Um...what. the. hell?

Note that it DID NOT SAY patch 1.17a. So...I just read the patch notes, and couldn't sleep at all last night, and where in the patch notes did it say anything about companies? I think SE just totally punk'd me. -sigh- Who else is upset that companies probably won't be in this patch, unless ninja'd in and left out of patch notes.

Yeah I noticed nothing about companies in the patch notes either. It is very possible that they forgot to add it to the patch notes lol. I do not think that they would add the page to the site and not add it in-game. Prob just forgot about it on the notes...

I think i somewhere saw that they mentioned that only quests relating the Grand Companies will be this patch and the Companies will be later.

EDIT: Btw. also, after the Earthquake in Japan, there was info that patch 1.17 will be divided into two smaller sections and some things (i dunno if this part was there but how i understood it) might not get in.

So there will be patch 1.17 and 1.17a

Yeah, I know they are doing a patch 1.17a but when releasing the company page, right on lodestone main page, they said "better prepare for the Grand Company-related content being released in patch 1.17." like I quoted in my first post. Kind of disappointed that it may not be in Patch 1.17 as said yesterday because I move in a few weeks, and will have little to no game time for a few months afterwards. :(

There was also no mention in the patch notes about the Easter event, so I'm thinking that perhaps some details about the patch were not called out.

Also, in 1.17 I believe it was said that only some quests were being added related to companies, not all of the features.

I hope so. Because that is the one thing I'm looking forward to most for the game. It'll at least be a different variation from NM grind/levequests. :)

Arent there some small intro company quests in game now? They were added along with sidequests.

There is a tease quest in Uldah that involves walking around and talking to NPCs that talks about companies, but nothing else. Overall, huge disappointment and I wish they would just released the update along with the content instead of raising our hopes up.

Those aren't tease quests man...you have to read em instead of spam enter to get your Orange Juice. It's not about the OJ. Companies ARE in this patch. All of the new quests are about the beginnings of your role in bringing about Companies to fruition.

If you can't tell by now they're kindof a big deal and you kindof play an active role in making it all happen.

1.17 does have company content...but only 2 minor quests...

I was SOOOOOOO hoping to take a screenshot by the galka chief...next time maybe ; ;

Anyway...you can see several quests related to both chiefs and companies. Check the ones at CON, GLA and musketeer guilds since those are supposed to be the "defensive" classes of each nation.

Yoshi-P said the 1.17 patch was being split, 1.17 = 70% and 1.7a = 30%, he never mentioned what data will be split but here is hoping its the rest of companies + Chocobo's :D

He said 1.17a would be out a week or two later so maybe end of April for companies (hopefully).

These are the key words you're missing out on here. I admit, I missed them as well and was WTF'ing when I didn't see Grand Company info in 1.17's patch notes.

The quest chain I did in Limsa was pretty cool. (Don't read my post any further if you don't want spoilers)


Basically you have to go around and gather intel to see what the best way of uniting the city together. It gives lore of the past companies and the methods they used to rally everyone to fight together.

Honestly, really, really excited about the coming war. It's like they're hinting at airship and boat battles on the sea and a bunch of other cool stuff. This game is going to be real good soon, just you wait.

wouldn't count too much on that.

Quick update, i didnt see anything really cool since the update for 1.17a , tho the actual patch size was 3Mb larger then the previous patch 1.17 so if size means anything who knows. But what i do know is this, i cant figure out the eggs event, ive done all the quest. and im tired of levequest lol. Something soon, would really help out, or i feel another hiatus of 6 months coming on.

The easter quest is pretty easy to do at this point. Go talk to the npc, talk to the spriggan or other players, find the location/area where the spriggan egg thieves are, beat em up and take their eggs, go cash them in for a helmet.

Here's an updated info from poducer letter IX.

"Come mid-May, the vanguards of the Grand Companies will be the first to brave Eorzea’s newly discovered dungeons. Their preliminary reports will be made available on the Grand Companies page on the Lodestone, so be sure to check it out!"

They punk us all on every patch SS! Oh... but please be patient.... good things come to those who wait.. Well how about this. They send me copies of all thier games and just before I die, I'll send payment? I might even send a bonus.

Heh, I'm so sick of reading how we, the customer, who paid them our damn money (btw my money is lacking nothing in content) and got punked!

What does thier corprate page say? NVM. It took all I could muster to waste this many keystrokes on these guys.

I want this game to work. I wanted it to work 8 months ago when it was suppose to.
