BRINGING US BACK TO LOGIN SCREEN IS IT THAT HARD TO PROGRAM?
Do we really need more of these threads?
There is a queue and even the queue has limits. Considering the number of people trying to log on at any given time, I'm not surprised it is the way it is.
Idk bout you guys but I got in to queue quite often on coeurl. Like....3 times out of 10 tries. Each attempt was a good 10 to 20 minutes apart lol. Its getting better so hang in there. Even if u get in, your going to suffer server lagg lol
this is being addressed early next week just wait it out or login and stay on simple concept
So...should I just spam login or give it time in between? :o
Say wha...
They have a super small que. There's no excuse to have it set up the way it currently is. When I log in, if I can't get in, it should put me in a que. If that means I'm #10001 and it'll take 5hrs so be it. You're argument about having to have a que limit has no merit. To only have a que limit of a couple hundred is bad design.
I can spam '0' and get 'full' and in 10-15mins end up in a que of like less than 100 and get into the game. Clearly, not a good design.
Queues cannot be infinite. Though I do agree it is a pretty small queue for the number of people that we have. On that note, the OP says there should be one, and there is. It's pointed out that there is then the OP moves on to something else about it to complain about.
What's your deal, dude?
There's a clear differentiation between "The World is Full; Piss Off" and "The World is Full; Wait In Line"
No, queues cannot be infinite, but you are missing the point entirely. The queue is about as big as your local deli. However, the dilemma we're experiencing is one of said deli serving hundreds of thousands of customers but if you're not 1 of 100 they pick you up, put you back on your horse and slap the animal's ass. It doesn't make sense. If it makes sense to you; that's all well and good. To some, nuclear warfare is more preferable than a charitable donation.
*Character Limit*
If it makes it easier; allow me to adjust the OP's words a bit: We need a better queue. or We need a queue that works.
Being able to visually represent our expected wait time is what we want so we can manage other portions of our lives while we wait for the game to log in.
Sitting there spamming a button just to get in to the queue is beyond ridiculous and is what is being argued here.
FOCUS
Can you imagine it this weekend being its a 3 day weekend for alot of people. Yeah I don't plan on logging off!

Being able to visually represent our expected wait time
yup yup

Your sig seems oddly appropriate...
It actually is a terrible design for the que. Playing WoW where it puts you in a line of 50,000 people before you is how it should work. It takes your log in attempt and puts you in line regardless of server space. It takes little to no power to have a countdown which takes login tickets and when a spot opens it puts the number 1 in and goes down the line. It's obviously a problem that needs to be addressed and defending it is silly. But at the same time they are aware of it so making more posts won't really do anything either. Now if they weren't aware of it, that would be a different story. People saying this shouldn't happen are probably the people that thought the horrible timing of red AOE was not an issue. Just put it this way, would you rather sit at your computer for 10 min-3 hours and beyond pressing start, character name, and yes over and over and over again or would you rather just get a position in a que that ensures you to log in at a specific point of time.
Honestly if you would rather sit there and try over and over again, you have way to much time on your hands. But I know that I would much rather get in a que and go make food or do SOMETHING instead of click click click 1017 click click click 1017 repeat 50 times. And for people that say that it only takes 5 times, you are a liar. I have never attempted less than 50+ times. It sucks. But for you close minded people (aka fanboys, which I am too but I have a brain) who won't even take anything into consideration, know this. Blizzard has had this server que thing working for 6 plus years with not as up to date servers as squares. So do not say it is impossible. I understand Square was not expecting this. I can wait for it to be fixed. But defending a problem is exactly how it sounds. Defending a problem.
I'm Legacy dammit, boot these lesser beings off the server and let me on.
And today I'm back to the predicament I was in on Sunday.
Already an hour of trying to force my way into the server or some semblance of queue.
1017 error has nothing to do with the queue being full. I don't know what causes it but yesterday after spamming the 1017 error I got in queue at ~150. Today after spamming for a bit I get in at 15 and 2 seconds later im in the game.
1017 means they have login restrictions in place. The lobby server can't support all the players trying to queue so they deny access totally to keep the servers stable.
What time is it FFXIV ARR?
*The time is Ten Seventeen*
I need a drink...
I know I would love a queue myself, but with the servers currently at their breaking points, a queue, which would be held server side, would use more server space if it was unlimited in size. This is likely why a good amount of the time I personally just get the world is full message and not even a queue. The queue is will only hold so many characters. MY only problem is they queue isn't really a queue, but really the number of people trying to log in before you and will throw out the queue if the world is full instead of waiting for a free slot to open.
come on SE fix the queue system already still cant access the servers for 2nd day
last time i had to click manually for 1 hour in order to access the game
another problem is booting us back to start menu where there is a chance to get unable to load server list error
