This happens to me all the time, too. I can't find any pattern to it.

This constantly happens to me as well. It must've happened 3 times in Coerthas for me today.
I even uninstalled the game, did all the cleaning, including Registry, and reinstalled as most of the guides I found to resolve the error said to do.
None of it worked.
and crash number 4 from this ><

I'm hoping by posting how the screen looks when it freezes helps them to fix this problem.
If your's crashes too take a screen shot [PrtSC] button then paste in paint...upload pic to a pic hosting site then link here.
Lots of people have been experiencing this error.. http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...-Runtime-Error
I don't think it has anything to do with our end.. Windows even lists this as a programming error so hopefully one of these threads gets noticed..
5th time, 2nd time today
http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a3...D550/ry%3D400/
Found a page that explains why this is happening and it is a programming error.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/125749
Cause:
This error occurs when your application indirectly calls a pure virtual member function in a context where a call to the function is not valid. In most cases, the compiler detects this and reports the error when building the application. But depending on how your code is written, sometimes the problem is detected only at run-time.
The error occurs when you indirectly call a pure virtual function within the context of a call to the constructor or destructor of an abstract base class.
So basically one or more of their programmers derped some code.
Actually, I don't really think this is SQEX Dev Team's fault... This error happened to me 10 times only this night. It's so annoying I got pissed off and reformated my PC in order to clean everything up and only install the drivers and Final Fantasy XIV to play. The error happened again other three times. So I went to do a research... In many programming forums I saw that Microsoft is blaming the game developers for this Runtime error, but the users are experiencing the same thing with Internet Explorer, Mass Effect 3, Star Wars: Battlefront, Diablo III, Final Fantasy XIV, Star Wars: Jedi Academy; and many many other softwares, on Windows XP, Vista and 7. I guess there are too many developers involved in this to be their fault and not Microsoft's :/
I read many posts telling us to try to open the game from the setup folder, and Open as Administrator. For some games that works, for others, that doesn't.
Got it too, each day 2-3 times, yesterday 5 times, it seems that every day i get it more often. Already posted here http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...-C-R6025-error, but dunno why this is on german forums now o.o
Bump!
I hope this get fixed with the next maintenance x.x
Happens to me almost on a daily basis. Got to play for a grand total of half an hour today thanks to getting this error twice. Both times I was using Gridania's Aetheryte system to get into Old Gridania. Doesn't happen every time I use them, but it only happens there.
If the congestion problems didn't exist I'd brush it off, but this is turning into Errorzea..
It is their fault....

It is a program issue.
for those that don't understand.....a function is a set of instructions that are used more then once....instead of writing the same code over and over again...write it as a function....then when needed call the function......what is happening here is most likely a typo when calling a specific function...It happens...Hopefully they can search in their debugger for all their function calls and figure out which is misspelled.
I've been getting this error, too. I only get it once a day, however. That's because every time I get it, I can't get back in -- 1017'd for hours on end.
Hugely frustrating.
now I'm getting this F'ing message ><
