Im right there with you, it is absurd that they think this game is worth having on store shelves.
I have reached the end of my rope this week with all the issues, at the very least I will not be subbing.
Well thank goodness for little things, impatient and entitled... cya, don't let the door smack you on the hind-side. To think that creating a thread to exude your "feelings" nobody cares, it's a business, you don't want to be a part of it contact customer support, nobody on the forums can do a thing and you know it. Otherwise you are just seeking attention hoping to justify your emotions with others of a similar ilk.
i started playing at release, and never had any problems, gj SE :)
Well to be honest, I do believe most of the issues at the moment should have been dealt with during beta (thought that is what it was for), and even know it's extremely annoying not being able to get in with friends on the same server right now, I do believe these things will be taken care of eventually. Besides all the major server problems this game is the most beautifully put together game so far that I have ever encountered...at least the leveling experience. I'm quite enjoying it. If end game is as satisfying it will all be worth the wait. At least for me. I think most people are more upset because of the fact that it's so good but just can't play when they want right now =/
People whinging about a MMO on release not being stable.
Go play WoW. ha
It's not their first launch! And even if I wanted my money back tech support is so screwed they could never process your ticket.

They really need to sticky that in every single section of the forums.
First, this is a RE-LAUNCH.
Read that again.
"WE MADE THE WORST MMO EVER IN HISTORY, SO BAD THAT WE ACTUALLY HAD TO PUT IT BACK INTO DEVELOPMENT. NOW WE ARE BEGGING FOR YOUR GOOD WILL WITH A RELAUNCH."
It should have been the smoothest opening day in history.
I've had this game since the first hour of EA and haven't been able to login for even a minute. Not even gotten through the opening cut scene. It's total garbage.
You forum knights above bashing OP must crawl around on all fours, because you are fuc king sheep. The game is non-functional over a week now. It's called bait and switch, selling an empty box, fraud, etc.
I want my money back too, but Amazon, GMG, and SE all refused. Telling us to contact service is ignorant.
I don't understand why you people have to bash everybody that isn't satisfied with the game. I know if I paid for something and couldn't even use it for a week, I'd be upset too. If you don't like what they have to say, don't read the post. Nobody cares about your feeling either.
People tend to misunderstand the meaning of the word "entitled" these days. To be entitled is to have a right or claim to something. See, when you pay money for a product, you actually are, in fact, entitled to get the product you were promised. You are paying money for that entitlement. So yes, people are quite justified in feeling entitlement in this situation. They paid to have a product that was usable to them on the 27'th, and through fault of the company from which said product was purchased, that's not what they're getting, plain and simple.
Complaints help a business to know when they've upset their customers. The number, and general ire of the complaints allows a company to gauge the severity of their mistake, that they may prioritize major issues over lesser ones. As a paying customer, one is entitled (there's that word again) to let the company know whether or not they're happy with their product. A company that cannot put out a quality product at a price the consumer is willing to pay must either adapt their product or forfeit business. This is Capitalism 101.
Nothing improves by consumers bending over and taking it whenever things go wrong. Such people (not saying you specifically) are often referred to as "sheep", as they allow said businesses to drive them, instead of the consumer driving business. That's how the capitalist system gets broken, corporations get out of control, yadda yadda yadda...the point is, apathy never solves anything.
I just wanna say, its the first week and there are way too many people for the game xD players are world-wide, so there are bound to be issues. People will try to hack the game, people leaving their characters logged in over night, etc.etc. SE doesn't want this project to fail, especially with all of the developmental capitol they are throwing at this, so if you are still crying about not getting to play, a lot of people haven't played that want to. So just wait a week and see how it goes.
Yawn. Yeah I've been able to play sparingly, but I have received 1017 errors for hours each day along with all the other ones including game crashes. Does it suck? Absolutely. Am I threatening a full refund? No. It's called perspective. Any MMO veteran knows this (I know it sounds crazy but it's true) launch has been smoother than most (and I mean across the whole population of players). So yeah. It'll be fixed.
