[patch1.17] Love the new healthbar feature but...

It needs a few more options.

- Toggle for showing HP bars seperately on players and enemies
- Toggle for showing HP bar on oneself (I don't want this because I can clearly see my own HP bar on the HUD)
- toggle for showing HP bar on party members
- toggle for showing HP bar on non-party members

I'm thinking they already plan to have more options, though- given that the current options are "all" and "off" instead of "on" and "off."

i agree, they should add that. not only the commands but they should add that in the option menu as well.

I'd be surprised if they didn't finish this feature off with a bit more control over which health bars you see. If it wasn't in the works...at the very least, please consider a separate option for enemies and friendlies. Ideally, it would be great to be able to toggle your own as well as make it only enemies who your party is engaged with, if you so desire.

i'm really glad for this all the same- It's a godsend when you're using AoE attacks on partied mobs. I don't even think WoW's standard interface has this (though I know there are mods that do it)

On top of this, I would also like to be able to hide my name over my character's head, not just all names. I already know what my name is, I don't need it hanging over my head.

I like it, but imo its too big, should be like 75% of its current size. But I do love it!!!

I agree with what everyone is saying here. I do think that more options are on the way determining which health bars are shown and which are hidden. I also agree that it would be better if the health bars were smaller. The only other change I'd really like to see is health bars that appear when a mob or PC gets within range of the player character. It would be less distracting if health bars of mobs way off in the distance were hidden.

Speaking of which and somewhat related to this, why do we not have an interface menu via the escape key.

All these text commands will drive new players round the bend, a simple user interface with tick boxes would be much appreciated, perhaps they plan to do this eventually I duno, but thought I would suggest it non the less.

Would love to have the option to toggle the health bars to hostile targets only.

Agreed with OP and agreed with this. Also it needs to be a little darker imo.

I think the size is just fine. I don't want them to be tiny (especially since models block the view of the bars), I just don't want them to not be on me and my party.

I agree it should be more customizable in terms of size and what groups have the health bar. I do like it how it is and would have it turned on for all regardless

i agree
but some info too many options will get a bit out of hand and will eat up space. Remember even ffxi had to stop with giving the auto translate becayse they knew the hhd wre limited. Remember ffxiv is also gonna be a ps3 game... too many options can take up room.

I would also like the option to toggle to the old system too!

When i enable Enemy HP bar i see TWO HP bar for the same enemy when i target it >.>

Can you remove the 2nd HP bar when i target the mob please?

every dev team in the world who has experienced in MMO they should do it that way from the beginning without suggestion from anyone

this is another proof that how newbie they are...

I hope they make it so you can hide YOUR character data

As said before with the name thing, why do I have to have my own help bar? I have the big giant one at the bottom of the screen.

I was totally thinking the same thing! I really hope they do add more options. I like to see Enemy HP bars but not PC HP bars for example.

I don't see 2 bars. You must have a bug. Unless you mean the standard target bar, but that one should still be there- it doesn't just show the HP, it also shows the buffs and debuffs on the target. But if you really want to get rid of it, oyu can just drag it so it's mostly off the screen.

I'm not sure what you're talking about, simply because I don't know any other MMORPGs that (with the default interface) can show the HP bars above mobs heads (almost as if it was an RTS game). theyre giving us something few other games have, and you think they're "newbie" because of it?

I wish there would be an option to toggle your own name. I don't know how often I have to suggest it. ; ; I don't need to see my own name all of the time.

People complained about a cramped UI, yet nobody seems to be annoyed by something that floats right in the middle of the screen and doesn't even have a real purpose of being there in the first place. lol

As for the hp bars etc: Maybe it's just me but I can't activate them (just to see whether I I like 'em or not). Isn't it [/hpbar all], [/erank on] etc (without the [])? Which brings me right to my next point:
I'd like to see some kind of button in the menu which allows me to toggle stuff like that. I'm sure there are enough people out there who don't follow patch notes as closely as I do and therefor don't even know these options exist.

Other than that, I'm starting to see some light at the end of the tunnle. ^^

I agree, would love to see this to be toggelable to only monsters at least, kinda annoying to run in town and seeing health bars on everyone lol.

Every dev team in the world can just snap their fingers and the feature is implemented, unlike SE, who, as mortal as they are, have to actually develop said feature first. SE, as rude as they are, also implement features before they are fully and 100% perfect and they seem to, for some God knows what reason, rather develop those features along the way instead of keeping it to themselves until every little detail is ready and only then release it to public.

In a nutshell, we are dealing with newbs here.
