Duty Finder- Healer

I am currently leveling ACN. I really wanted to play the dungeons with ACN. After an hour of waiting, I said heck with it and changed to WHM and resubmitted. Instant PARTY!

I did the above for all 3 dungeons...waited an hour on ACN and then switched...same result.

Now, I don't have a problem being the WHM. I leveled it in 1.0 because I enjoy it. However, I feel like I'm getting no practice with ACN. Also, the experience points are lost.

I realize there are many ACN right now and I bet if we had the numbers for active classes/jobs at a given time, there is no way that they are balanced. If you took the 3 icons for duty finder (healer, dps, tank)and placed the total number of classes/jobs on the server under them, I bet it would be a staggering imbalance.

What's my point? I don't really have one. Well, I guess you could take away from this....to the player:level a conjurer/whm please...to SE: please add a healing class.

I came here looking for the same answer. As a DPS, I wait an average of 1.5 hours to get into a party via DF, I can't belive this could happen due to the cross-server duty finder. I find this pretty similar to what happened in FFXI when you had to look for a party for hours, the only difference (and a good one) is that you can do something else while waiting, like FATEs, now I'm level 21 and I'm trying to get into sastasha since lv 16...

The good news/bad news is when the scholar surge comes....maybe this will help...maybe not.

THe Simple answer is the huge influx of ACN since many Legacy players have that as their only job to level. In time this will fix itself.

For ACN or THM i go cnj so i can still loot the gear for my primary classes.

For lancer mnk and archer its a little harder try finding a whm or tank on your server to hit the duty finder with it will speed up your time greatly La_deva and Arlen.

it take me average 1 hr in my LNC and 1 hr in my PGL

The problem for dps having to wait for a long time is that there is a shortage of Tanks and Healers. The following numbers although are made up, actual numbers may and will vary, but may also be accurate in a sense... Essentially for every Tank made, there is an estimated 50 DPS, for every healer made, there is an estimated 35 dps. So using these numbers, 1 Tank, 1 Healer, 2 Dps, will need 20 tanks in order to fill the slots of 40 DPS. Which I will say, is a lot of tanks! So if the numbers are for example accurate, 20 tanks would equal 1,000 Dps players! That is a huge number. Almost unfathomable. But, the numbers MAY be accurate, but they could also be greatly exaggerated. Suffice to say, Tanks and Healers are least played by a good portion of people because they require the most work. Healers need to keep up with everyone's HP, and if you got a dps that isn't attacking what the tank is attacking, that DPS is getting damage which turns into the Healer having to heal. A tank needs to keep track of all mobs, make sure they are attacking him/her, AND watch for Adds and Patrols. Playing a DPS is extremely easy compared to Healing/Tanking.

I hope this clears up why as a DPS, your wait times are greatly increased where Tanks/Healers seem to get near instant queues (And to be honest, this is the first MMO I have ever played where as a tank, I have waited 20-30 mins for a queue)

Maybe during character creation it should show how many people have started with specific classes that day or something? Might encourage those to tank/heal.

I find that tanks are more starved than healers. Never have problem finding a healer in Duty Finder but the tank always takes a lot longer. I'm not too far away from 50 on my ARC and I'm going to spend the next few classes on TANK and HEALER classes only just to try help a little ^^;;

... also I'd like that glorious unicorn.

healer queue post 30 has been a bit long for my whm :p pre-30 it was instant

yea the DF post 30 is pathetic 1hr queue times

I am almost level 21, and I can't get past a level 16 storyline quest so I can get closer towards the storyline's introduction to the Big Company's so I can get my mount.
I started killing mobs for hunting log, but now that I am on mobs that are 8 to 10 levels higher than I am, I can't beat them. So now I am having to go through finding crappy quests to do, like plant flowers outside of Tam-Tara, while I wait for Tam-Tara tanks and healers to show up.

I know that it's going to be fun when I get into level 30, _SaInT_ says it's better after 30. But I can't get a mount, and I want a mount. I can't even buy one flat out for 10,000 gil if I wanted to, or learn the mount skill for 30,000 gil if I wanted to. You have to do these storylines.

So either, make a way to not have to queue, or remove the quest all together and just let the players queue for it if they want.

I really think they can add a role select to the duty finder. Make it so even Arcanist's can que as healer we are given healer spells we need to be able to que that way. Also might sound crazy but low level evasion tank pug with the right abilities from MRD and GLD you can easily tank. NIN in the the future should start now letting them tank. Just what i see would help improve wait times

In DF I have never seen 2 ACN
So I think it always pick different classes
LOADS of people play ACN (pretty much all Legacy) so it is probably one of the hardest job to get in dungeon at the moment
But should get better once the number of ACN decreases

From what I understand the way the DF works is that it will always pick 1 tank, 1 Healer, 1 DoW DPS, 1 DoM DPS. The only time that this is supposed to vary is after a long enough wait period of which I don't actually know what that period is.

That behind said I actually leveled my Cnj up to 15 and started spamming the first few dungeons on it trying to get pieces of that Acolyte set from the first three dungeons. This both gives me some neat looking stuff for my Arcanist but also helps out other's trying to complete those dungeons. Win win I say :D

Does the Duty Finder normally stay grayed until other players show up in the queue list? Is the finder server currently slow? Or is it waiting to reserve an instance for ages (get more instance servers up if this is the case)?
I realize part of the reason why it's slow is that I'm ARC, but I've seen healers and tanks waiting a long time too, hence why I'm assuming there's just not enough servers for the instances.
