How to DL FFXIV patches faster?

I remember there is a way to download the FFXIV patches through utorrent or something but I don't remember how to and I'm having trouble finding a way to do it. Any help? Don't want to wait like 5 hours before I can play D:

I "Ennvy" your download speeds =P Now I'm running at about 60kb/s so maybe it's not going to be as bad as I imagine ^_^

go into my documents and patches and match up the torrent name with the patch name listed downloading when u start up FF14. From there download via torrent and replace actual patch file with torrent downloaded patch^^

This update seems to be going all over for me, usually Bittorrent is fast but I couldn't get 15 Kb/s for some reaosn.

I'm still downloading through utorrent and have an hour to go. *sigh*

Same as me BUT now it suddenly increased to 250kb/s so, 20 min left XD

My download progress flew to 60% and gave up, it seems.

Ya agreed, patch is all over the place. Still downloading torrent, usually goes 1-3mb per second but this ones oddly barely pushing 200 kb's hehe Only about half downloaded now^^

C'MON SQUARE XD It's time to get a new patcher :D

Download only took 5 minutes on this computer. But the other one has been running for the past 30 minutes.

Stalling around 27-35 KB/s ><

Rift has dedicated servers where you can download their patches/game at max download speed, not sure why other MMO companies are cheap -_-

torrent is in Metainfo folder so place patch in patch file under 48eca647 or w/e folder hehe should alrdy be there as a partial due to starting FF before torrenting patch.

Well on my less-than awesome computer it's being really funky and fading in with either 0KB/s to 1KB/s and to something crazy in the 3 digits. 48.3% with anywhere between a couple minutes to 7 hours.

I'm not sure what to say since the computer I'm on finished quite quickly.

yeah my client will stick @ 71 bytes per second, sometimes jump up to a few 100kn then plummet back down. takes a day or two for each patch

even utorrents slow tonight tho :-(

omg yes haha took 10 mins to finish it, and on utorrent at that xD luckly all done now, just installing and good to go :D

Square enix seriously need to allow people to mirror these, I can top 1.8mb/2.1mb EASILY on every other direct download but this shit can barely stick at 50kb/s before going to below 1kb/s. I have a 5hr time remaining, SO FRUSTRATING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Should be [Your_Home_Folder]\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV\downloads\ffxiv\[alphanumeric]\metainfo.

Hunt through the metainfo folders under different [alphanumeric] folders to find D2011.04.13.0000.torrent. When you're done put the downloaded patch into [same_alphanumeric]\patch.

Open your FFXIV ports and you would download x10 faster a patch is taking me forever to download but my gf ports are open and download x10 faster. Onces her download is done i can switch it to my pc, for some dumb reason my Modem does not allow me to open the same ports for more then 1 pc -.-

Here are the ports

UDP - 55296 - 55551
TCP - 54992 - 55551
UDP - 443

WTF, some of us don't have a masters degree in network theory. Honestly.

I read that tip on another forum and I managed to do it after 5 mins on google and I'm no computer-wiz at all. It wasn't really hard at all.

Edit. And btw it instantly made my download-speed shoot up to 700kb/sec.

I hope you joking Setting up ports is very easy, with something called "google" you can even learn how to set your own networking without even going to school. Which i went for and i still learn everything before even going to a networking class.

But for others who may not know this.

1#Start --> Run --> Type "cmd"-
2#Type "ipconfig" on to the black box
3#Look for Default gateway you see numbers "000.000.0.000 type the numbers you see on yours on the internet.

Then go here "http://portforward.com/" look for your modem and learn how to set up your ports.

If you think this is hard then call your ISP and they can give you a step by step how to do it.

No this is not wow or other games that allow you to download each patch or download the full game and update the game launcher each few months. Sadly This is how SE does it and we deal with this for many years in ffxi.

Without ports open took me 1hour to get 22%

I open my ports: 8:43pm=22% 100% = 8:56

So if you want to download update faster open your ports.
