A bit concerning... Not a troll thread

Not really worried persay about this, but just seems very... (for lack of a better word) different that people on the new servers have already started up their relic weapon quests.

Please note I'm not saying the game is too easy, or that the devs are doing something wrong.
But just seems that getting to the relic weapon quest technically 3 days after launch is a bit underwhelming.

Ah well, game is still fun and I'm loving it, but there are just some things I miss from 1.0

It is pretty much par for the course for NA users. Cry and complain a game is too difficult in beta so they dumb it all down and then they complete all the content in 3 days post launch so that they can cry an complain that there is nothing to do. It's like the Ground Hog Day of the MMO world.

These are the people in hardcore endgame FCs who booked the whole week off work and haven't logged out save for maintenance since EA started. Who also capped all 20s over beta 4. They're a minority. I've been playing a fair bit and had both beta4 and EA and have my first class at 33.

I'll never understand why people do that, but to each their own!

Had two Magitek riders hanging out in Camp Horizon for some reason. I have to admit, I was annoyed because I felt like they'd spoiled it for me. Same with all the Scholars, Summoners and Black Mages running around in AF armor.

The sun is there true enemy! Mahaha ^.^

So glad I'm taking my time... I don't see the joy in rushing to end game. That's just me, though. To each his own.

This happens with all of these games. You will always have people sprinting for the end just to claim being the first there and such. These people typically have no life or took time off work/school because they... have no life. :p Whats worse is that they go to low level areas and just stand there in AF gear and such, as if they are showing off but I always feel the joke is on them >.>

Not a big deal though. I want to hit 50 as much as the next person. I admit I was a little bit disappointed in seeing the Magitek so soon and have it spoiled, but that's how it goes.

Taking my time here, just hit 40 this morning. Loving the story, questing, instances are tough enough for me to enjoy on my first run through; but well designed enough that my next few runs go somewhat smooth. xD

I'm taking my time, I'll get there in a month or so.

But, OP, what you're saying is just cause a bunch of people like to rush and are doing endgame stuff within a week, I should have to be forced to go through an extremely long grind to get there myself? Just cause people rush doesn't mean the game needs to be adjusted for them. All it does is hurt the majority who take their time. If people are doing their relic quests already, you should just chill. Play the game how you want and don't get so overly concerned with how others are playing.

Some people just have more free time than others, some people from 1.0 were still doing the relic reborn quest before the server shutdown.



I remember the days when everyone in Ul'dah woud show off their shiny new Primal weapon in active stand and afk for hours.

Huh? Relic weapon is the ultimate weapon in the game, it should be a grind to get imo. I don't know why you think I'm angry at the gamers for getting to the relic weapon all i said was it was underwhelming. Please don't look for drama where there was none intended.

You always have ppl rush to the end on one class but that is usually the only thing they have worked on. I have ppl in my FC that laugh at me because my glad is only 27 but what the dont see is all my DoH DoL classes are between lvls15-21 and while they are scrambling to buy items in market I can make almost anything I'll need. I find that by taking my time I'll be more efficient when my time comes I already have all my armor and weapons made to lvl my next class to lvl 20 without having to buy anything.

I don't really understand the rush to finish the content as soon as humanly possible. I'm taking my time, enjoying it, experiencing life in this awesome new world. :)

But to each their own fun.

Getting to the relic weapon quest only means hitting 50/finishing the story, obtaining it is another matter. It really shouldn't be concerning, powergamers enjoy seeing how fast they can do things.

ah thats true... Forgot that Relic Weapons didn't come out till later in 1.0 which is why it took so long to get to them.

(still would like more grouping to accomplish things outside of dungeons and trials, and maybe a bit more difficulty added here and there though ^_^)

I'm not looking for any drama. Your topic literally said you are concerned that people are starting an endgame activity 6 days after launch. I am telling you some people will rush, but that's ok and shouldn't affect how you are playing. I don't get where you got "drama" out of this, but w/e. Interpret my post however you want.

This is pretty much why game makers should never pay attention to the hardcore players that will power-level to the cap in a week or two and whine about a lack of content or difficulty. They are a tiny, tiny minority, and their 'loss' is our gain. I've logged a decent number of playing hours and am level 24 on my main class, this game should not be about speed runs, but about making friends, working together and having fun over months, if not years. People who can pop the level caps within a week of launch and are bored already need to move on to something more suited to them, not sure what that would be, but clearly it's not this.

I was in Beta Phase 2 & 3 with a little bit of time in Early Access and all I have so far is a lv 17 CNJ.

But I like to take my time with stuff like this....savor the game instead of blowing through it like a crackhead who won the lottery.

Wrong. Relic is now af weapon. Relic +1 on the other hand...

Those with Relic Weapons whatever those are. Are the 24 hour playing people Hardcore/Obsessed. If you play like that I say you deserver to get everything you want with speed.

I really dont have a problem with players getting to 50 already... (if i did I'd be hating on all the legacy players) I think maybe the whole idea of reaching relic weapon so soon is underwhelming to me because it seems like those players will quickly run out of things to do if they are already going to do the hardest thing on the list. Then again, this might just be a concern to me because I'm an officer in a guild and don't want to see members leave due to boredom.
I was prepared for the flavor of the month people, and the exit after subscriptions start up, but I should have been more ready for the borg mole people who are physically attached to their PC/PS3. (yeah that was a nerdly Star Trek/Scifi reference, so what?!)

I can't see why people would take time off work for a game that's going to be around for years thats pathetic to me. You know what I'm taking time off work for, to go to Vegas and guess what the game will still be there when I get back.

But its not the hardest thing on the list. Its not like 1.0 anymore, so I wouldn't worry too much about those ppl running out of things to do, they took a lot of steps out of the relic quest that were there in 1.0 because relic is needed for Crystal Tower & those weapons are needed for Bahamut & those probably will be pretty challenging.

So no worries I think there will be/is plenty to do ^_^b

Even casuals are burning through content too fast right now. I have a couple characters, plus a level 50 WHM legacy character.

I'm having a good time, but if I'm being realistic, I think people are going to run out of stuff to do well before November. Just pigeonholing all end-game content into raids is shallow and boring-- see post-WotLK. This is why games that are TOO casual don't work in a P2P setting.

also ask these players about eorzean lore... i bet they havent read a single word from the quest givers.

I'm on my relic quest, but it certainly is a far cry from easy. Fighting that Chimera was a pain in the butt! And now we have take on all the primals in hardmode! I love a challenge though.
