I was pretty furious about the servers too. But when I read they're suspending digital downloads until this is resolved, it spoke true volumes to me.
It's time to stop the SE bashing, I'm putting my believe in Yoshi sign back in my yard.

I've never seen a Blizzard issue that hasn't been fixed in days, if not hours. Some people have been having login errors since phase 4. I understand you're hyper defensive, but trying to bash another company, especially one that (like it or not) is more on top of things than the company you're defending is hypocritical, pointless, and delusional.

And Blizzard's Customer relations, especially on the community level pales in comparison, currently. However, that does not make me hate the company. It's just something I would like to see them, and all gaming companies, improve upon.
The tale of XIV's developers and community staff, wide open for us to see. It's ascended Yoshida to rockstar status among the fans here, and that sort of thing is usually reserved to independent developers.
AAA companies can learn to get a little bit more personable with their base. Having the community see you as a person rather than develop an 'us vs them' complex really goes a long way towards the feeling of general goodwill. -

Once we get over the hiccups there will be plenty to discuss about the game itself. But I do have to applaud SE in their accomplishment here, even in their folly. They took a failure of a game and built a game so interesting to others that now stands toe to toe with other MMOs in terms of demand.
Initial launch frustrations aside, it looks like it's earned it's second shot in the eyes of the players. Now let's see how many we can keep here. Let's try to keep the good and friendly ones, yes? I like them. -

Umm WoW had so many bugs in the game itself, not just mentioning their server instabilities at launch. FFXIV had what...some server connection errors mostly due to the volume of people using duty finder? Nah, I'm behind Yoshi. His heart is in the right place. They have issues to fix. I'll still be here. Because for every person that joined the SE Bash Bus and wants to quit because of imo normal game launch behavior then that's one less person I gotta fight for a spot in the server to play an amazing game.
