If they are going to put limits on how many people can log on, they need to put in an automatic AFK kick, you are idle for too long you are out. I was playing the other day and saw people logged in the whole time but just sat in the same spot the entire day. It takes away from people who actually want to play the game.
While not an awful solution, should SE spend time developing an AFK kicker or spend time fixing the servers?
I'm for the latter as taking 100% of their time.
Funny, it is a bit like reading SEs "apology", they basically say they are sorry and then go on to sort of suggest it is also the players' fault for staying logged in even when AFK. It is freaking rediulous that they have the audacity to even freaking mention it. Sorry, but this is ALL on SE and they are the only ones deserving of getting all the shit they are getting and more.
Don't judge me, bro! Just gonna get some sleep and then continue to play with my still logged in Reindeer c@
How about instead of blaming AFK's you start with the source, which is unprepared server structures? So blame Yoshi/SE, make meme's or photoshop things on them. The AFKer's are a by product of a bigger problem.
Uh why didn't they have this to begin with in their game like all other MMO's? It should have both. This will just happen again in expansions and big patches.
You should begin by canceling your subscription. Money is the only thing that will ring in greedy JP developer ears.

Amidoinitrite?
How can u blame AFK'ers for going AFK if it took them hours to get in in the first place? Of course you're going to be reluctant to log out if you're lucky to finally get in. They need to fix the technical issues or at least put in place a working queue that doesn't just kick ppl with 1017 error repeatedly.
Dont forget there are many ways around getting labeled afk. But for now ill stare at the comfy inn bed till im able to play again
I don't remember seeing an auto AFK kick in UO, EQ, EQ2 or FFXI and I don't particularly remember any of them suffering for it beyond the usual launch/expansion woes. Assuming that the server issues are simply down to a lack of back end horsepower that will need some time to address, I'm inclined to think that getting the queue system working properly would be far more effective in dealing with the current frustration of trying to connect at peak hours.
..but I'm seriously considering doing that tomorrow before going to work so I can actually play when I get home >:
Apparently We shall not deal with AFKers if the official stance.
