Emergency Maintenence?

On balmung we just got the message "we are now starting emergency maintenence"
with no warning
and there is no announcement on the website
and none of us have been disconnected....
what is going on? Did other servers get this too?

Just happened on Sargatanas as well. Have yet to be kicked off though.

I logged out, I don't want to be stuck in limbo. But I see no announcement on the Lodestone?

Happened on Midgard too.

Hyperion has received this message and I have not been forced to log out yet.

well it is Emergency Maintenence dont need a warning.

Phoenix as well. I got 90k out of the game, and when i tried to go back in, the server list was down. so obviously not just one server.

Same on ultros, nothing yet. Someone in /sh mentioned seeing a list and saying ultros wasn't on it. I didn't bother to inquire further.

Could be a global message, even if it's only affecting specific servers.

but it can have information placed on the forums or news page of the game it's self..

I got it on balmung as well, i just logged as i dont want to be stuck in limbo either

All EU/NA server list is currently down and unable to update from the launcher. :/
Not that it makes any difference to me as I have been locked out the entirety of
my only day off due to 1017. Maybe I can get in when they bring 'em back up.

I think they should implement a daily play limit, like 8hrs max per 24hr period.
Anyone with a macro keyboard can get past an afk timer. Players would instead
want to log out when they weren't playing so as to not waste their play time.
It would keep the no lifers from clogging up the servers and somewhat even
the playing field.

I think the majority fall within' this daily limit and perhaps would not even reach it.

Also; Because of 1017 I haven't been able to play and reach a sufficient level so
as to make more than 3 posts per day on the forum? wtf.

Just got home from the office. Can't Log into NA/EU at all... If nothing else at least this will boot the AFK'ers and Goldspammers :)

Got it on Leviathan as well, but here we are still playing.

Guildies said they got the message on Leviathan but they are still playing as well. I haven't been able to get on due to the "Unable to update Group NA/EU" message for the last 30 minutes.

They probably made the announcement and giving folks time to get to an inn. Just to be safe I stopped my tailoring in Ul'dah and ran to the inn and jumped into the bed. I did not want to be stuck in limbo, and I didn't want to be rolled back either.

yea that's what it looks like. It has been at least 20 minutes and I'm still logged in. Had to be lobby

The na lodestone isnt showing anything in the news tab but look at the brigh side those od you experience 1017 can try to get in

Can't because when you try to get back in it won't load the NA/EU server list. This is BS. We had to abort a Titan mid-fight to log out just in case. I find it very strange that no warning other than the one purple line was given and now the entire news/update/status sections of the Lodestone are blank...

I got it on ragnarok as well as I was about to logoff for the night so yea gl if you logged off and hf if you are still on an goodnight all

All the announcement did was make people actually playing the game log off and probably not get back in due to 1017. Bots, AFKERS and gilspammers are still in as the servers never actually went down. As of yet anyways.

Wish the notification mentioned that logging out was not needed.

Great... World server gone as I was in the middle of fighting the login boss...

Just got my collecters edition today and was excited to play the game...that was around 4pm and I haven't been able to log in yet because of error 1017 and then the unable to get NA/EU character data shows up so I'm at least waiting for everything to be up again before trying again and hopefully playing alittle before going to bed for work tomorrow

This is what I think is currently going on. If not then I am stumped as to what it could be.

I just wanted to add to this, I logged out as well and have not been able to load the NA/EU world list yet. My husband stayed logged on and has yet to be kicked.

Sever: Balmung

I got tossed from Balmung (90000), but that happens to me once a day no matter what...not sure if related.

I was booted from Coeurl soon after the announcement (90000), so if you're still in, don't bank on staying there.

Everyone was ALREADY ahead of me... and now this... I cant get in becuase it won't update the list... but all my friends are still playing. I was the only one who got kicked.... Thanks SE!!!!!! My little time this weekend I could play, and this was all I wanted to do...

My game froze, no sound, FFXIV stopped responding...

Now I can't get in :/

At least I made it to my inn room....

i got the emergency maintenance message too. i logged out to play on a different sever and now i cant get back in
