Any tips on this fight to make it less of a heal spam fest?
I did this fight twice and it was interesting both times. First you'll just have to use medica a lot, period. Gather everyone when he jumps(on the edge of the center of course.) Also this is the first fight where I said "eff you guys, the limits are MINE" that helped a ton with late aoe dmg. A SMN or THM with physika helps too after the heart part. I found the war tank took like no damage and medica and regen kept her full the whole time but the PLD had to use his own heals because he was eating dmg bad. Dunno if that was player skill or not.
I've only done the story version, but regen was very useful. Have your group stack on you during his time in the air, and cast Medica as he lands so you can get everyone healed & ready to go. Regen helps out with the consistent, lesser shockwave damage while cures/free cure II's will keep your tank healthy. :)
I just did this fight... omg my heart!
it wasn't bad actually as SCH, I managed to heal through it like a beast, but if only I didn't kept getting caught in that push back attack! in my screen I'm out of it but still get hit by it, my solution was to run to the center and it worked 90% of the time...oh well, I didn't know there is 2 modes to this, if this was the story mode...I'm never going to do Titan fight ever again!
on the other hand "Long live the Queen" one of the most fun fight as a healer, others liked it too, now I always select it in duty finder.
I'm a dps and you healer guys Rock you do a great job and just thank you very much for you constant concentration
When I did the fight as a white mage I did not have Regen (I was level 34 at the time) and I basically used Cure and Cure II since Medica is too expensive. Overall, the fight is not hard to heal once you get used to the damage pattern and the timing of the boss abilities. I would also assume that Scholars have a much easier job since the fairy does most of the work, even when they are turned into stone.
The big issue that I have are the servers since I am European and I have to live with a permanent 1 second delay. Even if I currently stand outside a red circle, it might still get damaged depending on how fast I moved. Certain abilities simply cannot be dodged by European players (like the wrath of earth in the last phase of the fight).
Funny how playing this game made combat in WoW a lot less boring. The faster GCDs and the lack of delay made me feel so good that FF XIV will probably not last very long for me (especially when SoO comes out).
Hi, I suppose you are talking about the "story version" of the fight. Well, if that is the case, I can tell you how I see the fight.
First of all, I am playing as white mage and achieve the mission at level 34. I used Medica after two aoe ( don't use it after only one at the beginning since you will overheal your group), or anytime the group was too low and could take all my Medica heal. When he jumps in the air, it is convenient to tell your group to gather on a specific area on the edge so that your Medica heals everybody. Then, concerning the tank, spam Cure and track the free Cure 2 you get, so nothing fancy here.
However, the main difficulty is the latency :D yeah, yeah, because like Zeons said, you cannot afford a medium latency if you want to avoid Titan's abilities.
I hope you will find this useful :) Have fun !
Ok the titan fight was a breeze with Regen.
Thanks for all the suggestions!
If you get Regen, then the boss fight is so easy. You just have to pay attention from then on. I only used Medica like twice. It also helps if you have a Bard on your team.
Be a scholar, place your fairy on a good spot and make sure it can heal other party members and then go full dps ;D. No just kidding, you have to move your fairy quite alot because of the knock back attacks titan does. I recommend placing Eos in the middle of the map so her buffs will hit all the party members. Furthermore cast succor at the right time to outheal titans full map attacks and spam physick on the tank/party members. Equilibrium is also possible but only cast it on the tank because of the high mana costs. Also remember to use aetherflow and energydrain to replenisch your mana. Piece of cake ;D
So fed up of Scholar's thinking there all that, WHM have to deal with mana conservation and no way to get mana back without pots with a huge cd on them till you get mp regen skil at 38, which u can not use for this fight any way.
I had two groups with this fight, first was a Warrior, 1400 hp, i had 1250 as a WHM, he could not keep the agro and the dps were all over the place, obviously we failed and we gave up.
2nd time was with a Paladin tank, 1650 HP, i dont know what you tanks think u should do but i'd much prefer you put points in vitality and had the skill to keep the agro, the 2nd fight went well like others have said, people gathered together for his jump and everyone kept close enough for a aoe heal to hit them when needed, and cure I with cure II procs were fine to keep tank up.
I dont think the fight is hard if you have half decent gear from level 32 dungeon, if you go in undergeared as a full group you will likely fail. i have to be honest i dont love the constant spam healing that healers in ff seem to have to do, i dont know what i'd prefer but something slightly different, and no i dont want a fairy.
This fight is fun as hell... Loved it.. Can't wait for garuda next!
Did probably 90% of my healing with regen, it lasts a long ass time so your mana is pretty healthy without much issue. You don't have to panic just because people get low, just let regen do it's thing on the DPS and use cure (cure2 if you get a freecure) on the tank. If you don't have regen... go get regen.
