Hatching-tide question

As my english is not that good i read about the hatching-tide event on loadstone, and i think i understand most of it.
But can someone explain more about this event?
What to do and what are the rewards?

ya im unsure about this also??? how do you get moe eggs? just keep coming back to the "dreamer" who first gives you the quest or am i missing something...

Good question...i didn't understand the event at all either. First it didn't give me any egg...after a while i got a starting egg but no other info was given regarding how to get the other eggs.

Lienn do you remember what job and what rank that job was you talked to the npc as? Also, was it after a new game day started or no? Thanks

I was MRD 50 when i talked and wasn't able to receive the quest. Later on i was as CON 27 when i received it...but even after waiting day change i wasn't able to get any more eggs

I am having trouble with this quest too :[

There was a glitch they're fixing now that stopped people from getting the quest... But after getting it, I have no idea how to get a second egg. I waited in game for approximately 8 hours and still couldn't get a second egg.

I have already receive the first piece of egg gear. I started the quest in Uldah. I used my character, my second character, and 2 LS members let me have their eggs. I required:

Archon Egg,
Water Egg,
Lightning Egg,
and Earth Egg.

After I got all 4 eggs, I talked to Wadard, and he gave me

"Pristine Egg Cap" (it's white. Does not look like NPC's hat)
Hat
Suits All Classes
Optimal Rank: 10
Def:16
Mg Defense: 27
Evasion: 10
Resilience: 18

Elemental Resistances: +19

I then proceeded to go to Limsa. The NPC has different gear on, so i assume she will give a different item. However, it has given me the error that i cannot receive another egg yet. It would not start a new quest yet for me. I will wait it out a bit. I have talked to others who say they have waited 8 hrs and have not been able to get a new egg yet, so the really BIG question is: How long do we have to wait to receive another egg from the NPC?

Yea its pretty simple guys, its supposed to get you talking to other people and bartering for other eggs, that's the only way to do it i think.

If thats the way it is, how will everyone get an egg cap if people give away or selling their only egg? I think there is something more to it.

i had to wait 30 minutes to start the quest due to the bug

But to do this, you require more than 1 egg. In game text from NPC reads:

"Well you need do no more than what she asked - keep the egg warm with prayer. Fulfill that task and she will present you with another... and another, and another."

That tells me she will be giving you 4 eggs... and you need 4 different eggs to receive the gear item (Unless it glitches).

the dreamer is wearing a multi colored hat, but gave her the white egg hat.
AND it only took two of her eggs to complete the quest to get the hat


obviously this thing is very bugged

Sounds like it. Which is kinda upsetting. I hope it gets fixed soon ^.^;

UPDATE: I tried waiting for the Anima to tick and try it... I cannot get the other cities quest yet. Also, I cannot get an egg yet for the quest I am still in on my other character. So the wait for a new egg has nothing to do with the Anima timer.

So to recap, it will not give you an Egg:

When Anima regenerates
Next game day
after 4 hrs

I'd like to know the longest someone has been waiting (RL time) for a new egg. so we can gauge it better. Worst case, it might be 1 egg per RL day. Thanks.

Well I got my egg hat and its ugly and does nothing. I really want the other gear the NPC's are wearing not the egg hat. Anyway I had been given 3 eggs from various ls members + my own egg to get the hat. I went to another city and its still not letting me get another quest or even giving out any eggs. I am so confused on how to do this :[ SE really needs to fix this if it is indeed a bug.

Anyone get anything aside from the pristine egg cap? Trying to find out if you get different ones depending on city you start it in.

Maybe you literally have to walk around for awhile. =p Then after a bit because you made the other egg 'warm' she'll give another. XD or it could be on a 24 hour timer.

Limsa NPC gives a "fancy pristine egg cap" which sounds like it is a different cap ^.^

The white one is just a pristine egg cap... The NPC told me that she would give me a FANCY Pristine Egg Cap. I don't know if she was just calling the Pristine Egg fancy, or if that is the name of the item..

OMG IVE FIGURED IT OUT!~

When you take the quest, it gives you an egg. after that, just abandon it and wait 4 hours (anima regen). you will get another egg. lol. I now have earth and water.

How do you abandon it?

go to your quest journal, click on the quest, then click abandon from the details window.

So... you have to abandon the quest to succeed at it? Any other method would make too much sense I suppose.

I've tried that, it didn't work for me /cry

You have to wait til you recover an anima after you abandon to re-take the quest. He will give you a random egg.

there is no point in abandoning it. you will get a random egg every 4 hours

some people dont tho. thats the problem. I didnt get one after waiting 4 hours, until i abandoned it.

Yes, i can confirm that. I got my second egg after a few h. Sadly i already had that egg, so now i have 2 egg of same element.I will try again tomorrow.

Got my first archon egg over 6 hours ago and still wont give me any colored eggs. At this point Ide prefer if they ditched the broken npcs and went back to the bells -_-.

maybe its like pokemon, and you have to walk around 5000 steps and itll hatch! lol

Well thats sad news :[ I was hoping to actually get the other gear the npc's are wearing! I hope they fix this quest soon cuz I really want to get the other items.

In FFXI you often had to do the quest once to get a NQ version of the item and then the same quest again to get the HQ version. The same theory may apply to the fancier looking hats, so maybe try doing the limsa or ul'dah quests again if it'll let you? I'd try it myself, but I only have two earth eggs so far :(

Well first of all you have to wait 8 hours to recieve another egg! its not 4! well actually it when the anima regens 2 points! i got my hat now, and now the other guy also have a !-sign. hmm wonder how this continue? :S

Not so sure about that. I just logged in after 10h+ and i didnt get an egg:(

I think that is bugged. the uldah NPC says he'll give you a hat like the one the lallafel is wearing, which is a multicolored hat. but he gave an all white one instead.

i think they are going to do a maint at some point to fix the event. OR they are going to just let all these bugs go until the next update since this event goes until may 9th.
