You hit Surplus in mining :) there a limit how much you can mine.
2.500 is your limit each time you get a item it take 10 point alway so you can do the math how many item you can get before you hit surplus you regain points back every few hours. so you need to stop mining and do something else while you wait :)
OK thanks alot, because I was just owning at mining then started sucking everytime without fail lol
Speaking of raging...anyone else get a crapton of Zinc ores in Grade 5?....I do and i'm fed up of getting zinc mainly when i'm aiming at gold, silver or mythril. I understand giving us too much of one type would flood it but c'mon, zinc ores? really?...
Essential for making brass, but yeah, I feel it too.
I just wait till I hit a stack of 99 zinc ore then sell to NPC for gil. +2/+3 goes in the retainer for brass production or eventual bazaar sale.
Think of it this way - if you mined mythril easier and more frequently, it would be worth far less. Every zinc brings you closer to a mythril and makes that mythril more precious.
lol if i only could get in that mindset, there's just too much zinc. I call it the plague ore @_@
Hq Zinc + Hq Copper = Hq Brass Nugs
Hq Brass Nugs x5 + LUCK = HQ Brass ingot
HQ Brass ingot = better odds to get HQ scimitar :)
Lol it sure does, but it's now overly abundant to get zinc and is just way too annoying. I'd rather penalize myself the SP by having to go down in grades of deposits just to get a lower class ore than to have it plague my higher tier deposits. To me it's shameful to get something so low on a higher grade, especially when i'm so close to cap!
its not the zinc thats annoying its the difficulty of getting copper compared to zinc XD
Oh, man. Go to Camp Skull Valley, strike at +3, and you'll get more than enough copper ore. For the longest time, I only mined there, and it seemed like I was never getting anything but copper. I actually left to go find zinc.
And in essence it makes sense to have to back track to get ores, which is what i suggest they do in the same regard to zinc. I'm sorry but something i got an over-abundance of in grade 2 should not be equally abundant, necessarily even there, in grade 5...our current highest grade.
I know you can get plenty from low level areas, but the original quote was talking about zinc at grade 5, I just meant that you get tons of zinc there but no copper making the zinc useless. similarly with gold sand when you stop getting silver sand.
And as mentioned if you are going to go back to grade 2 where you are goign to get even more zinc, you might as well make the zinc less available grade 5. I have always had an over abundance of zinc compared to copper
Did you try setting the gauge at different levels? If you mine on each notch for long periods of time you'll find certain items become less or more abundant. You can solve the too much zinc problem if you figure it out. In grade 5 grid I get primarily silver, gold, and iron. For me zinc in LL areas didn't pop up until grade 4 and is still rare as gemstones at iron lake. Am I lucky? Maybe...
Doesn't matter what notch i have it on, i end up getting a crapton of zinc. LL is my safe-haven from zinc...ul'dah and gridania hate me and plague me with it.
i always aim for either gold or mythril for obvious reasons
i currently just run around all crazy like with 2 stacks of NQ gold ore in my bazaar...just holding on to it of course.
It would be nice that instead of removing zinc/copper/tin whatever from high grades you got +2/3 ores more often than not.
Absolutely agree with this... even if I hit the direct spot of the ore it just gives me "You damaged the ore" instead of giving me a second shot or mining it.
this happens quite frequently on the first hit, when i have plenty of the "remaining" bar left.
Read the next post down. It's surplus.
