Same here :(
I just got right now as well.
Same thing. I assume the extra traffic for the long weekend is killing the login servers (which is what happens when you don't implement a queue and make 100k people keep re-hitting them every 10-15 seconds).
I got a Runtime Exception error or something like that and the game crashed on me. Now, I'm getting the same message, "Unable to find NA/EU servers."
yup! you beat me on the post lol.
this is a buncha bs....
Yep, same issue here... Going to be a long weekend... so irritating!
............
Same issue here. And the Square-Enix launch failure continues. I'm starting to consider asking for my money back. First impressions are key and this is a bad second impression of the first impression of their second try at making a modern mmo. Doesn't exactly make you want to run out and buy Square-Enix stocks does it?
Wish they would have just made like twice as many servers and worst case just have combined some of them later on...
glad to see I'm not the only one with this problem...played all day, then crashed out of the blue and been getting this message.
Sucks, have not had a chance to play all week and this still happens....
same here..this is getting ridiculous
same, really sucks
Ditto here, unable to see server.
Long weekend is right!
So we finally killed the servers... Why am I not impressed?
I kept pressing 0 over and over and over while watching TV. When I stopped hearing the character screen music I was relieved, I had finally gotten in... I was happy. Then the game loaded and I was like "Wait... this isn't my character! This is the alt I made in a JP server!". You mock me yet again SE!
I thought the japanese took pride in their work I guess some don't some do. I find that the people that made this game don't.
When finally i get my registration code calling directly to Digital River, the servers are down ;(
Maybe they shut down the servers to kick all the AFK'ers... one can dream.
You know, despite Yoshi-P getting really emotional during his Live Letter over the issues the game's servers or anything.....Don't be so quick to belittle.
And yes, I understand the frustration of not being to log in, I was assaulted with errors during EA.
With this many people reporting the issue it once it looks like the servers might have gone belly-up...maybe they crashed. Kick all those pesky idlers off at least.
Husband just got emergency server maintenance notice while he was playing. Perhaps some player data got messed up this evening so it's affected only select people?
Been trying to play this game all week. Got a total of about an hour and a half of playtime because I logged in really late but then had to go to bed so I could get some sleep for work. I concur with others that say there should have been extra servers to handle the launch. It's almost as if they only expected the current FFXI population or something. Of course there's not telling how many gil-sellers are clogging up the works, and with a complete lack of logging out inactive players, that means real people are unable to log in.
I have it. It does show all JP servers up as well.
Same issue, I just want to play the game lol
I'm receiving this error. Normally restarting the game helps, but so far that isn't working.
same deal..
I got a "we are starting Emergency Maintenance" alert at 8:31p, and logged since I was just emerging from an instance and didn't want to be scragged.
NA servers are now unlisted--the couple of JP worlds I tried to hit are full.
Yoshi put out another letter recently--300,000 simultaneous connections on a farm that basically underestimated the interest. It sounds like they truly thought their rep had been slagged by 1.0 and would have to grow gradually. And then the onslaught began.....
Yay just what I wanted when I got came home from work...
Oh my goodness... These poor Dev's! XD
Can I just come down to your guys' office and give each of you a supporting hug? You guys apparently need one.... ^.^
This issue has started just a moment ago for me as well, however I wasn't even in the game yet. I had just gotten logged in and got the message that the NA/EU servers were not findable... First thoughts were "Oh, the poor devs, there goes the NA/EU servers again." :)
NOTE TO ALL RANTING PLAYERS:
Guys, calm down and don't even start yelling or screaming at the poor dev's... They have enough on their plate without having to deal with angry customers as well. This is LAUNCH month, there is GOING to be issues like this! If you cannot deal with it, then just don't pay for a subscription, wait a few more months and watch the forums for the technical issues, then decide when you want to come back and try the game again. The Dev's can only do so much so fast... Your yelling and complaining and whinning will not help.
P.S.: BTW... This is not specific to anyone, this is just for anyone/everyone that wants to complain and reads this.
Read on another forum (JSP) that the maintenance should only be around 2 hours. This is by no means official in any way, but could be accurate so I will try back in 2 or so hours(10:30).
My first thought was "I want blood, they better be firing someone over this launch." And no on launch there shouldn't be issues like this. A login queue for a mmo is basic. It's like having bag space. You make sure to include it. Their servers are crashing because they have hundreds of thousands of people hitting the log in button and getting "Servers are full please try again later." A login queue puts people in a nice neat orderly line. Duh.
This crap is getting old. I get home from work and want to play. Log in and NA servers don't even appear. What a joke. This is a week later. Square better extend the free 30 days of play. i would suggest doubling it. What a joke. I just want to play the game. I would say since last saturday, trying to play the game has only been about 25% successful. I mean in terms of actually logging in and being able to play.
