Error 1017

Please let us join a queue if the server is full instead of making us hammer the servers 100000000000 times with the error message 1017.

Oh, and please boot AFK characters so that there's room for those of us who want to play

I was just 34 in the queue and then bam! Error 1017 server full :(

Same here, queue 48 then error 1017 and world full message, this is such a joke.

I really want to throw my computer out the window.. Why can't it just work. :/

This shits stupid all weekend and now into the week 1017. So do they plan to release this game with 1017 so new people who just got it will log in to errors and no game?

This isnt acceptable defiantly when the fix is a matter of a AFK boot timer which is a amateur fix.

I don't think that booting AFK people would really solve the problem described in this thread at all unless 2 mins standing still = AFK..

I'm dreading official launch on a Legacy server. Not all 1.0 players received early access and the NA/Legacy seemed plagued with 1017 errors at most hours of the day... that means the population is going to increase when we already can't get in and there is no free transfer to escape.

The only option is to find a new server and ditch your character/items in hopes of not getting 1017 on a new server. Oh to make things better my name seems to have been blocked even though no one is using it on servers I've tried in JP to escape the errors. I suppose its a good thing I wouldn't have been able to play much this week after all.

Well it would because probably a good 40% or so of the full server are people who logged in and wont log out while they sleep, dinner, ect so they can hold there spot in-game. The error message is a population related error.

OP is full of common sense. But a certain company in charge of it all has none at all.

I will not be subscribing to this game if 1017 continues. I wonder if they purposely try to piss players off for lol's and gt's. It's the only thing that explains their decision making to me.

1017 is not going to continue lol..........just let SE do what they are good at.

Don't you think it's odd that the game just tells you the world is full instead of putting you in a queue for 1017? I think that if you would have read their announcement you would see that they were just preventing log-ins for a certain amount of time and then re-opening the login for a few minutes then closing again. 1017 is just a placeholder message when they turn off the log-in server I think. They said in their announcement that they would be doing this in order to debug the real issue which has to deal with the load on the duty finder and instance server.

Error 1017 here as well.

The only time I've been able to log in since their maintenance yesterday around noon has been 5am this morning before work. I really don't understand how they think lining people up in an orderly queue would be more of a load on the servers than tons of people repeatedly attempting to login manually one at a time.

I loved FFXI and I love this game when it works. I understand launches are never smooth. However, saying they are limiting the number of people that can log on and not telling us that they're working on fixing the situation (reinstating queues? Getting new servers?) is a bit disconcerting.

I dont see why it cant just be a really long queue...

No error here- oh wait, i'm actually ingame.

I have never seen this level of incompetence from a company before..... this is beyond a joke....

they really never expected millions of players playing or logging in ?!?!!? HOW CAN THEY HAVE NOT FORESEEN THIS.......


And why the hell do they let players stay logged in and idle for ?!?!? this is like 90% of the stupid Server issues for a start... players should be kicked after being idle for 15min

I haven't been able to play since day 2 of EA. Just now got into a que today and 1017 me with 3 people in front of me in que

I dont even get a Queue... I havent been able to play with my friends since Day 1.......... so all my 14 days are going to waste due to this incompetence.... ive never seen anything like this from all the games that I have played, hell even WoW Burning Crusade launch is much better than this.... they only had issues for a day or 2... they never stopped anyone from playing, they never stopped you for making Characters, they never stopped you from playing with your friends...

This Company needs to wake up to them selfs......
