I'm having the same issue, no one has given any clue to what the errors are for, or a solution to them
Assuming these are HTTP error codes you received (You attempted something on their website) and a 401 means Unauthorized and the 601 means Server overloaded / Refused (An obscure code as it's typically something else). It could be that their purchasing service is down. You could attempt to connect to Google's Public DNS and do an ipconfig /flushdns (Windows Key + R type in CMD hit enter and type the command).

If your lucky this will put you on a different instance of their servers and it might go through (kind of like picking a server for FF14).

Yeah I getting the same error when I try to set up a sub. I'm going to give Raace's recommendation a try.

I wonder if this is in regards to applying your Collectors edition key as a bonus content key. In which case previous 1.0 subscribers cannot upgrade to a Collectors Edition box; it needs to be purchased as a digital upgrade.

NOTHING WORKS! I bought a damn Ultimate Game Card for $20 and it STILL DOESNT WORK for crysta. I am now pissed off with SE. I will ask for a refund. This is BS, no wonder they are going bankrupt.
I'm glad I'm not the only one. I've searched through their DB and it doesn't exist at all. I'll be mad if the promo ends and the problem has been on their side all along. the Customer Service has been of no help at all and I just keep getting thrown into a loop of errors. Doing it from the Account Management gives 401, Doing it from MogStation gives 601.
Can you contact customer service through the phone or the live chat? I can't reach ANY member of SE. Its messed up.
Do keep the thread updated on any updates on this. It's a shame considering I'd really like to get this over the ludicrous price's in eBay
No I meant as in rather than buying the CE pack on eBay for redeem. A friend of mine talked about this and we debated on how the standard pre order was just $10 short from the CE at that time. Rather we weren't sure if the CE was worth it until lately.

Same problem here. My visa works fine everywhere else, but when attempting to set up account payments, buy crysta, or upgrade to digital CE I get error 401 and error 601. I tried two different credit cards and none of them worked either. I have been attempting to get a hold of support for 3 days, and haven't been able to at all yet.
I had 1.0 and was told I could digitally upgrade to the Collector's Edition and yet there is no way to actually pay them? What is going on?
Between this and the unable to complete version check error. I get the feeling that Square doesn't want me playing this game.

Yeah, this is ridiculous. Why am I locked out from paying? I'm just trying to subscribe or buy crysta. I'm not trying to scam Square although I guess they somehow think I am. They should want to take my money.
I can't use any of my credit cards that work fine everywhere else. I never could, even in 1.0. So for 1.0 I used to use Ultimate Game Card to get crysta. But now I can't even do that. It validates the code ok, and it tells me to confirm the payment, but then it declines it when I confirm it. How are you gonna decline a prepaid card? There must be a lock on my account, but there's no customer service to unlock it.
Customer service just doesn't respond to this issue.
Its ridiculous right? I've just decided to enter their chat support over and over again until I get someone to answer. I just leave it on the background and wait for it to tell me there's no one available. Please keep bumping so we can get our CE items. They are only once in a lifetime things. I heard if you try many times they can put a lock in your account though I've been getting 401 since the beginning. 401 is in fact unauthorized, but 601 means its over capacity or saturated but if I keep trying it locks it out.
SE should address this immediately so they can get more money!
I spoke to their customer rep, submitted 3 tickets, out of which, 2 came back closed, and unresolved.
This was their reply.
What the mother fisher? Closed without being resolved?!? Their billing support rep's are completely clueless, it was frustrating and tiring. I was put on a 3 hr hold after the first one attended to me, then said some traffic congestion and just disappeared on me leaving me on hold for 3 hrs. Frustrated as I was , I was shortly disconnected for inactivity. Bs. I waited another 30 mins only to be met with another clueless staff who kept asking me the same questions repeating them like a parrot and responding with "from the books" typical responses. While waiting a friend of mine had bought the CE physical copy and the code given in the box was the standard code instead of the CE code, He felt ripped off but he decided to finally opt for the 15 EUR upgrade to CE and it worked for him, wtf (He was using a Mastercard, I on the other hand am using a Visacard). While he had called virgin megastores to confirm their mistake (I was still in waiting queue) they gave him another code, this time for the right CE (They had mixed up the placement) and so I asked my friend if I could use that code instead, and while waiting & browsing I had the tab window open regarding the code entry that comes as a second account instead of merging with your standard account , with over 20 claiming they have added their CE code and would like to have it merged with their main and the staff has been kind enough to do it for them. The staff member I had spoken to said it's not possible and when I had quoted back on the thread he stated he would raise the awareness of the matter and back to typical responses you'd expect from the "helpful" team.Quote:

If that didn't make thing's worse the rep asked me about my name, location, bank, banks location, country of origin like I was some FOB who had just arrived from Mexican border. FML. All of which after answering and stating exactly, and numerous times what the problem was, ended up with the textbook response "Raise awareness" blah blah like it was some fund raising program. Seriously?
So essentially this means SE doesn't give a crap, and once my free days are up not only will I not be able to pay for the digital CE upgrade but I will never be able to play again because I cannot pay for my account...
Seriously wtf?! This is a pretty big issue I wish I could even get ahold of them. But from the looks of this they can't and wont do anything and I'll just be ignored.
Might Visa be the problem? Has anyone tries different card types?

Definitely not the case as in 1.0 my dad was paying for my account since I didn't have my own.
I'm wondering if they are somehow blocked. I recently moved so I'm worried that might have something to do with it... Mostly that it's noticing my IP change and blocking payments... Just throwing stuff out there because this whole thing is boggling to me. If SE doesn't even know the problem then we might be screwed...
I registered here where I am now so it must not be the IP. How about trying to get a different IP address through proxy servers? Have you tried that? Have you tried the live assistance chat to any success? I just get stuck there for hours and then it says nobody can help me.
And my brother who lives in the U.S. also tried on his computer and nothing. It's the same error.
Hm I wonder what it could be then, that was the only thing I could even fathom causing this error.
I sit in the queue for support everyday for the past 4 days and still have yet to be connected to any help. Always gets cancelled. I fear calling as I have limited minutes on my phone and honestly I don't know if I even have long distance to call them. Are they toll free? D;
And no I haven't tried changing proxy servers. Honestly that is way above my head and I doubt it would help.
Well its not very complicates but it might work. Look up a tutorial. I'm going to try today on the phone and see if I can get through to their phone queue because most of the time I just get busy signals. The key is to keep trying.

It shouldn't be this hard to give a company money. I'm waiting to see if I get a response from support before I put anymore time into the game as it would be pointless to level only to not be able to play after the first month.
The thing is, once you get flagged by a system automatically because of "suspicious location" or whatever dumb user-unfriendly fraud protection there is, you get blocked in their system no matter where you try it from. I assume this is the case since I move around a lot and have never been able to use credit cards with their system.
Because it doesn't even get the info to the bank to verify, it just auto-declines without trying. Just like my $20 UGC card. Declined after being verified.
There needs to be someone from support who can remove that block, but they don't have anyone there who knows the problem or even enough staff in general which is ridiculous.
Any notice on whether support can fix this or not?
