So as not to spoil anything for anyone...
Just wondering if anyone has a tip on the order I should focus on when killing the mobs on the bridge. Is it Trash, Mage, then Voidspawn ogre guy, win?

Just wondering if anyone has a tip on the order I should focus on when killing the mobs on the bridge. Is it Trash, Mage, then Voidspawn ogre guy, win?
I cleared this 1/1 last night by just focusing on Galka > Taru > Ogre with trash in between if it was close to death from NPCs attacking it. After the fight, I noticed another NM-type caster on the left ledge of the bridge, but I didn't do anything with him during the instance.
Thanks Optimus.
Galka (healer) > tarutaru (SMN) - yes I'm using their FFXI names - and what's this about an Ogre? My only guess is he would have been there had I not stun'd the Voidspawn spell
Unlike almost every other instanced quest where you're supposed to kill the lower level mobs while your NPC buddies kill the higher level ones, you're supposed to kill the higher level healer first.
Like someone above me said too, its fairly possible to stun the caster so the voidspwan never pops.
Has anyone actually been able to beat this at level 30?
Yes, I had nothing but trouble with this at first, but was finally able to pass it through both a combination of the Echo buff pushing my HP over 2000 and buffing up my str and def as well, but more importantly, I realized finally what I was doing wrong - ignore the ARC, LNCs and CNJs down on the bottom level and platform where you start - just run back to the bridge. Then just concentrate on the roegadyn CNJ - he'll probably hit you with Fluid Aura (water knock back+stun) if you pull hate off Mylla and the other GLAs, but after stun quickly wears, just run back and zerg him.
After this part was where I kept dying. Because of all the other mobs clustered close by, it was impossible to see where the other CNJs and THMs were who were hammering my character and would normally nuke me into oblivion. Once I found them, take them out ASAP. Once the THMs and CNJs are gone, the battle became so much easier as the LNCs, ARCs and PGLs were a nuisance but nothing without their backup, even when the ogre appeared (I actually soloed it!).
Incidentally, the THM who summons the ogre is a named lalafell on the stairs lurking away from the other enemies, so if you're quick you could probably take him out before he even could summon his pet. But as long as the other THMs and CNJs are dead before that happens, it should be nothing you can't handle, and victory shall be yours. :)
I had an insanely hard time trying to complete this at Lv.30, but that was probably due to being severely under-geared. I found out when I got to Lv.34 and equipped Lv.30-32 gear like I should have done a lot earlier, it was a cake walk.
And so i'm actually adding to the topic, I went Galka > Trash > Taru > Trash > Ogre.
Not sure why everyone is having difficulty with this fight. It was a very easy fight. I completed this with level 25 heavy armor and i don't remember my weapon. I just went in starting hitting crap. Always kill heals first as with any fight, then i went for the lallafell dude and after that I went for the voidspawn. Just stay out of any red and heal yourself up after clearing the trash before you engage in the main fight.
Honestly, I did this at level 30 with ease (thought getting the evidence from the "bar" was more of a challenge, though I got through fine). The Galka healer goes down FAST. The taru smn is cake. Just watch for him to try to summon and shield bash him. Failed the first time because I thought I had to "hurry" up the stairs to join the NPCs and ended up draggin 8 mobs with me, then the smn got the summons off and I was toast. Just deal with each group of mobs quickly going up the steps, kill the galka healer, stun the smn when he summons, win.
I think making sure to stay close to Mylla so she can cure you can help as well.
After taking out Gotwin Helahex, make sure you get the Kindness of the Alcaran who are also on the bridge, before you go hunting Gigirya the Guarded. Use shield bash on Gigiya to stop his void call spell, so you don't have to fight the voidsent ogre.
I am having such a difficult problem, because #1 not everyone is an FF expert and I am unclear who to attack (after the big galka healer). Everyone looks the same to me, especially when you are in panic mode just trying to survive (and getting thrown all over the bridge). #2 I can't see some of the things you guys talk about, to much crap on the screen. #3 They are not healing me, they being any of the npc's, so I get blasted about 5 seconds after I hit the galka, then that is it. #4 Finally, I'll say it one more time WASD controls suck, they went out about 1988. How about controls that actually work!
I also had trouble here. Enkidoh advice is good, go up the bridge ASAP and don't lose time downstairs. Then kill the conjurers and mages first, especially the one who summons the ogre if possible. Usually the GLD quests are not easy if you go just as available and don't have good gear, normally there are several wipes until you discover the strategy. If too hard, just level up a bit more and get better gear and it will be easy later. I find it's fun when things are a bit difficult but finally you can win.
Got better gear, made lvl 31..., still dieing repeatedly, lol. I know, I know, just keep leveling. But honestly, I am really tired of the grind. In that respect this is reminding me, a lot, of other MMORPG's (Conan, FFXI, WOW, Guild Wars 2, etc.). I thought there was supposed to be less of a grind in this game?
I failed this three times until i went back down the stairs and found a lone enemy just chilling right where i picked up the quest.
*sigh*
