you are making it very difficult for others to log in and play please be respectful and do not go afk and leave your self online its not fair to others i myself have not been able to log in all day this is not any ones fault but squares but please remember to be respectful of others and give them a chance to log in :cool:;)

dude i logged in at like 5 am, then went to work for like 10 hours, had this awesome 10 course dinner went i got home, then hooked up with gf for like 16 hours, and now i finally get to level after being AFK all that time

You can't really blame them. It's not like booting AFKers alone would make near enough space for the sheer number of people who can't log in right now.

It would be a good start. 1hr AFK boot timer. I would like to see it.

1 hour seems good to me that's plenty time for me to walk to local shop buy more booze get back and still have time to cook food then still have 10mins to spare before being kicked.

One hour is fair.

I also would like to see a temporary 'reserve' on your spot after you DC. Five minutes would be fair. For example: let's say you're in a dungeon, halfway through. Then you DC. You won't be able to log back in because of the error (or queue if you are lucky). It can be very frustrating if you DC at just the 'wrong' time. The reserve would protect these people from losing their spot.

On that note, I would like to see a longer queue. According to one friend, they haven't seen a higher number than 150 in the queue. Any higher than that and it just tells you 'sorry, busy, try again later'. If the queue was longer, people could patiently wait in that queue until it was their turn rather than having to spam. I wouldn't mind waiting 10 minutes if it meant I didn't have to be spamming for 30 minutes HOPING I got a spot.

Blame SE for underestimating the number of players, not those who actually want to play. I can't feel bad towards anyone staying logged in after trying to log in for hours on end. Maybe if they implemented a working queue...

Yesterday I saw a queue that was 350.... I sat there for about 5 minutes then got the 1017 error.

Though I agree I would like to see a forced disconnect after an hour but even then there are ways to avoid it.

To borrow from another topic what I believe would be best would to implement the force logout, and when they get the new servers up and running give everyone (Legacy Players included) at least one free transfer to another world. This may alleviate some of the congestion in the over populated worlds.

Very sorry you are all upset. I am guilty of afking all day while at work.
If I am kicked I have my alarm set for 5am edt just to double check I'm still logged in. If I lost connection, it is very easy to log back in at that time.
even if I was disconnected, nothing can destroy my log in macro.
I use a nostromo, and make a macro that hits 0 over and over faster than I can push the button myself, and it's set on a toggle switch.
Hit my macro, go to dinner, come home, and I'll be spamming holy on cd, but hey, I'm playing. Thankfully.

^ I ain't even mad! that's frickin genius. Seriously though, no one is trying to come home and play just to sit there and spam log in for hours on end... just sayin.

Like I said in my previous comment, there are ways to avoid a force logout. I would do something similar.

I'm currently logged in the game at home while I'm sitting at work. I use Chrome Remote Desktop to check on the game every hour or so to do some administrative stuff on my character and FC and sometime chat with who ever is online.

In FFXI I would stay logged in the game for days at a time.

It's all gravy baby. Itll get fixed, they dont want to happen what happened before.

I would gladly swap servers. I wouldn't want to swap to the same server, everybody else thought was safe.

I felt bad when I did it, so I try not to anymore. I guess I don't blame anyone who resorts to staying logged in, though. We've all paid for the game at this point.

People are staying logged in because the servers suck .I have been off since Monday so I have been able to log in early and play ,but I've ran by someones character early yesterday and that person was standing in the same spot and GUESS WHAT they have every right since the servers are overloaded.I was playing today did Ifrit mini fight and then was about to finish my grand company quest and I got dropped.Ive haven't been able to play at all after 12pm est !What if I was working all week I couldn't have played at all!It's been 4 days this should have been fixed by day 2 @ the latest!

BTW it's suppose to be fixed by Wednesday...WEDNESDAY is 8 days.This is a perfect example of why Japanese companies are losing millions while companies like Ubisoft,EA and Epic games are rolling in the dough anyone one of those companies would fixed this issue within 24hours and add M$ and Sony also.I've only seen 2 people on from my LS that's 2 out of 35+

Sorry for being a dick over this but what happens if I log out so someone else can play? I will have he same problem everyone has when I try to log back in. At this moment this is first come first serve. Sorry but true.

Hehehe mass log out is coming for maintenance tomorrow, I just hope this get resolved, its frustrating having only the weekend to play and not able to login since Friday.

I feel the pain, I have not been able to play since Saturday evening after trying to log in for almost 2 hours. I am however being very patient, we have been promised changes on Wednesday, and after all this is an MMO launch, all MMO launches are rough. They are getting their fair chance from me, after Wednesday if the issues are still there, than maybe I will start getting a bit frustrated. It's not like we have paid for anything (at least if you are a version 1 vet that is).

Wednesday is when SE finds out whether they can wipe their butts properly. Only 3 outcomes: 1. All gets fixed (doubtful), 2. The problem persists and SE has to extend the free to play period until its really fixed, 3. SE remains unable to fix the problem and starts charging players thus triggering the class action lawsuit that you know has already been floated out there.

So many botanist out of a job... geddit? People can't log?

I have not done an all day work AFK, however I attempted to AFK this weekend to be able to play when I wanted to. Each day the game crashed on me at some point, which meant no more playing for me the rest of the day. Sadly, if you want to play this game during peak hours (or for most any hours), you have to AFK. I'm not opposed to an AFK kick timer, if SE can remedy the server login issues. I'm not confident they can, at least not very soon. All we can do is wait and see.

I myself haven't done a work AFK but can't say I blame people. I logged out at around 2:30pm today from messing around on an alt just to find I couldn't login on my main. I just said on well and started browsing the internet. SE has really dropped the ball on this. The instance server has been overloaded since head start which is why the queue was changed and 10 days later we are still waiting on them to address the underlying issue. Go go gadget band aid that severed artery and walk to the hospital not like you're going to bleed to death if you take your sweet time. On a side note if there had been more than a 2 day OB/Stress test they might have found out about server cap issues.

Be mad at AFKers all you want. Fact of the matter is this will be cleared up within a month's time, if not this week. Compared to the idea of how long they plan to run the game (10 years), this is just a short period of discomfort. Deal with it and go do something else.

The problem isn't AFK. The problem is when peole log off or are disconnected the server isn't responding in the proper manner. Normally a server will wipe the character from the world and save In about 5 secs. The servers are t a king up to 20 minutes to recognize you have left the game. causing there to be a server population overstatement. It seems as if SE as made a hotfix where in the server will do a sweep of players and decide if the player has disconnected from the game. Example is if you are zoning while the server is doing the check it thinks you have left the game. You get the 90000 error and are partially booted. I say partially cause part of the server is saying you are zoning while the other part is saying you are disconnecting ie. Error 1017. Its actually kinda funny.

All I want to know is when the fuck are they actually going to unlock the fgod damn server. I've been watching my roommate and gf shuffle there feet on other servers waiting to join our FC/LS. This is bullshit as every other server has left there fucking list at least once except ours.... Yea I'm pissed its like they didn't learn a fucking thing from FF11 or the first shit attempt at this game.
