So what happens Aug 27th with Error 1017?

So what happens tomorrow when more people try to play the game are they adding more servers? This is getting ridiculous waiting 4hrs+ to try to get into the game and when I do get on for like 2 1/2hrs i get 90k error. But there are a lot of people AFK 6-12hrs while they are at work and they don't get kicked. This sucks, I should have went to a jp server.

We are all fucked that's basically it, regular 1.0 players and people who bought the game are hitting the servers as we speak.

Thank you for flying with Square Enix but you're all fucked!

I about died laughing. I am not getting this error AGAIN because I stupidly logged out to try and get my CE items.... why should I have to log out and back in to see my mail?

I used to like the title screen. It was a gateway to possibilities during beta. Now... it's a barrier to the game and I hate looking at it.

Of all the MMO's I've played, i recall no other, had this abyssmal log in restriction and server overflow issues, not even the so hyped SWOTR back then.

I can understand it's not an easy task to deal with but, the "We apologize for the inconvinience" is no longer good and truly getting old... We need actions and solutions to speak for themselves. I can't imagine at this rate how launch date it's going to be.

I can symphatize with people's frustration at this stage of "Early access". However, as much as i love this game, this is getting absurd.

I'll not demand a refund, but if these restrictions are in place when subscriptions kick in, I will discontinue playing. I am not going to pay to play a game I can't play except for ungodly hours of the night.

I agree with you to an extent. There have been a lot of people saying that this is to be expected of an MMO and while that is true, the NA/EU servers of FFXIV: ARR should have been prepared and managed better. The original FFXIV was a massive failure. SE should have put as many resources to ensure a problem like this didn't occur.

The frightening thing is SE have given no sign these restrictions will be gone tomorrow .. do SE really expect to have a subscription stream in 30 days time given what they're offering as of tomorrow?

This is the critical point, given the mega-failure of V1, V2 can't afford the luxury of the mega-fail it's getting right now.

Yeah. I plan to play my Legacy character on Ridill Tommorow. I have no illusions about my regular server working.

I love it when I can't even play a game I buy. Can't play it now, and can't even imagine what kind of chaos tomorrow is going to bring. Which is a terrible shame because the game itself is awesome...

Works as intended.

An error suggest a mistake somewhere...there is no mistake, it is all planned by them, even stated by them to help maintain server stability by only letting a select few.

So 1017 is infact not an error, from a certain point of view.

Locking people out of the server instead of actually addressing the problem is a pretty classless move. I cannot get a refund due to my code already being shipped, but I refuse to use it to activate my account. When early access is over and my account is no longer active I will find another company to support financially. A shame really because I was enjoying the game... although I was able to play more of it on a beta weekend than during EA.

Well; I really don't see any way It's not going to be a complete disaster from hell.

Apparently I'm not allowed to make a new thread because my character's level isn't high enough. Sigh. Well, if these login-restricting tactics continue into official release tomorrow, (and there's absolutely no reason to think they won't), I'll be contesting the purchase on my credit card. This is beyond unacceptable, the game isn't worth paying for at this point.

Really horrid customer service and amazing the arrogance of that hollow apology without offering anything to the player base. This is definitely the worst launch since WoW vanilla. After the re-launch you would think the company would "pretend" to care about their players. This is launch a big Eff U to MMO players - free-to-play games exhibit far better customer service skills that square E.

Same here, I've never experienced login issues like this with other MMOs, not even during beta testing.

I've been locked out of my 1.0 character for nearly the entire early access period. SquareEnix's poor reputation is well-deserved at this point.

I plan on getting a refund and cancelling my service at the end of the week. There's no point if I can't use it, and re-rolling a brand new character on a JP server is unacceptable

The whole point of ARR was to attract and retain new customers, and now SE stands to lose a large portion of those customers . This is really bad from a business perspective because all that potential revenue will be gone soon enough. A 3 day open beta was really stupid

That's just great. They opened the servers to the masses early and they STILL haven't dealt with overpopulation. Makes perfect sense /sarcasm

I guess this is working to relieve congestion. Every time I see 1017 I feel less compelled to try again.

Simple new players will create new characters in na/ea servers find out they cannot be played then after that start flooding jp servers with new characters. Game over.. bad reviews ...

Error 1017.

That is what is going to happen. With all the servers full with just the EA crowd. When the game gets to live for the rest they are going to show up to full servers and be unable to create characters.

There is going to be a storm of negative reviews.