I agree with the money back. Somehow I wound up with two accounts on my PS3 which leaves me with one active account with no characters nor my preorder items and one inactive account with all my stuff that can't be logged into nor reactivated. There doesn't even seem to be options to end service yourself. All this because I shouldn'thave said "Yes, I already have a Square Enix account" before scrolling down. How I would know to scroll down on my big ole TV and that dark PS3 scroll bar is anyones guess too.
Also annoying is how quickly all the servers got locked out of new characters. Some of my friends got the game on launch day and thus can't start on the same server as myself. Also, their servers filled so fast, that I can't move to there. Not that I can do anything, given my first problem.
I addressed Square in every way possible short of writing a physical peter and going there. Filling out the special form for my issue is suppose to be addressed in a bout two weeks (so much for the utility of 3-Day early access). The phone is always busy. Live chat takes two hours of being in a queue before you're up, in which it tells you there're no representatives available and cancels your status (tried it 3 times yesterday, all with the same result and approx. 2.5 hour wait times each).
I received an email from them today ayer I told them if they can't fix it, refund me and cancel all services. Their response says my email has been received and they'll get back to me in two business days. (4-5 days from when I sent it).
I think most of the problem stems from Square thinking this game wouldn't garner any sales, so wouldn't need many servers of quality. The issue I and many PS3 owners are having is a failure to design a sensible UI for the code registration.
Thing is , they wanted a causal game, and there sign up system ,It became hardcore sign up and broken system to get into the game. And if you went to a store and they treated you like this would you come back? even if there was a sell Or only the special few were allowed through the door?. Some will others will not. Then at some point. There will be a deal that will be to good to resists. but how many years or days. And yet will come back ?

oh dear not everything got explained to why there are issues wow, the producer didnt go out of his way to explain things, well i for one am overly enjoying this game and well one less or a hundred less or even 1000 less people suddenly going back to WoW as they cant log in here wont be missed, infact please go, go right now it allows for people who actually suppoort SE to get in game.
I totally understand what you're saying, but to constantly complain after the company has already addressed the issues is kind of ridiculous. The producer apologized, took full responsibility for what is happening and will provide compensation soon. What else do you want them to do?
There really nothing wrong with the game except server problems, it a very good game and many other think so too. Server problems and bad gameplay are two different things.
you would never think they actually are........http://31.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_md...05iuo1_400.gif as it stands the people who complain are the dogs and the biscuit can be the attention
what they should do is to extend the free to play(not our 30 days free trial because this is for the money we paid for the game) until the issue is fixed(they already know the issue and know the solution). The thing is that user paid money for a game that they would't be able to play(at least most of the time). I also don't understand why people suggest that player complain it or want the money back to not to play this game and leave. This is extractly what people said in 1.0, if you don't like it, then don't play it. and 1.0 failed. if SE/vendor that sell this game offer money back to people, i do think many people will do that. I will be one of them.
p.s. I am not complain the game itself, the game so far is good. The way SE handle this is wired. if server has restriction and they know it, they should restrict the character creation at the very begining. if the thing is already happened, they should offer the free transfer asap (one week to adding new servers is very long time, add character transfer is very easy to do and SE is not the first time doing it).
Was talking with another person and agree with what they said once SE gets this sorted out and everything running fine everyone will forget about all this not going to see anyone sitting around and being like you remember at launch when you couldn't login
Fear the power of angry nerds SE!
Angry nerds have a lot of power: it's called "the ability to take your money elsewhere." Nothing gets a company's attention more than pissing off enough people severely enough that many of them walk away, taking their money with them. All the in-forum screeching in the world won't get SE's attention more than one person saying "you know what, this isn't worth the $12-15/month" and seeking entertainment elsewhere. This is already happening and SE knows it.
How hard is it to give us that got 2 accounts with a real activated , not extra trial time till it fixed? In a reasonable manner hell can take some my days off my free play if want to. I think most just want are character back now, not 1hr to 2 weeks or win lotto get fixed now.
Me personally? I just want some feedback on the situation. I'd like them to keep us posted on the different issues that keep arising and to let us know what they're doing about it.
