WHY IS IT ALWAYS FULL?!?!?!?!?!?!

Because when people finally get in... They want to stay in as much as possible.

So they just leave their character AFK even when they go to work, sleep, shower, eat. etc.

Nobody wants to have to sit through 1017 for hours again.

its because they have limited the server to 5 people per zone and all 5 are afking till they get home from work

Been working all day just waiting to play FFXIV, and the server is full...AGAIN. It's not even putting me into a que to wait. I'm very worried because we have to start paying to play soon. So irritated

People have come up with some pretty creative spots to AFK from what I have seen. We should screen shot the AFK'ers and announce a winner for the most creative "aw no one will see me here" spot...lol

Ugh, I made it on the Queue and was #8 and then 1017 still popped up afterwards..

How are they not getting kicked when they zone?

I got on this morning at like 6am,

Thought about leaving it on all day till I got back,

but I not going to burn out my computer and let it run 24-7.

Other games boot you if your inactive for a long time. Hell some only last 5 min's.

Because it seems advertising worked, and A LOT of people want to play so they filled up the servers so able to play.... Sorry for a realistic sarcastic answer but come on guys this isn't anything new to MMO launches.

Now they do need to get their shit together in Canada (NOT JAPANESE DEV's you whiners) and fix the server structure and add more for all the new incoming people.

I spammed Enter (Num0 in default settings), in less than 5min I'm inside the game

I'm really looking forward to paying more money for the game.

Maybe when we start paying they will be able to afford to open up new servers and allow those of us that are already in the game to move for free... probably not

Said I'm not getting a que, just 1017 for almost 4 hours now. Hope this isn't still going on in the morning

I can't believe all our time and effort in beta plus the horrible experience that was 1.0 that we endured and continued to pay them for, plus the sheer amount of time we waited for release, has been rewarded with this.

Long day at work, come home and ready to relax...turn on my PC and I'm getting 1017 the whole damn time I try to connect to Cactuar. This is ridiculous, man. How the hell are they going to launch tomorrow with this happening the night before?

Come on really? 2 days is a row now. I'm being as patient as possible. I think 2 days and nothing is a bit crossing a line.

Years, (yes years) of waiting for this game to be right. Almost 2k for a computer that can run the damn thing perfect, and nothing.

Final Fantasy is the only game the held my interest for more then a few months.

I don't know, I am thinking of giving up on MMO's all together.:confused:

AFK in Inn. No one can see you + you get rested XP.

My question to SE is if there servers are full during the afternoon on a work/school day, how are they going to be during prime time weekend hours? lolol....

At least put the queue back, there's no point in every spamming the login screen to keep trying to get in, been trying for 30mins now, still can't log in in

It took me about 10-15 tries to get in. /shrug

I wasn't spamming too fast, I was checking it every 3-5 sec.

At least they should put in a proper queue system .

I'd rather be 3025^n~ in queue then bashing start>char>ok>1017 over and over .

It's really stupid when people are AFK they don't automatically get kicked or get disconnected when IDLE!. they should have it like Star Wars and AION where you kicked if your not doing shit. So the smart thing for SE to do is IDLE KICK! lol...if SE cant afford to make more server or expand it, then idle kicking is best thing you can ever do, so people log in with out worrying about their server being full.

Open up more fing servers and allow free xfers or something. This is ridiculous. I'm not gonna come home from work everyday excited to play a game that I can't even get into. This amazing game is gonna fail because of stupid bs.

Good thing I bought FFXIV 1.0 CE, played alpha and all betas prior to that launch, betas 2/4 for FXIV ARR, purchased the new version so I would have EA....the nerve of me being upset about not being able to login....crazy I know.

Complete and total BS, if this does not get fixed soon I will NEVER purchase a square product again.

I wish I would have taken a screenshot... I just got a "Players in Queue: 53" that was shortly there after covered up by another opaque window with the Server is full message... They seem to be confused?

I have just made a new character, but only one server is not full and that one is a NA one. I want to play on a EU server with my free-company, but I can not make a character now.

Please Square Enix open some EU servers (Odin if possible) or add more EU servers.

You're clueless, aren't you, go visit the Rift or WOW PVP forums, both games which have idle AFK kick, and see the huge number of complaints about 'botters and macro users suing trivial ways to con the game into thinking there's a player controlling toons when the player is AFK.

IDLE AFK KICKING DOES NOT WORK against those determined to be douches.

Not the issue, because 'sitting round while AFK' generally won't last very long, in any case the current situation totally entices people to deliberately 'subvert the system' should AFK idle kicking ever happen.

I say again, it's a placebo, in games that have it it doesn't work at those times you NEED it to.

I'd like to address the developers for writing their formal apology for the servers being limited and locked. I'm sorry, but an apology isn't enough. There's been extremely limited testing during the phases (3 days every 1-2 months) and quite honestly in the last phases when more people joined, especially the open beta, these should've been extended periods in order to prepare for the overwhelming number of players trying to log in at once. 3 days was not long enough for this and before the final phase was even over it was apparent that there would be issues with people not being able to log in or having trouble downloading files. It's already the end of day 1 of the official launch and every NA/EU server is locked. I, along with many others, are paying for a game we can't play because of issues and congestion. I am not impressed at all with this launch.

IS the issue. If less people are encouraged to sit around AFK then there will be more people in the game that are actually playing. End of story. Right now, my friend and I have just decided that we will never willingly log our characters out again, so long as this system is in place. We're not botters, nor do we ever want to be. So essentially the best players will never be found.... I guess the winners be all afking in the inn lol.

No I am not clueless, i know about the macro users and usage on auto controlled characters. But thats their problem NOT mine. I can careless about that, cause they are the ones who are gonna get banned. I am Simply talking about when your afk and not doing anything, just log off so other people can get in or have SE just do Idle kick and let them worry about catching macro users.

Yep... let's address the server being at capacity by telling people to stay logged in!

I don't blame people for wanting to do it given the current situation, but SE is really dropping the ball but not talking about it.

Currently there is no AFK timer and if you stay standing in your inn all day you collect rested experience. Given the situation of the servers and the game mechanics they implemented.... you can guess what many people are doing.
