I just wanted to ask about gold farmers/sellers. Is it against the rules? Can we report these people (in-game or elsewhere)?
Example of what I mean in the screenshot....

Hi there. It is against the rules to sell gil. If you see a gold seller the best thing to do is add them to the blacklist and report them to the in game GM's. To add them the your blacklist simply type /blacklist in your chat log to bring up your black list menu.
Then simply add the name of the spammer to stop seeing there shouts.
I did a search for this person on Lodestone, but no matching usernames are appearing.
Also, who are the in-game GM's and how do you reach them? Thanks for telling me how to blacklist, I'll add them the next time they pop up :)
I know your pain, but the people of Midgardsormr are standing up and fighting back! Blacklist and reporting for harassment is our weapon of choice. ^.^
Are you sure that blacklist filters shout? Unless they've changed that recently it wasn't ...
Is there an easier way to blacklist someone? The gold sellers on Malboro don't have exactly the easiest names to spell out to type into my blacklist on the PS3.
Its pointless blacklisting them, they usually delete the character after a while and simply make a new one rendering your blacklist useless.
Just report them and then ignore.
System > Support Desk > Contact Us > Report Cheating (This one refers to the buying and selling of in game items and not solely for botting/hacks)
Until the devs and gms provide a better account filter and security, the gold spammers will grow and flourish. On the PS3, the on screen keyboard does not allow typing names that are all lower case or copy/paste. The gil spammers with the www as part of the name are actually bots, and are hard to blacklist on the PS3 because of the limitations of entering names.
It is not fair that the gil spammers can get on the servers anytime they want, but legitimate players have to wait in que or deal with full servers.
It is hard to ignore when you are starting a new character and all of the gil spammers are hanging out there, choking the chat box. It is nice that the devs provided a way to report spamming, but it would be better if they addressed the issue with a word of acknowledgement in the forums.
Unfortunately this happens in every game especially at launch, Square-Enix were very good with FFXI after the economy crashed years ago due to gold sellers and set up an in house team who deal solely with gold sellers and bots. I would assume the same team will expand into FFXIV
I certainly hope so such cheaters have killed other games in the past and should be banned and dealt with severely as possible. It is a threat to everyone and the fun of the game world in many ways.