Then again, I'm also a legacy member so I didn't have to actually pay the box price for 2.0, meaning there's no immediate monetary loss for me. For other people, though, I can understand why they would be so upset.
Edit: To be clear on what I mean by "feedback", I mean more than just the cookie cutter "Yeah that's a thing. Sorry." responses they've been giving us.
Nerdrage and actual rage are different. 1.0 being such a crappy game warranted actual rage and hate but a much better version of the game with server problems is just nerdraging cause as said in previous post they will be the same ones that will forget all about the troubles once the server problem gets fixed
offinsive see someones fishing for a negative response> to answer OP i can say SE has the worse customer support and poor communication skills they are on par with EA and how Simcity 2013 was handled >too soon?
as for the game i sign in play for about 4-6 hours get a client not responding then closes restart the client to a lock out error 1017 > added to that people have been harrassing me in /shout chat cause of my character name i had 2 yesterday which were telling me to "kill yourself" because my character name is cloude strife so as far as i know they banned him late last night cause i petitioned it > for a rated T MMORPG harrassment ingame is high!!
Supporting a company doesn't mean bowing to their every whim, licking their boots, and taking it up the rear with a smile on your face whenever they say "bend over". That's called fanboyism, and it's one of the worst things that can happen to a company. A fanboy will NEVER give the criticism that allows a company to grow and improve. A fanboy will do whatever they can to defame the competition, even if said competition puts out a good product, not realizing that competition moves an industry forward.
If you truly support SE, you wouldn't be wishing for them to lose thousands of customers. You selfishly wish for the company you claim to love to lose business, just because people don't share your opinion. People like you hurt SE more than you realize.
nothing wrong i think just then they should increase you free trail membership since all these issues since this is eating out trail period up because of this issue
It's not being impatient or entitled (entitled maybe so but because we are entitled to a working game). I can understand like a day or two for server issues. Bioware had some server issues on launch but they got on their shit and added more (way more) within half a day and the game was back up and running again. Here we are, almost a week into the game and we've been having the same problem since pre-launch. They say we didn't expect this many people to want to play? So what, they didn't set the bar high for themselves, that just screams bad business.
Yes, I understand not every MMO has had a clear launch but most MMO launches at least let you into the game you paid for, make a character, talk with your friends, or at least let you attempt to get on a server of your choice.
I also want them to extend EA time. I bought the game but I can't play it.
Not because I can't get in the server or the client crashes but I can't play due to my physical copy hasn't arrived yet.
Yes it's sux so bad. It's been 9 days since they shipped my game this is ridiculous.
And yes I'll keep complain about this until I get my game.
If you went to a restaurants and got raw food, not sushi , what would you do and the waiter or waitress was a jerk also would you come back >? Even if you the got buy one get one free, but the same raw food ever time and server?
I can't log in either and I am annoyed. And the thing is someone said that because this is a relaunch this should have been the smoothest launch ever, and they are right. One of the reasons SE redesigned the game was because of all the technical difficulties V.1.0 had (among many other things) but here we are with many of the same log in issues. SE created an MMO and for some reason didn't make servers large enough to handle what they designed is poor design on their part. I am having patience and will still play the game but this is silly. Beta Phase 4 was only like 5 days long, can't say I didn't see this coming. We should learn from past FF to understand how to do things properly SE. In FFIX Quinna gives advice to Eiko when preparing food for the whole gang, it said something along the lines of, "Never make just enough food for everyone, always make more food than you need, in case anyone wants seconds." As is the case with the servers. The server sizes should have been made to not just barely hold enough but should have been bigger in the case where it's full and there is high traffic. The analogy makes sense I swear.
Man.... the people on this forum that cry, and cry, and cry some more... I have seen these errors myself but not for more than 5 minutes. I think if people had just a little bit of patience, they would be running around in Eorzea like the rest of us who sat for 3 minutes and continued to click on our characters!! Even through the beta phases I was able to get in without much waiting, and now that SE has began fixing (not quite fixed) the problems, there has been a significant change in the ease of logging in. I truely hope that you can find it in your hearts to forgive yourselves for not sitting at the comp without shi tting bricks and logging in like errbody else brah.
