Just wanted to let you guys know your time with the server is up, so if you could please just go ahead and log off so that I can play until I zone somewhere and get disconnected again that would be great. If all the displaced Balmung refugee's could please form a single line in this thread we can start a smooth lineup.
Yes - So glad I could pay for this early access only to be unable to play because of maintenance or because the server is full. Money well spent...
I got my early access corrected, so now CAN log in... but my character is locked up on this overloaded server.
I think a new legacy server should be put up, with an option for legacy characters to be moved over to one of the new servers. So if you hit the server overloaded message, it gives you an option to transfer character to some place less crowded.
I've been spamming for over an hour and still not in :( wtf! It doesn't usually take this long, ughhh.
just logged in no problem, sat in a queue of 67 for about 2 minutes tops, don't really know as i was reading the forums waiting for the queue to let me in.
If you really gotta play, you have to be out of work and home at 9AM - that's when everyone else is away and some quality game time can be had. Source: I'm that guy

Heck, even the JP servers are full right now. Probably with NA players but still...
This is a Great way to start off their New image for the game, with another total fail on their part. I would have thought they would have learned to be prepared before releasing this game again. It seems SE has trouble learning from their mistakes.

This issue is leaving a sour taste in many peoples mouths before they can even get out of the gate.
Problem is SE never really thinks outside the box enough. They polish a game pretty nicely, but don't ask enough of "what if" questions. Lets face it, FF players have been looking for something to latch onto for a long time, and most people are bored with WoW and the other MMO's. I really love what I've gotten to play so far, and will stick it out for a while. But ig it doesn't get anywhere after a bit, well, I stopped playing 1.0 almost a year before it went down...hopefully won't be a repeat
If there was any way I could get into a queue, that would be cool, but no, I can get 1017'd. I don't understand why some people get into a queue, and I get 1017. At least give me the opportunity to wait in line.
I agree Acretia. I've been so excited after playing some of the beta, and not running into too many login issues. Now that I've paid for this game twice over though; I'm rather upset as a customer I cannot even play what I purchased. They should have over compensated rather than put on a nasty first impression. I have friends I won't even talk to about the game, because I'm afraid they'll try to play it and have it not work.

I was very excited to share this game with a number of my friends, but I am afraid to even that they will be disappointed with SE's inability to manage CRUCIAL elements in the game. This mistake is not a small one, or something that is easily overlooked. Server Capacity, on a MMO, on its launch, I mean, seriously? Over anticipiate how many you will need, shrink it down later if you have to.
I dont know how it works when calculating the threshold of each server... but it would seem to me if they knew how many different servers they were building, along with how many copies of the game were in production... that the servers should be large enough to hold enough character data for the max number of characters each player could create on every server, PLUS room for expansion.
In any case... I was very excited about this game; I still am. I think its a great game, and I want to play it with my friends. I just wish SE would get thier act together. :(
