will. :)
I actually like the game a lot and I am not planning on quitting before I hit the level cap and experience end-game, but it is a little disheartening that I can rarely log on. I can only pretty much play on weekends and prime time on weekdays and it is a rarity that I get through to the point where I have barely ever been able to play. I'm not the type to leave my computer on all day and night just to stay logged in, I'm not that obsessed with getting in but...I mean it's a little ridiculous that I can't play a game I paid for lol. Like at all.
HELL MOT^%RF#@&!NG NO!!
Yes I will. Not because they gave 7 more free days. I would anyway because I like this game and I like where it is headed. So there are queues. It's new and it's popular. I would be more worried if the world were empty and the game was crap. Hurray that it isn't. I have a lot of patience and am in this for the long haul.
NO. NO. NO. NO. No .NO . No. nO.
Already subbed for 30 more days, so yes. It'll get fixed, and everything will be fine. In a couple months everyone will forget about 1017 anyways, and be bitching about something else. Alot of MMO players have awful short term memory and just move from one complaint to the next, anyways.
No. I'm not paying anything else for it until I can login anytime I want and not have to worry about whether I can get in or not. And not having a reliable queue to deal with the excess of people trying to login to the game is annoying as hell.
However, I really like the game and enjoy playing it. If they can get the login issues fixed, then I'll definitely be around playing.
Also, I started making this post in between failed login attempts, and now that the game finally let me in. I'm not logging out either. Fix your stuff SE! Please.
I will be subscribing without a doubt, and I know fixes are coming, but in the current state if it
was always like this, i would not stick around lol
I have never before seen an MMO company incapable of implementing a queue system. 1017 is just an insult to the consumer base - I have absolutely no problem sitting in 3000 person queues waiting for my chance; in fact, I expect long log-in delays. However, having no idea when I can get it - having to constantly relogin because the company can't get a proper queue system working.. unacceptable.
That being said - I enjoy the game, it was worth the initial fee (free game time included). If I'm compensated appropriately for the last week of wasted time (and the time wasting stops) then I'll give it a month sub. The game's "newness" should last through that, at least. However, beyond that it really depends on new content. I can pay the same monthly sub over at wow and get quality content at a reasonable pace - SE will have to do that, too (while polishing the game itself) if it wants to keep getting my money.
Made a long angry post about how incompetent the devs are when it comes to basic issues like an auto afk kicker and a queue that's worth a damn. Was to long. Long story short no, I will not give them anymore money if its not fixed. I've had to fight the urge to do a chargeback which is pretty easy to do when I remind myself how fun the game is when I can play. By the way, 4 hours straight today trying to log in while watching football and only seen the terrible queue one time just to get an error obtaining world information.
I hope they get their shit straightened out. The game really is a lot of fun. And no white knights don't bother telling me about the 7 free days. I could care less. Take those 7 free days and actually fix the issue in a timely manner not 2 weeks later. This really makes me worry about future issues that may come up.
I would have responded no a few days ago. Since then, I've seen the later dungeons and storyline content.
I'm addicted. Errors or not, I'm pleased to be a loyal fan.
I played FFXIV 1.0 thru 1.23. Been through the rough times and the good times. Already registered for 180 days and plan on continuing to do so.
Already did. Solid game, fast response times, dev-interaction on the forums, compensation for screw-ups, communication of plans to fix issues, I'm sold.
These issues are nothing, man up. Imo.
I will stay for the month fee and if things don't change i am out. But i will not return to playing Wow. If i wanted to play repetitive content i would play the same console game over and over. Wow recycles way to much content and that will be the second reason i would leave FF14, repetitive content or recycled content is a big no for me.
How can I subscribe when I always get an error when I try to add payment options? Maybe if they FIXED that I would.
I already sub and I am not regret it, this is a temporary problem which they admit and already dress how they will fix it and even update on it as well, why make it into a big deal ?
